I have gone back and read quite a few of your posts and you have really done well on JUDDD! I'm benefiting from some of the advice you have given to others!! HA! For sure Cindy! We'll see what happens after he sees me losing on this WOL. Ditto to you what I said to Kristen above about JUDDD and your posts. I'm up 1.5lbs this AM but thanks to you JUDDDers who warned me I might be, I am not going to panic! I will get my calories up to 1,564 if it kills me! I had 453 calories yesterday and no problem staying under 500! |

Hi! I'm new to JUDDD, name's Anne
I was really successful with L/C ages ago, after I gained a TON of weight due to steroid therapy - lots it all and kept it off for over 10 years then I had a bunch of kids (3) and also a 6 month (!!) bedrest period (boring story, basically went into labour at 19 week + c section = about half a year of bedrest) and then after *that* I had a hard time getting around with 2 under 2s and a baby, as *they walk so sloooowly* blah blah and so on. These things together with I LOVE WINE = Me being 70 lbs overweight! (Kids are 6,6 and 5 now)
Sooo, (in truth) I just cannot do a reliable Atkins WoE - Money, other people eating my food ALL THE TIME (and I kid you not. Every time either one of the kids or my husband nicks my chicken/veg and eats it - whereas before, different partner and no kids = Easier!), and other commitments, etc. I just cannot handle the planning and food guarding I have to do. Every time I have failed it's because I was stuck with nothing suitable to eat indoors for 2 days - after people have nicked my 2 days' worth of chicken I cooked in an afternoon - whilst I'm out shopping or at work, etc. So I am doing the JUDDD thing! Had a relative low cal day yesterday (under the ones the calculator said I should have) and my first DD today - it is pretty good. I do ritual fasting 8x times a year for 36 hours (= to a DD, give or take) and so am used to it and find it pretty easy! I am LOVING that I can just plan normal dinners (with normal costs!), etc and then just eat on one day and not the next, etc. I love that I can just have a *burrito* for dinner and not have to chuck everything into a bowl and make sure we have extra salad! It just sounds SOOOO easy! My main issues are that I like to drink wine, although that has slackened off recently anyway, on its own - but then if I drink like 2 glasses of wine, I end up eating *crap* like chips (fries), or toast - because (as above) there is none of my food to hand. Anyway, this just sounds simple (though I have seen some threads, where as usual - just like on atkins, some folks just *like* to complicate things but I think it's because people cannot accept that things *can* be easy?), and gives me a lot easier way to deal with my family as well as a diet, so I am really looking forward to it!One DD (almost) done and I am feeling good! ![]() Let's see next how the UD goes! (Probably be fine and a bit easy really, chicken fajitas on the menu - but someone might have to actually have some cheesecake!) I found this accidentally, when I (also accidentally) came across a page by a Roux something or other, who was doing a similar plan but then just *disappeared* so I was looking for something similar. Well, looking forward to it - and I think it will be fun! Best Wishes - Anne |

Welcome Anne. Very supportive group here. Lots of veterans willing to answer questions.
The WOE takes some getting used to but sure is simple. As you said, some of us can't help complicating things a bit. If you have fasting mastered, the rest should be easy. Welcome to freedom. |

Yeah, was good so far - yesterday was really just fine - I had a big low carb breakfast, and will have an early dinner (around 4:30 today) and then I have work half 6 to 11 tonight, and will come home and go to bed so hopefully I can just get through tomorrow's DD and then it should be rolling ok! How is it going for you so far? |

Newbie to JUDDD
I started JUDDD 11 days ago and so far I have lost 6.5 pounds. I did buy the book and read the beginning (the research). I do feel like I have more energy - my arthritis feels better too (but this could be due to medication - I will be able to tell more in 2 more weeks)
I feel it helped me get out of a rut - I lost 21 on Atkins but was gaining and regaining 5 pounds over the last 5 months. Anyone have input about health benefits (other than weight loss)? Glad I found this thread and sorry if there were any benefits listed in the previous 69 pages! |

Hello,
I'm completely new to this message board and also new to JUDDD. Had my 1st UP day today and the first DD is soon coming for me. I hope I'll be able to put some kilos off, I' ve been trying to do so since my second child was born but with no success. I hope different times are coming. Is there anyone starting these days? Is there anyone with her/his gallbladder removed and still succesfully following JUDDD lifestyle? I'm here to get support and give one I'm glad I found you! Good night from Tinca |

![]() ![]() Anne and Violet. I've been away for a few days and great to come back to more Newbies.Sounds to me as if you are already loving the JUDDD concept Anne, lots of us from the UK on here. Looking forward to seeing you succeed. Violet, the Non Scale Victory thread is amazing, and mention many of the benefits of JUDDD. And if you are interested in the 'science' read the CRON sticky thread. I see you have made a brilliant start already. Good to have you both on board. |

tinca. Hope this turns out to be the way to your healthy life. (Aside) One thing that amazes me is the fortitude of those following the whole metric weight thing. A pound is a fairly small measure and it agonizes me to wait for each change in the scale. How do you stay sane with KG and St since you have to lose more to see the drop? Or maybe you are just used to it. On the other hand, you don't see it go up as fast either. I love denial. |

Tinca, sorry I was clearly working on my last message as you posted yours.I really hope JUDDD is the answer for you. It isn't too bad using Kgs and Sts Cici. most of the modern scales are digital and show grams or pounds too. In fact, when I was losing my first 4 stone I enjoyed celebrating in both ways, delighted to see a new decade and also thrilled to see a new stone number. Bonus, bonus. |

Hi! I'm Brandy and I'm new to JUDDD woe! I did low carb and lost 15 pounds and than like some i've been losing and gaining the last few pounds. I have read the success that some of you have had and I'm inspired. Like some have said it just seems to easy. So today was my first UD and tomorrow starts my first DD. I'm excited and nervous to do this. Mainly because I've been eating way under my calorie goal to try to lose more weight but I've decided that if i'm going to do this i'm going to follow my UD recommended calorie intake. "Pray for Me"
