Thanks, Laurie.

DDs will be pretty easy for me. The reason I'm now newly interested in JUDD is because when I tried Dukan's diet at first it seemed natural that every other day I just was not very hungry. I kept track of calories/points (tracking on WW site) and it was working out to under 500 every other day. I stuck to eating pure protein and drinking lots of water and green tea with a few non-starchy veggies thrown in every now and then. The weight just fell off.

I kind of got away from that in the last month or so and started eating grains and leaning more towards WW points plus every day complete with tracking. It's been like my scale is stuck. I've lost more inches but I think it's due to exercise. I'm ready to get out of this pause phase and see my scale drop again. Hopefully JUDD will make it happen.

I'm not planning to go nuts on carbs. But on UDs I'll relax a bit and not be too LC strict. We shall see what happens. Wondering if this is a good week to start. Reason being DSIL just sent a big box of chocolates as a gift! Oh no! Me and chocolate should not be in the same room....

Still, this may be the perfect time to start. Haven't been tempted today by the chocolate. Yesterday I indulged. But not too much and I'm counting that as an UD.

Hiya! Well, I don't know why....I've seen JUDDD mentioned many times, but it never caught my notice until just a couple of days ago. I figure I can do ANYTHING for one day, so this seems like a good thing to try (especially since I have had a slow gain).

So I had my first DD yesterday, and it was pretty hard, but I have some ideas of things to make it a bit easier (I used a recipe for MM that had too many calories in it....going to use one of the lower-calorie ones tomorrow, so I can have more quantity). Close to bedtime I actually got up to go get myself some canned salmon, and decided at the last minute to NOT set a precedent of stepping over the boundaries, especially on the first day. So, yay me.

My other issue is that I am going on a cruise Xmas Eve. That would normally be a DD, but while I may be **strong**, I am not delusional

I usually don't do too poorly with my eating during a cruise anyway, so for the five days, I'll just keep in mind that I really don't want to gain during this cruise, and perhaps limit some of the indulgences I normally allow during a cruise.

So my next DD after tomorrow will be December 29, and I'll move forward from that. Nice to see a lot of excellent recipes here! (And surprisingly, I didn't jump out of bed this morning and dive headfirst into the food, either!) Maybe this means there's hope!

and nice to see you here!! I think you will love JUDDD, and I also think your way of thinking about starting this WOE is just amazing and very inspirational to those thinking about coming on board! You have already figured out some good ideas and know that you will probably eat a bit more on that wonderful cruise and can just get right back on the JUDDD train when you get home! This, in itself, is a BIG plus for making JUDDD a WOE for life, if you so choose!

Have fun on the cruise and see you when you get back!

Hey, Steve. You really need to hit those numbers. 300 calories is a lot to be off by. Are you sure that those are enough calories for your up days? I eat at LEAST 1900, and I am a female who is 5'8" and I weigh 142. I am not sure if that is enough for you.

If you can, start eating a little earlier on your UD, or if you drink wine at all , that is another way of boosting your numbers at the end of the day if you please.
Nut butters are helpful if you still eat EFGT. I am not super familiar with that plan, but I can tell you that the minute I nudged up my calories on my UD, the weight literally started melting off. Have a look at the December weight tracking thread to get some ideas on your caloric numbers.
It is vital that you get plenty on your UD. You will stall if you don't.
Hope this helps!

and nice to see you join our JUDDD family! I want to suggest strongly that you make those UD calories. They are there to help JUDDD work it's magic and "less is NOT more", so to speak when doing JUDDD. Here is a few links that may help!

Hello all! I hope you all had a great holiday so far! I must say I am struggling this week. I am trying to keep my calories under control. I haven't actually kept my UD and DD. I'm trying to MD. I know one thing is for sure I DON'T WANT TO OVER EAT ANY MORE!!! I know next week I will jump right back on this WOE and be a success! Thanks for all the past encouragement and right now I need a lot. I love reading all the posts! I know this works but somehow with Christmas I went off the track! Have a great day everyone!

Well....confession time.
I am coming off 4 UDs in a row. I am not proud of myself, and only 2 of the UDs in a row were planned, but thank goodness I'm able to just haul myself back on the horse this a.m.
I'm not going to panic about my weight this a.m.

I'm starting DD today for the 1st time. I saw Beeb's post in LCF, mentioning JUDDD, so I thought I'd try it! So far I've had 2.5 eggbeaters (75 cal); plain cofee, chicken noodle soup(150); plain tea; small can plain tuna drained (120), and tons of water, which leaves me with 255 for rest of day.

Hi Everyone!

Hello to all of you JUDDD'ers! This WOE sounds great. Here is a little about my recent weight loss journey. It has been a battle for my entire life and I am hoping that I will win the war!

Well, I started LC in June of 2009 and lost about 50 pounds in the first 10 months. I have been on and off since and have gained. I have been reading LCF and find it very motivating. Sooo.... I was trying to motivate myself back into hardcore LC last week and found you! I had never heard of JUDDD before and it seemed so "doable"! I got the book, skimmed through the science, read the instructions, and here I am. I am hoping that participating in the forum rather than lurking will help to keep me on track. I am very excited about getting to know you all and can't wait to see how this works for me. I began this morning with a 105cal. protein shake! Plan to do 4 of them throughout the day with a little wiggle room. I also have a 90 cal. per serving chicken soup protein powder i may add to my day to mix things up a bit! I will eat tomorrow, right? lol

KAS! Great to see you. You're much braver than I was trying to stick to protein shakes on your first DD! I know some people do really well on that. I have to have something to chew. DH is doing JUDDD too and he usually has a shake in the morning, then low cal stuff the rest of the day.

I think posting is a really good way to keep accountable, so I recommend keeping active in the forum. There are lots of great people here!

and nice to see you joining our JUDDD family! I think you are very brave too to be doing shakes. I know I would have failed after my first DD if I did that. I also need to "chew" my food and I found that lots of veggies, protein and soups help to make my DDs go so much easier.

Good luck and looking forward to seeing you posting lots and lots!!

IDK if Kas has something different, but I've used a chicken soup mix called Proti-thin that is high protein/low carb. I can't post a link but you can Google Proti-thin soup. It's a bit expensive but convenient! If convenience isn't too much of a factor, you can always put a teaspoon or two of unflavored gelatin in a cup of broth for some extra protein, or an unflavored/unsweetened protein powder, or make an egg drop soup--use just the whites for lower calories.
