UD!
I'm behind in cals..And if I'm being honest, I've never counted cals. Even when I lost 50lbs at a time. I eat when I'm hungry, stop when satisfied. So this all new to me and kind of exciting and annoying at the same time. lol 1130am- 1.5 cup plain yogurt mixed with whip, lemonade crystal light, and 2 tbsp coconut 130- 2 cups steamed baby carrots 6 turkey meatballs ??? A snack if/when I get hungry.. That's it so far. Like someone the other day, we are hitting the chinese buffet for Dinner. I'm not going to go overboard but look forward to a few sushi rolls!! |

Way too much time on my hands!

By far, by far, by far I have the very best luck planning out my DD menu completely in advance, right up to the final tiny measurement and the final calorie. Every time I ever wrote it down as I was eating it, without planning it ahead of time, I'd run out of calories long before I ran out of day. These days, DDs are pretty quick and easy, because I eat so many of the same choices, and I already know just how much to make of this or that. Very simple now. Good luck with JUDDD. I'll bet you will be very successful. Start thinking of what new clothes you're going to be needing in smaller sizes, because it's only a matter of time.

DD....
I stayed home from work today... not sick, just fried. But now I am faced with all the food that my kids are eating. I am not really hungry today. I have had a cup of coffee today. Going to boil some eggs and have some greek yogurt for lunch. Broccoli with a little chicken for dinner. |

UD today.
After dropping 1.4 pounds after my last UD of over 2000 calories, I decided to try upping my UD # from 1610 to 1800. So last night I tried to plan out my calories for the day...it's so much food! Right now at 3:30, I've already had over 900 calories and I felt like all I did at work was eat! ![]() ...will post my final menu later. |

Then the other thing was, I had to fight the impulse to not cut my UD calories down with every little bump up on the scale. I ate some carbs, had a bump up in water weight, and wanted to refrain from eating the top third of my UD calories. ![]() Holding down my calories in the past had always, always resulted in the eventual slow- down of my metabolism, and yet.. here I was again, driven by the impulse to cut the calories. Once I was able to trust JUDDD to do its job and work its magic on me, I was able to relax and just leave it alone to work. I think there was one time after a few months where I lowered my UD calories a bit because I came to realize that I'd set them a bit on the ambitious side, and after that, I just relaxed back into JUDDD and enjoy life to the fullest now. You know all those luscious fabulous rich and delicious foods that we get to indulge in on a low carb diet? I still indulge in them! Yum! And those foods that were on the *Do Not Touch* list? I indulge in them too! Yum again. ![]() |

It works almost as well to get into it backwards. It just slows your weight loss down a bit, but it's no big deal. Just work on getting yourself onto DDs that are as low as you can manage, and go with it! |

Looks like one of my cats, too. The only one that doesn't eat people food. My bicolor cat eats anything and everything I let him get at (and some I don't).
Even tonight, when I made a DD curry chicken dish for dinner, he licked the bowl clean. I thought he wouldn't like the spice (it was kinda hot) but he cleaned it well. Recipe: half an onion, sauteed in a teaspoon of coconut oil, flavored with teaspoon of tandoori paste and some extra spices. Added 6 oz of cooked chicken, half a bag of frozen cauliflower, and a cup of frozen spinach. Added water to help it all cook together. Split it in two servings. very flavorful and filling, for about 300 calories. |

I am hoping that this will get a little easier! I feel like I barely ate anything at all, and still ate double, almost triple what some of you all ate! I have a real problem with light-headedness. What does anyone do to remedy that? My instinct is to eat something. I really didn't feel much hunger, just the light-headedness.
Thanks for the support, you all are very knowlegeable!! And encouraging! -Erin |

Well, JUDDD isn't remotely that bad or that long. Your Up Days will give you a nice big number of calories to help tide you through the following Down Day, and you will also learn what to eat on your DDs that is both filling and lasting. And your brain and body and general physical chemistry will adapt to this so quickly, and not give you these undue feelings of hunger or light-headedness, etc. (Although, I don't know how much you truly ate today, so..) But there are so many times in our lives when we can't or don't eat much for a day, or even for several days, either due to illness or distraction or whatever, and don't even miss the food too much because we just don't feel all that much like eating. And that comes to be real normal on a DD. You just don't have much trouble with them anymore. Hang in there! Do the best you can here at the beginning. You won't regret it, and you'll get into it shortly. In the meantime, pay a lot of attention to what people choose to eat on their DDs, to give you some great ideas for your own menus. |

And when you come to this out of a strict LC woe, it's hard to think "low calorie" and you may still be wanting to get in high fat foods. That's OK if you do that, but since those foods have high calories, just know you won't be able to eat as much in quanitity, or maybe as often, if you see what I mean. My first DD was over 700 calories and then I took an UD the next, and then had a better DD after that (and still lost weight after the UD). ![]()
