Nancy, Scamble and any others I may have missed.

I am so pleased to see new faces and that you have really given thought to this change of plan. I agree that there are so many folks here on JUDDD who always find time to listen and advise if they can. With time I am sure that you will be doing the same

This is a really happy place to visit. See you all around the boards.

I do suggest you start posting in the April Newbie thread for now, although soon we will have a May Newbie thread, which will accommodate folks like you who joined at the end of April. (Hope that makes sense.)

Hi I am Debbie. I started last Monday but wanted to see if this way would work for me. I LOVE IT!!! I do get hungry on my DD but love knowing I can eat something the next day. I had a major FAIL over the weekend but as of this morning my total lost was 3 pounds. I can deal with that
Today is a DD so I'm going to enjoy breaking my commitment to food and just letting my body heal from the weekend.
Happy to meet everyone!

Ah, another HCGer!

I, too am a former protocol gal, and have found JUDDD to be so much easier for me. I just did not want to do another round......as they say, a re-shaping round......for me, it still meant another round!!!

You'll be a success, I am sure!

WOE: JUDDD 1850/700 or less if I can!
Start Date: JUDDD 4/30/12, LC and Carb Cycling 2002-2011
Lurking around different threads within the JUDDD forum, learning about this WOE and planning DD meals for the past few days. Starting JUDDD today, my first DD.

I tend to go up and down in weight during the course of the year, losing in spring/summer, then gaining back the same 10-15 pounds every fall/winter. I am hoping this will be my long term solution to permanent weight loss. It certainly looks very promising. I would love to hear from anyone with really long term results with JUDDD to encourage me in this endeavor.

In January I started gradually lifting heavier weights with compound movements like deadlifts, squats, and trying bodyweight pullups/chinups. I was carb cycling with higher carb days on weight training days and lower carbs on rest days, and seeing results in how my clothes fit. Now this will be new to me, so few calories on training days here and there. My weights days depend on my work schedule, I train on my off days from work, which vary week to week, so I will really not have control over exercising more on my UD vs DD. This will be quite the experiment....

My goal: I am looking for more fat loss now with some weight loss. Since I am weight training, I will be tracking more the inches lost and how my clothes fit rather than the scale.

WOE: JUDDD Primal
Start Date: April 2012
Hi! Looking forward to May..

I have been reading up this thread as I went through my first Ud,Dd and can't wait to see where this takes me.

I have tried Atkins in the past and most recently following a primal/paleo plan in the hopes of losing excess weight. After initially feeling great it slipped into an unhealthy place for me. Having unpacked my summer wardrobe I find it no longer fits. I have put it all in the lower drawer of my dresser until I am ready to 'shop my closet/dresser'. I figure about 15lbs would do it.

So JUDDD it is! I have had some experience with IF via Primal and hope it 'clicks' again. As I have a very short attention span weighing the am of my up days should give me the positive feedback I need to stay on task.

My first goal is to look amazing for a friends wedding in August. It has been a while since I have felt good enough to 'bother' if you know what I mean. So here is to JUDDING my way into May!

been lurking...........long, sorry

Hi --I have been lurking here for 2 or 3 weeks and have read A LOT (both here and other IF research). I am very interested in JUDDD, but am not sure I am ready. I am currently doing Atkins (since the end of March) after gaining 21 of 40 pounds lost on a 45 day round of HCG in July-Aug. I have at least another 100# to lose. I have been on every diet known, most multiple times. (WW, JC, NS, MF......etc, you know the drill.) I was approved 3 years ago for RnY when I really wanted VSG (denied), but chickened out. And, before restarting Atkins was going to do VSG self-pay in Mexico, but decided to give myself 1 more try. I know that I need low carb because it works best for me and I feel better without. It is probably the wheat, because I have relatives who have been diagnosed with Celiac. Anyway, I was on a 2 1/2 week stall when I found this forum. I have started losing again, though (5# last week), so now I am scared to change. I love everything I've read about JUDDD, and I know that I can use the LC lifestyle in conjunction, but I just don't know how to convince myself to jump in. I know that I do not want to keep yo-yoing anymore. And, even though I know that you have all lost weight and can maintain and love the woe, I haven't really seen more than 1 mention of anyone who lost 100# or so. I would love to have some variety to my meals even every other day....I know I can do the DD, because I did it on HCG. I know this is long and a bit of a ramble, but I just needed to get it out. I want to start, but I don't want to lose control. Thanks.

