It's nice being able to choose whatever you want for the 500 cal DD rather than the limited hcg menu . Been there . Although I do focus on protein for my DDs, as it was recommended to me to do here on this forum. I do use some similar menus from HCG, too.

That might be cd. I haven't been this weight for many years. It's like a new low for me. It may be that my body just wants to be here. I'm going to try going without the breads this week and see what happens. I will most likely start with them again but I just want to see what happens.

Sorry the link to the recipe didn't work. I guess you can put links in posts on here . Anyway, it's delicious. The crust actually is crispy but it's made with mozzarella cheese, eggs, coconut flour, baking powder.

I just googled it. Is this the ingredients?
2 cups whole or part-skim organic mozzarella cheese, shredded
2 large organic eggs
2 tablespoons golden flax meal (optional)
2 tablespoons unflavored whey protein powder or coconut flour (optional)
1/2 teaspoon aluminum-free baking powder

Yes, that's it. I never add the flax and I use the coconut flour instead of the protein powder

Okay, I am going to take the plunge here. I have been studying this for a couple of days and mulling it over for a couple of weeks. I am doing LC right now, since last January. Was way down in my weight, but in January started gaining. Not sure why, but every year that is when I start to gain. This looks interesting and doable but for those days you want to eat out with girlfrinds or go out in the eveing and have some wine. I gather that is doable as well. It's not like I go out all the time.

I need to lose 10 (it was 5, sigh). I work out hard at the gym 6 days a week, you would think I could keep weight off. Guess your body gets used to anything. AND the older I get the harder it gets to get it off AND to keep it off.

Wish me luck and I hope and pray this will work permanently!

Thank you. I think the best part about it is the support. I like to know I am not alone in this and when (not if) I mess up. Also for questions answered and a lot of laughs.

Welcome Tilly. JUDDD does allow you those times out without worry. Sometimes you have to juggle your days a bit, but it works out.

This is hard. Half way through the day and being good. Unfortunately, my brain says I can't have much food, so that is exactly what I WANT!!!!!! I can do this, I can do this, I can do this.

Well, no. My only concession to starting this yesterday was a cup of store bought (Sweet Frog) frozen yogurt as our Valentine dessert.

Just do your best today and enjoy a wonderful UD tomorrow and aim for a better DD on Friday.

It is easier to do a DD if you are well nourished and can reflect on the joys of UDs past and future, lol.

New to JUDDD

Hello all,

I have been busy reading all the post about this way of eating and it sounds great. I am going to start tomorrow with an DD, since I ate way to many calories today(left over cupcakes).
Any tricks getting through the first DD day?

Make sure you're going into it well nourished from today (had enough protein, late enough in the day). I don't eat until lunch on DDs and have coffee, tea, or broth with serrano chilis to get me there. If I absolutely need something in the morning, I'll have a Fage 0% yogurt because it has lots of protein for low calories.

It will probably take you a few DDs to figure out if you need protein or lots of bulky veggies or a combination of the two to get you through.

My favorite DD menu looks something like this:

B: Black coffee
S: Bouillon cube with serrano chili
L: Lettuce, roma tomato, 1/4 C imitation crab meat, Walden Farms 1000 island dressing. Add 1 whole cucumber, peeled and sliced with a wedge of light laughing cow cheese for a very filling lunch.
S: Another bouillon broth/serrano if needed
D: Wendy's small chili, or Lean Cuisine

This all comes to under 400 calories, so there's some wiggle room if you need it for breakfast or snacks.

Welcome Tilly and Giggles.

DD tips, shoot for under 500, but if you need to do a 100 or so more to make it through, it's really ok. You can start higher and work your way down.

Protein works for me. I can't wait to eat till lunch (many do). I get headachy and shaky. 1 scrambled egg and some decaf black coffee is enough to get me most of the way there though. If I can't quite make it, some broth with an egg white stirred in takes up the slack.

Lunch is usually the cabbage dish that has it's own thread on here.

Supper is lean protein and veggies.

Lots of warm decaf beverages through the day and lots of water too. (I can't do caffeine at all).

Also, staying busy helps a lot.

Thank you, mykidsteacher. I got through it, yeah! Now on to an UP day. Don't think that will be a problem,
I think I will stock up on the cabbage. I was fine but just the thoughts of not being able to eat got me to wanting to eat! I hope that will get better as I get into the swing of things. Does it? Before dinner I did snag a piece of cooked chicken breast and snarfed down a couple of bites. (not a pretty picture ) BUT!!!! got me through dinner, which consisted of some lemon chicken soup I had made a few days ago. Lucky for me my daughter does not like it and it is VERY filling. I also had a side dish of steamed broccoli with lots of water. And you are right about being busy, I got on this darn computer. Could play here all day! Thanks again for your encouragement.

Hi friendly JUDDD people!
I've been avidly reading these threads this week since I started JUDDD last Saturday. There is so much useful info here! I learned about JUDDD via Kissa and MintQ8's postings on a different part of the boards.
I've bounced up and down as much as 30lbs all my adult life. LC had somehow stopped working for me, and now (at age 50) I am so excited to find this new WOE that seems like an answer to my prayers. I hope it'll mean I'll finally be able to maintain a stable weight
The first week has been fine - and it works
I will do the best I can while I'm on vacation in the Caribbean next week - but it's great to know I can JUDDD away any damage on my return!

Starting today! - Will it work if your have had a thyroidectomy?

Hi My name is Lora. I am starting today with an UD. I have lost weight with HCG, but I just can't do another round! My only concern is will this work without a thyroid?

Thanks!

Lora

Was your thyroid removed Lora? How did hcg diet go without a thyroid?

Jeanne and Lori, you will love it here. I am sure if you are on thyroxin or similar you will do fine Lori.

Jan, I am thrilled you have decided to post over here. It is wonderful that JUDDD is working to keep you in maintenance, after all my raving about how great it is. It would have been a bit embarrassing if you had hated it!

I decided to stop 'thinking about it' and just jump in. If I think about it, I'll never do it! I haven't been able to lose with LC since getting pregnant in August & miscarrying in October. I'm tried of my pants not fitting right because my body shape changed from that - I'm holding more weight in my lower abdomen than before.

I'm browsing the DD recipe thread and copying ideas. I'm finding it really hard to shift my thinking away from LC. I'm not finding much so far because I'll never touch those shiratake noodles again, once scarred me for life!

Today is my first DD, since I have a standing lunch date on Saturdays... no clue how I'll handle that next Saturday!
