Just found this option!
Hi everyone,
I'm Sherri, and surfing the Net today has (thankfully) brought me here. I've recently quit my job as a weight-loss consultant, where I was on and off their food plan, for two years. Lost and gained the same twenty pounds over and over again. Now, after three months of being on their plan, and a resulting one-month sugar binge, I'm back to where I started! My own fault, but frustrating, nonetheless. This morning, I'm still recovering from yet another sugar binge. Last night it was cake, ice cream and frosting. Blargh... So, I'm looking into this JUDDD thing. Makes sense to me! I'm 5'5", and only a size ten, but feel much happier and healthier when I'm a comfy size six to eight, and have my sugars under control. I can do this! Looking forward to it, too! ![]() |

New to JUDDD after short time LC
Hi everyone! I've been reading your posts about JUDDD for the past week or so. I've very excited to get started. I've been trying to lose weight for my whole life. I did lost 50lbs before I got married but started gaining the day after and it was not long before it was all back. I've tried low carb a couple times, but for some reason this time, I'm not having a hard time with it. I've lost 10lbs. my first month and a half-and I think I'm a slow loser. Lately I've been thinking about JUDDD, I have 2 kids and my husband. DH is super healthy, always exercizing. (Annoying!) I just think it gives the wrong impression to my kids, when I say I can't eat this or that. So, I'm hoping JUDDD is as good for me as it seems to be for everyone else. I think, I'm going to try to stay sugar free, I think sugar is a real trigger for me and once I have it I don't seem to be able to stop. I also have to start exercising, for the past 5 years, I was self employed and worked at home. I now have a really fun office job (serious- I totally love it
) but I sit all day! I'm very busy and focused and sometimes have to run to the bathroom because I've been sitting there. So I must make time for exercize![]() Anyway, it's good to read all about your success~very inspiring! I'll be checking in often because I love to have accountability and some peeps to share my good news with. Thanks~ Hollyitworks! |

Sherri and Hollyitworks - Wow, you're both first time posters. Are you both starting today as an UD? People ususally do so as to be well fueled so that their first DD is more doable. However, my first day was a DD, since I'd eaten plenty the day before. Hope to see you on the July weigh in threads. All my questions have been answered by the extensive threads. JUDDD is pretty simply. Keep posting so we'll get to know you. Hope you love JUDDD. |

Sherry and HollyThis WOE can be very therapeutic. It has been for me. I still get "bingey" I just have to be mindful of what I eat. Sugar laden processed foods set me off, so I am learning to avoid them. You too will find your groove! SherryI can only imagine how difficult it must have been to work as a weight loss consultant - I hope JUDDD helps you find peace with food. Heather - Thanks for your encouragement! New to JUDDD
Hello All! I'm Molly.
Lost 36 pounds on hcg and am in Phase 3. Hoping to use JUDDD from here on out. I did my first DD yesterday and it was pretty disastrous .By 2:30 I had already eaten all 500 calories and was ready to try licking the paint off the wall. LOL! Evening cam and I blew it. I was doing the induction DD that Johnson recommends in the book using shakes. I think I need more than that ...like I really need something to "chew". Am I OK in thinking I can have real food as long as I stay within the 500 calorie guideline? I don't want to mess this up but the shakes just aren't going to do it for me. Thanks! |

Molly! Many of us used real food, rather than the shakes. If you're comfortable weighing and measuring your food and know you can eat the right number of calories, there's no reason to stick to the shakes. Dr. J said to use the shakes mainly for ease of counting. |

Hi Molly and
i started off using shakes/diet meals but much prefer "real" food. When i first started i made chicken and vegetable soup - i weighed and measured all the ingredients and worked it out so that it was 500 cals - once it was cooked i put it through a blender so that it was thick and creamy. I make the soup the night before a DD so that i can start eating it at breakfast time.Other days i have a mushroom omlette for lunch and then fish with veg for dinner - have a look on the DD recipe thread and also have a look at the daily thread that list's what people are eating that day (e.g. todays is "It's tuesday - what are you eating" - you can get some great ideas that way. Good luck!

Question about bulletin boards
Hi! I'm a newbie to this site in general (since June) and to low carb eating. I'm also doing JUDDD, since I learned about it on here... I love this site! I see all of these "sticky threads" with recipes, etc. but I'm not really sure how they are different from regular threads. Is there a way to utilize or access the recipes easier from them? I guess I'm just wondering about the purpose because I think I'm not using them to their full potential! lol Anyway, I don't post a whole lot on here, but I love reading everyone's stories/questions... You all are so supportive and helpful!

You might also like to click on 'User Control Panel' at the top left, near the top, that will show you the threads you have posted in before. Much easier than hunting for them.

Hello!
Hello, my name is Reagan, I am a 34 year old male. I got really heavy after college during my 20’s up to 320 lbs. Yikes!! Around 2 years ago I had enough and lost 70 lbs on the zone diet plus exercise. Last year I seemed to stall around 240 mostly because I would eat out a couple of times a week with my wife. I really liked the Zone, I just lost the will power to eat on it ALL THE TIME which I have to do to lose weight that way. I really got into reading about LC after reading two of Gary Taubes books and am convinced LC is good for your health. I consider the Zone LC because it is lower than the typical American diet.
Over the past year I have put on about 25 lbs because I have been eating on the zone 70% of the time and eating junk on the weekends and such. I am starting JUDD today to hopefully get me back on track and losing weight. Plus, I am excited about getting to eat food I enjoy on my UD. On my DD I am limiting my calories to 500. Any advice is welcomed. |

Reagan! The best advice I can give is to read all you can here and follow your calories pretty well most of the time. This is a great WOE and really helps with those feelings of deprivation we can get with other diets. After all, whatever you can't have today, you can certainly have tomorrow. |

Hello, my name is Lacey. When I eat strict LC (my preferred plan has been S1 SBD), I lose weight. And then I get off and gain it back. Over and over. I am looking for ways to get out of the cycle!
I have spent a lot of time in the forum over the last couple of days, reading, asking questions, and I also ordered the book for my Kindle. I think I am a convert. I am doing two weeks (if I can make it) of Rapid Fat Loss, then transitioning to JUDDD. And I am excited! Thanks already for the warm welcome and availability to answer questions. You all are really friendly!

Starting Today!
Hi everyone!
I've been doing experiments on myself this summer, found out about JUDDD from a post here on Low Carb Friends, and decided to start today! I requested the book from my library, but think I have enough info to get started ... Great to meet you! ![]() |

Me too, Lacey! I always lose weight on Atkins ... but I seem to burn out after about 6 months. I experimented with carb cycling this summer, but weight loss was too slow for the amount I have to lose, so I thought I'd give JUDDD a try.

Welcome TheresaS!
Read all the stickies to learn more about the basics of JUDDD, and we are also very happy to answer any ??????? you have. One other favorite thread of mine: NSVs--Non Scale Victories. This WOE is simply transformational in so many ways IMHO. I am sure there will be someone along soon who is familiar with HCG and transitioning to JUDDD to give some insight. Best to you!! |