Welcome crabEjj. I have to wonder, if LC is working for you currently, is there some reason you want to change? JUDDD is great for health benefits and weight loss, but if you lost 5 lbs last week, you probably won't do better than that here (though you could!). I would never tell you NOT to do JUDDD, because it's been a wonderful experience for me. I just don't want you to think it's going to give you super fast results. It all depends on your metabolism and your comittment.

That being said, there are so many wonderful things about this WOE, and you can do it in conjunction with LC if you choose, as you mentioned. You can eat whatever you choose, as long as you respect your calorie limits.

When I started JUDDD, I had nearly 100 pounds to lose to my first goal of 175. Once I get there, I'll reevaluate and see if I want/need to lose any more. There are a few JUDDDers who have lost large amounts of weight, so it definitely can be done! I'm down almost 50 lbs with JUDDD (my first 10ish was with LC and I'm down 57 lbs currently). Please keep reading on the forum, ask any questions you have, and let us know what you decide. We'd be happy to have you here!

Hi All,
Nice to meet you all. So glad I found this sight, I was beginning to think that there were no current threads anywhere!!!
Until last week I had never heard of this WOE. I did Atkins for a while last year with no real joy. Saw an article last week on internet and started straight away. I'm really excited but am also scared that it's not going to work for me (I'm sure my metabolism is stuck on ZERO) Have now been doing this for just over a week and have stuck to it and have found it not as difficult as I thought. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.....I really am xx

Welcome Lexy. Many of us came to JUDDD with what we thought were broken metabolisms, and found out they weren't broken. We just hadn't yet found the way to get them moving. JUDDD seems to heal sluggish metabolisms!

CrabEjj and Lexy. I have great confidence that you can accomplish your goals, losing over 100lbs, which my own daughter, MintQ8, is working towards, and healing broken metabolisms.

Thank you! I'm doing GREAT! I've gotten in about 1200 cals since noon. I'm stuffed and freaking out about how I'm going to get more in. I can do it though.

I ate a grain free lunch (chicken with roasted mushrooms in a gorgonzola cheese sauce.) and then took my kids to ben and jerrys where I ate a sundae. vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, walnuts and whipped cream. I don't feel bloated at all. I just feel full.

Psyched for my dd tomorrow!

Hi there! I'm new too. It's not actually a low calorie plan at all-it's more a calorie cycling plan. You eat low calorie every other day.

I would suggest starting by reading the stickied threads, they are full of great information. That or go to the website of the doctor who wrote the Alternate Day Diet and check out the info there.

I actually found this forum to be more informative though!

Start Date: 16/04/2014 - just another restart :)
Hi there! Just another JUDDD-Newbie...

I've been a lurking reader for weeks, but now I decided to become a more active member of this community.

I'm from Germany, from Munich more precisely, so my English may not be perfect, sorry.

A few weeks ago, I gave JUDDD a first short try, not sure whether I could manage DDs. But I could and it was so easy!

So now, here's a new Juddder! Started yesterday with a nice and easy DD.
I'm female, 36 years old, 5'7'' and - today 142 lbs (64.5 kg). I'd love to lose those famous "last 10 pounds" (or the last 5, 6 or 7 lbs, we will see).

I've already lost 55 lbs two years ago, most of them with LowCarb (but not very strict LowCarb). And now I will lose the tiny little rest - with JUDDD, I hope.

Welcome Monkeypenny and congrats on your losses so far!

And if you think your English is imperfect....you should see my German.

I'm always amazed at people like you! You do better with written English than many people who don't have another language. I look forward to seeing you around.
