What Vitamins/Minerals/Etc. Do You Take?

I take fish oil, a probiotic, a multivitamin, and Vitamin D3 most days when I can remember!

What do you take?

I take a daily multivitamin for the *silver-haired age group*, except I often don't take it every day. I do take 5,000 units of vitamin D3 daily, or most days. I have fish oil caps which I take occasionally. That's about it for me.

I usually eat a very large variety of fruits and vegetables as well as a variety of meats, and eggs and dairy in various forms.. milk, cream, yogurt, cheeses, etc.

I assume I'm covering most of the bases. I sure feel great. And doc says I'm doing well, weight is under control, and test results are always good.

At the moment I take a hair skin & nails multivitamin, and my nightly magnesium.

I need to start up my D3, and my L-glutamine (these tom cravings are killing me!)

When on low carb I felt sooo bad...weak and tired...I bought a FORTUNES worth of stuff at my local health store...nothing made a bit of difference!

Since starting juddd...and moving up to moderate carb levels, I feel so much better...if only I had known back then!

hugs

So.. I think on a DD this would pretty much fill up your tummy, leaving little appetite or hunger for anything more.

Joking here. You are the proof of the pudding as far as this regimen goes, and your apparent health and fitness level speaks to the great job these supplements are doing in contributing to your well being.

OK, so my next ? is: Do what you take make you feel any better, the same or no different?

I feel much better when I take the probiotic, fish oil and Vitamin D3. But when I take the multivit I feel no different, even when I'm taking it everyday.

Not sure if I have a good multivit here and that could be the reason. But I do know if I don't take the D3 and the probiotic I feel yucky after a couple of days, tired and rundown like.

Tbh... The only difference I have noticed is with magnesium. It makes me sleep well and keeps me regular.
I DO notice if I forget my multivit.. But only cos when I DO take it, it makes my wee bright green!

Multi , Vitamine D, fish oil and or flax seed oil and a SPECIAL vitamine E.

Vitamine E comes in 8 different isomers. 4 tocopherols and 4 tocotrienols
The tocotrienols offer a lot of health advantages that the cheaper tocopherols
don't. After looking at the studies I decided that the extra expence may be
more than worth it but I will leave the Google search up to you.

Omg you guys are funny. Up in the middle of the night. Thanks for what you said pat. Sometimes I think I'm a little too obsessive but since I started juddd and weight lifting and the carb and calorie cycling I haven't binged once. I haven't even had the desire too. I think it's wonderful. I was feeling so helpless to my eating disorder there for awhile. Life is very good and positive right now.

Good for you, Shelly. I think it is not only possible to change ourselves, I think it is probable that we will change, that we can't help but change as decades go by, as we journey through life. It's just important to put ourselves in the position of benefiting positively from the changes that are possible.

We know that studies have shown over and over the benefits of cycling calories between low and high numbers. Studies have shown the health benefits we should be able to expect from eating this way. I strongly suspect that some of the increased health status affects our brain as well as our other organs, so there is no reason NOT to expect JUDDD to be able to work toward normalizing our mental responses to food and consumption.

And I'm not saying it happens immediately. Day one of JUDDD.. no more binge issues. etc. But only that as the days go by, the weeks pass, the plan is followed, one day you become conscious that OMG! I don't feel the compulsions that used to plague me!

I am so thrilled to read how you have changed your life as you have changed your physical body. You are definitely a testament to calorie cycling! Well, and all that other hard work too!

I am taking a multi vitamin, vitamin d, flax seed oil, rice bran oil and palm seed oil.

Vitamin E is found in 8 different isomers 4 of these are tocopherols and 4 are tocotrienols. Up untill lately all the studies on vitamine E have involved the much
more common tocopherols. These 2 different forms have a different effect in the
body. Where as the tocopherols can raise your blood pressure and don't have much
affect on your chlosterol the tocotrienols may lower your blood pressure, lower LDL
chlosterol and triglecerides while raising HDL chlosterol. Palm seed oil and rice bran oil
have a fair amount of these much harder to obtain tocotrienols which is why I take
the rice bran oil and palm seed oil.

I take so many things I couldn't list them-maybe I need a memory booster!! Anyway, I take a b complex for depression. When I have run out and gone a few days I get so blue and then have gotten more, I see a real difference in a day. I try to not run out with these. Other supps I cycle in and out according to what I read. I think 5HTP and Gaba are helping me sleep with the magnesium citrate. I still don't sleep great, tho. Maybe until 4 or 5.

Anne, can you tell me about the B complex, please? I have seasonal depression and I'm wondering if this, on top of the D3 I take, will help more.

Thanks

Beeb, I have read that B Complex will work for depression in a % of people and is ineffective for others. It definitely works for me. I take pill B complex-just the best at Walmart and a sub-lingual liquid every morning. These I just buy where ever I am-Walgreens, Walmart, Target (I think). I can tell they help me a lot. Most supps I can't tell much but take because recs from others. If I see where I read that I'll let you know.

Beeb, I do take D3 for my seasonal depression and I think it does help as an article
at the Mayo Clinic said it does. But I was just taking about 3,000 iu. a day. I just got
my D3 tested and it was ok at 52.6 but some experts say it should be a little higher
perhaps in the 65 to 80 range so I am going up to 5,000 iu. a day.

Hi! I take D3 too, prescribed by my rheumatologist for fibromyalgia. He told me to take 5000 units, which I could just buy right off the counter at Sam's Club.

I take *ranges* for these test results with some scepticism. I was just within the normal range, down on the low end. My PCP wasn't going to do anything as I was "normal". So glad the specialist told me to take the stuff.

Here's the remarkable thing. I almost never have any fibro flares anymore. And as you all know.. I'm SoHappy!
