Nope, everything in moderation, and just make sure to cook the goitrogenic foods, and all should be good. Yippee!

Ouizoid, you are a mad scientist. I love it!
![]() I put a whole container of the tofu in my "magic bullet" (its a fake lol), then about 1/4 cup strawberry walden farms syrup and blended well. It still had that tofu taste so I then added 1tbsp of hershey's unsweetened cocoa and blended and omg. No tofu taste and it's so creamy and rich. You would never know it's not dairy. It kind of taste like melted neopolitan ice cream! I'm sick of glucc pudding too and with as much shiratake as I eat it gives me intestinal distress so I haven't been eating it. Looks like I need to stock up on tofu. I did 1 carton of Silken Light Firm Tofu. For 2 very good size servings it's: 67calories, 3.35g carbs, 1g fiber, 2.35g net carbs per serving. LOL, mswoods--I have been called a Mad Scientist by many!! That is what majoring in biochemistry will do to a girl--nothing I like better than a good chemistry experiment!
So glad you tried this recipe--I totally agree that creating a flavour that masks the underlying tofu taste. I absolutely loved my pudding and intend to make more tonight for my DD tomorrow! |

Carly, I love Miso and I'm so happy I get to add it back.
Soren, it looks like chewed bubble gum to me, but I'm weird. ![]() |

I might be wrong, but I think most people here use miso soup in packets from the store. I know I do!
Check out the asian food aisle of your grocery store (or searc online)-- there's a ton of different brands, I think kikkoman might be a common one-- and there's basically miso powder, and maybe a 2nd packet of chives or tofu and seaweed. I think they tend to be about 30+ cal per serving (though I always add extra hot water to mine, to stretch it a bit, and then maybe some soy sauce and hot sauce).

There are also several kinds of Miso paste. I've seen it in tubes, jars, tubs, etc. I've only made it from the powder, so I don't know how they compare, but you can bet I'll be getting a couple to try in the near future.

Someone else may have made the same thing as this; but, I made this today & it was delicious!!
I thoroughly rinsed a package of Miracle Noodles(angel hair) w/hot water & a bit of lemon juice. I put it in a non stick skillet, added 1 wedge of Laughing Cow Queso wedge & a couple of tablespoons of salsa. A shake of salt & pepper & Yum-O! All for about 45 calories. I need to re-stock my supply of noodles!! I'll run out at this pace! |
