Hi .. guess what my name is? Lori! haha! So, I've been low carbing with Atkins for the last 4 1/2 weeks. I did Atkins before in 2001 and did quite well. After some serious medical issues I started putting some weight on and am now at a place medically where I can concentrate a little on the 25 lbs that I gained over the last year.

As for these last 4 1/2 weeks ... it's been tough physically. I've been very worn out and fought constant diarrhea the whole time. I lost 8 lbs the first week (water weight - glycogen stores) and 3 the 2nd week. Now for the last 2 1/2 weeks I've just stayed at about the same weight in spite of staying on induction. So, I hesitated going into OWL though I have only 15 lbs to lose. I was investigating JUDD and yesterday decided to take the plunge. Mostly because I wanted to be able to enjoy my fav foods from time to time without the guilt or instant water weight gain and then the days after waiting to lose the weight again.

I used yesterday as my UD and because I had started late in the day, I didn't make my full calorie intake but I have to tell you that I felt like a new person this morning! So much more energy and a positive outlook that I haven't felt in weeks. I might be crazy ... and may change my mind by the end of this .. my first DD ... but, I am excited about JUDD.

Here is my info:
5"10' - currently 165.2lbs - looking for 150lbs (maybe even 145) DD= under 500 UD= 1820

Today's DD Menu:
Black Coffee, Whey Protein Drink, Soup (Chicken bouillion, zucchini,spinach, celery), String Cheese, Turkey Meatballs, Grape Tomatoes and maybe a Swiss Miss Diet Cocoa before bed. Without the cocoa it's 438 calories and with it's 463.

How exciting that I can eat yogurt, oatmeal, etc again and I can even have a piece of my birthday cake tomorrow on my UD. Woo Hoo! I really think that it's great that there aren't all these forbidden foods for the rest of my life. I have to admit that it felt weird last night having a scoop of ice cream with chocolate syrup before bed and still being under my calories. I was afraid that I'd wake up with an 8 lb gain but instead, I lost .3 lbs and felt great physically and mentally.

I'm really excited. So hello to all. I've been reading quite a bit for a while here.

Welcome Lori!!! I'm only doing JUDDD 5 days and I've lost 2.5lbs already before that I was trying to low carb but failing every evening and putting on weight!!

Hi everyone, I've decided to try JUDDD starting this past Saturday. Everything is still new to me but coming to this site has been tremendously helpful and very encouraging! Thanks for all the posts and information. I'm trying to add carbs back in but am afraid of the scale jumping up a lot so I think I'll add them back in slowly. Today is an UP day!! I started Saturday at 168.2, jumped up Sunday to 168.6 but am back down to 167 today. So far, I'm loving this plan!

Good Morning!

Started this WOE today! Went to Dr. J's web site and got my numbers for calories: 1594 and the other number was only 333! So I went to 35% and got 558! I think the 558 is what I will use, hope that will work ok!

Got a few questions!!

Is there a daily, weekly or monthly thread?

How do I get one of those cute "tickers?"

Sometimes at the very last minute DH has a traveling job and I go along and we then fast food it!! If it is not a DD what do you recommend I do the following day? Should I do 2 DD in a row then to make up or what ?

Is there a thread for questions?

Hi Shari and Welcome!

When I started juddd, I had been doing l/c under 25 a day....Like you plan to, I added carbs back slowly...and am now under 100...and I have had no desernable water weight rush on.

With Juddd, you may well find you have more up and down bounces on the scale...but the overall trend line will be down!

I started juddd with only a few lbs to lose...and it it took me 7 weeks to lose 9lbs....whist enjoying the foods I had so missed on LC (mainly oatmeal, scones and peanut M&m's!)

Sounds like you are off to a great start...keep us posted on yourprogress!

We no longer have a monthy thread. There is ongoinging Weight Managment ,Newbies, Woo-hoos and recipes threads. Other threads are just put up when we have questions, or things we wanted to share!

OMGoodness, I just had a fun pack as a treat since the chicken place I went do did not have sweet potato fries. I entered it into *********** and am still only at 32 carbs for the day with 700 more cals left for dinner. Loving it!

Gonna introduce myself...HEYYYY!!!

LOL - A little of my story...in 2004 I lost 55 pounds on LC alone...maintained on that for a good 5 years and then.....LASAGNE....PIZZA...blah blah blah...gained back 40 pounds and now it has got to go!!!

I started back LC a few weeks ago and while I am losing, more inches than pounds right now, I don't have the appetite (NEVER got that appetite back even after going off plan - LOVE LC - that will keep me losing on LC...so I am going to give JUDDD a try....

I've posted all over this board...LOL...so I won't say much else...

But HEYYYYYY!!!!
