Welcome tibaby. You don't need to cut carbs at all if you don't want to, JUDDD is about calories, not carbs.carbs

Hi MonkeyPenny and welcome. We have another JUDDD BUDDD in Germany, though she is in fact Dutch! We are are a lovely mixed bunch here. Do post over in the UK/Europe/Australia thread if you'd like to.

Hello all - I've decided to jump on the JUDDD bandwagon...been perusing the threads all afternoon. I low carbed down 35 pounds in 2010 but I was a slow loser...then I had major surgery at the end of September 2011, quit a 30 year smoking habit and as of yesterday's visit to the dr. I have gained all but 0.02 of a lb. back in seven months. My dr. is ok with the gain given the circumstances but I'm not... am slowly regaining my stamina but no formal exercise yet.

I'll probably stick to a modified carb menu but no more beating myself up. Am anxious to learn all I can from the JUDDD BUDDS

CatherineA, Read all the stickies and especially about the DD recipes and staples. Lifesaving, and some are very quick. Some longer recipes are worth the time for work lunches, etc. for the week.

Join the May newbie thread and wander the boards at will asking questions and popping in and out. I notice that the most regular poster are often the most successful.

Good morning everyone! My name is Erika (obviously) and I have been lurking on this site for the past few weeks, and as of this morning I could finally figure out how to activate this thing and post, sad but true. I just found out about JUDDD may be a little over a month ago and decided to give it a try, hoping to learn from all the JUDDD veterans here

Hi all!! My plan was to switch over from Atkins to Southbeach but after reading many of your posts, you all have inspired me to give JUDDD a try. I am ready to see some results while still being able to enjoy life!! My fiance has supported me every step of the way these past few months but really misses being able to enjoy certain foods with me. I think this just may be the answer. I do need more education I feel to get a better understanding (already read the entire website).

I love all the support & encouragement I see here which is almost more appealing than UDs

What a lovely thing to say about the support here, it is indeed 'almost as appealing as UDs'.

WOE: HCG
Start Date: 7/4/2012
Hi everyone I am Michelle, and I am no stranger to LC living. I have most recently had success with HCG *when I followed the plan*. I have had a ton of stress in my life since losing the weight on HCG, and as an emotional eater, I gained a lot of it back

JUDD seems much more do-able for me than HCG right now, so I'm trying to read and absorb all I can.

I have a lot of food "intolerances", so this will be challenging for me, but I'm going to do my best. At this point, any diet has to be better than the "nothing" plan I am doing now.

Hi All! Well, after reading lots on this forum, and reading Dr. Johnson's JUDDD book, I've decided to come join you all. I have done 3 rounds of HCG injections. I lost 25 lbs in 30 days first round (gained most of it back), and just couldn't get past 10 days in on the next two rounds for many reasons but I just can't do that intense of restrictions. My moods and energy levels were very unstable and I really got to where I started living like a hermit. It also seemed I used HCG as a crutch and never made lasting changes to not only look healthy, but to BE healthy in a way that can be maintained over my life.

Looking forward to getting to know you JUDDD'ers! .

Hi all, I'm new to this - have been struggling to lose weight for a year since having a Mirena coil fitted, and have been toying with the JUDDD idea for a while - am now ready to give it a try.

I am starting at 206 pounds. I would be happy if I could shift 7 pounds a month, so my aim by 8 June is 199. My problem is that I'm a serial weigher, and sometimes weigh more than once a day! I need to stop that, so I am going to try and limit myself to weighing only after a Down Day, and then try and get down to once a week!

Judging by all the other stories on here it certainly looks like it may work - fingers crossed!

Thanks for all the warm welcomes!!

Today is my first DD. I had coffee with splenda, two boiled eggs, and a cheese stick during the day. I'm a little hungry now but feel in control. I'm not sure what to eat for dinner yet, maybe an omlet of some sort. I haven't really had time to view many recipes. Yesterday was supposed to be my first DD but my fiance and I bought ingredients to make shrimp egg rolls [for the first time] and were excited to try it out. They turned out great!!

I was on Atkins so I am used to drinking the shakes and I find them very filling. I actually drank them all up last week, purposely, because I had not planned on using the any more. Then I read where Atkins shakes were good to use on DDs. LOL!

I'm super excited to see how my first week goes!

I actually already introduced myself (sort of) when I asked a question......so once again than you for the warm welcome.

Like so many of you I lurked here for a long time, then transitioned over from another WOE. Mine was MediWeightloss (NOT to be confused with Medifast)

Both DH and I were very successful doing Medi as long as we were going to the center for supplements (appetite suppressants, and fat burners) but once my DH lost his job and we couldn't afford to continue it became VERY hard to eat 500 PROTEIN calories (low fat, low carb) EVERY day.

I had lost a total of 83 pounds, and DH lost 96. Over Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year, and our Anniversary we both regained some.....I regained 20, but he regained close to 40......we went back to trying to do Medi on our own without supplements, and did manage to drop a few pounds, then we decided to try JUDDD.

I have refused to change my stats.....because with JUDDD I PLAN on being there (and lower) again very soon.

My question is with initials.....I know:
DD is Down Day
UD is Up Day
MD is Medium (or Mid-range) Day

but what is:
UUAD? does that mean a really high calorie additional day?
UUD? really high calorie day?

hmmmm seems like there are others that I can't think of (darn)
