OMG my JUDDD BUDDDS, I'm SO depressed right now!! I have lost all my enthusiasm for everything right now and all I can think about is my poor Cleo!

I went to see Cleo this afternoon but she got so excited to see me that she was hurting herself shaking her leg with the IV in it to try to get rid of the needle to get out of the cage to be with me! She looks so helpless and I had to leave so she would calm down. It was suggested I not come visit again until she is ready to come home.

My house is SO quiet, and I'm so lonely without her! I'm having such a hard time with all of this and I am trying so hard to keep the faith and be strong and positive! She may not be home on Thursday as planned, but I'm for the best to happen and that the flush takes and she will be feeling so much better when she can come home.

I just miss my baby girl so much!!

That is so sad Having to leave her must have been heartbreaking, especially being told that it is better not to come back until she is finished But just keep thinking how much this is helping her, and how maybe not seeing her for a few days is going to give her the chance to get the care she needs to come back and be with you again. I'm sorry for all you are going through

HUGS...

OH how difficult that must have been for you! I am so sorry. Animals are much like kids, they actually do better in this type of situation when we are gone. I am sure the staff is all wonderful to her as well!

I will continue to pray!!!!!

Well, I didn't go see her today, but I did bring in fresh meals that I made for her this weekend and was asked to bring in by the Vet.

Well, I had to at this: I called the Vet and the tech said that when she gave her the food, she sniffed and then proceeded to try to bury it under her blanket in the cage!

Either she didn't like it or as Dottie suggested to me, she was saving it for a "snack from Mommy" for later. THIS sounds like my old friend, and it also sounds like she is getting a bit of "her" back!

Thanks again from the bottom of my heart for all the prayers, thoughts and kindness here.

You guys are WONDERFUL!

Linda,

thanks so much for the update. Even though you didn't get to see her I am sure it felt good for you to bring the meals for her. It's good to hear that she is seeming like herself.

UPDATE: Little Miss is coming home tomorrow!! Dr. said that her blood count is going down (I don't know what he meant but he was happy ) but her creatinine numbers are the same so she still has Chronic Kidney disease but he is going to really push the flush today to see if he can bring those numbers down a bit.

I will know more tomorrow afternoon when I talk to him, and I'M JUST SO HAPPY SHE IS COMING HOME!!!

Any suggests on questions I should be asking besides food and meds advice?

Thanks all!

You READ my mind, Pat! This is JUST what I plan to do when she is home and settled in the next couple of days.

I will be picking her up after 4 pm today. Dr. says her heart is enlarged, also but that goes with the kidney issue. She will be on meds to help everything, vitamins to help, too and he likes my homemade food idea and suggests I continue this. He talked honestly (I love this about Dr. Menez) about the fact that what we are doing is only to give her a better quality of life right now and more time for us to be together, and it could be a lot of time or a little but the way I look at it, it gives us both time together for a bit. It gives me to prepare for "that" time and her to just be home, happy and comfortable until she tells me it's "that" time.

I'm just so that she is coming home and I can't thank you ALL enough for your prayers, thoughts and concern for her and I! Please keep praying, though, if you can because I TRULY believe that your prayers/thoughts are what has given us the opportunity to be together again when we really thought she would not be coming home at all!

Thank for the bottom of my heart!

Hello All!! Sorry for posting so late, it's been a busy day! Well, I got to the Vets at about 4:15 (had to stop and get donuts for the Dr and Staff as a "thank you" for us).

Dr brought me in and went over ALL the xrays and lab results, showing me the enlarged heart, the different numbers on the test and what they meant, how he was pleased with this, not so with that, but still hopeful over all. Gave me 3 different meds and some vitamins. I paid the bill and then they let my little Miss out of the cage. She came out slowly and I was sitting on the floor. I said "hello you" and she looked at me and then the light bulb went off and she came running over, howling and crying, kissing me all over! She kept yelling and barking all the way out of the examining room, down the ramp and every person she encountered in the waiting room she ran up too and barked "I'M GOING HOME"!!! We got into the car, and she kept her head on my arm as I drove home. Came home, went around the yard some, and then I cooked her up some food, which she ate half of, plus her vitamin. DBF came over, who she and was so to see him. She ate a little more while we ate, then when we all sat down to watch TV she went right to sleep

She is SO tired, been sleeping since about 7:30 and I did wake her up to tell her to get off the couch and get into bed. I had to help her up because her leg is sore from where the IV was, but she got into her favorite spot and settled right in. After she got in bed I came in with a chestnut (any nuts are her favs but chestnuts she would run away from home for! ) and she laid there like a Princess and ate the chestnut, half asleep! Then again she was out like a light and I haven't seen her since, but I can hear her snoring across the house!

She is just plain worn out and I'm just so to have her home! Dr is pretty optimist that if she takes to the meds and with me feeding her the low phosphorous diet she will be around for some time.

I plan on taking a picture of her to post here tomorrow or the next day for you guys to see how wonderful she looks. Her eyes are clearer now, and she just "looks" better!

She asked me to translate her barks to you guys and this is what was said:

Thank you Mommy's JUDDD BUDDDs for all the prayers, thoughts, well wishes, and concern not only for me, but for Mommy. She really needed support and you guys were there for her all the way, everyday! I will never forget how you all came together to pray for me and to help her during this terrible time! I KNOW that because of your prayers I'm now back in my wonderful home with my Mommy and am just so happy to be feeling better. You guys are the BEST!!!
