Yay! A new and hopefully ongoing thread on our JUDDD Forum where we can post our daily or weekly weigh-in results, track our weight loss progress, and keep ourselves accountable.

Wishing us all great success in our weight management efforts as we also improve our health and appreciate the freedom JUDDD gives us to enjoy the Feast of Life as we live it.

goooood morning!

i posted this in the looooong thread, but thought i'd stick it here, too.

yesterday was an UD and i ate carbs...i wanted to test the waters. i won't even say what it was as it was pretty lame...lol...but wanted to see what would happen....ok, fine...it was pepperoni pizza pocket thingy...lol. i ate it at lunch and then VLCarb the rest of the day. i was up 0.4 today and TOM is arrived today as well. so, not too shabby, i don't think.

today is a DD. after last thursday, the day we had to go to the ER for his fever, that turned into a fasting day for most of the day...i kinda liked that. so am going to just do water/diet pop/green tea most of the day. we are starting our wed night programs back up at church tonight and that includes a supper meal, so i will fast thru the day and have a little bit at church. i really like the freedom of JUDDD and am a little excited to be able to just eat what is there and not worry that it may not be LC...kwim?

as for carbs...i think i will continue to experiment...i don't want to be soooo carb sensitive that i can't enjoy a little here and there. but will be primarily LC still.

we head to the hospital for chemo and blood work this afternoon. but this is the "easy" one so should be uneventful.

Hi everyone! First of all, last week's weight loss: 0.2 pounds. This is giving me a weekly average of 0.4, which I will gladly accept, because it means that I am thisclose to maintaining. That's a skill I want my body to learn!

I won't be around much over the next few days because of Rosh Hashanah. I am doing allllll the cooking for two big dinners, and I have decided that the easiest thing is to have MDs for yesterday, today and tomorrow, and then a DD on Friday. I love the flexibility of my fusion of WW & JUDDD, because it lets me do things like this without a twinge of guilt.

Wishing everyone a Happy and a Healthy New Year! ((((Group hug))))

MORNING ALL!! Great thread!!!

I am holding steady between 140 and 140.2, depending on the day (UD or DD). I think I have found the right combo of calories for both days to keep me at this average weight. I like this weight, looks good on me. If I go up or down a pound or 2 I'm still fine with that.

I just stepping on the scale after an UD with only .2 pounds gained. Heck, if I burp that .2 would probably be gone anyway!

Yay! Also moving my morning check-in post from the long thread to this one!

I had one of my all-time favorite treats yesterday-- a big old Morning Glory Muffin, and I am still down half a pound this morning to 183! Awesome!

Here is why it is awesome-- I was close to 183 a week ago right after a severe 3 day egg fast. Now I am at 183 again and I know I am carrying water weight-- so the loss is of actual fat! YAY!

The one thing I have noticed is that my DDs are a lot easier than my UDs. On a DD I know I am eating a set strict menu and that's the end of it.

It's the UDs that are a bit of a struggle for me. I think it's that I haven't adjusted yet to the freedom of the UD and I'm like a kid in a candy store. And once I have that first (metaphorical) piece of candy I find that I have urges to keep going, which I have to really pull back on.

This ^^^^ will change and before you know it! I am usually hungrier on my UDs but I'm finding I can't eat as much food as I use to so getting to the top of my calories can be challenge at times. I can have everything now but just not hungry enough for that "everything"! You will see, it just keeps getting easier and easier!

OH.... a Morning Glory Muffin!!! Wow, I haven't had one of those in so long.........next UD, here I come!!

I have lost 4 pounds in the first 2 weeks back on JUDDD. 2 pounds each week. I have my hopes up that this trend will continue, but will be satisfied if it gets smaller. My DD are not as low as they should be...hoping I can get them down some as I get used to this.

Linda, I sure hope so! One thing I think will help me is to make sure that metaphorical candy (in this case the muffin) is saved for the end of the day. If I go there too early it seems to set me off.

I adore Morning Glory Muffins! I just got some oat fiber in and I want to try to create a low calorie version with that, flax meal and almond flour. I'll let you know how it goes!

and great advice about leaving our "goodies" until the end of the day. Sugar (and sweeteners) have been know to do this exact thing to me, also. I keep these to the very last snack while I'm cruising LCFs in the evening!

I'm doing very well. I am down on the scale, but, will wait until Sunday before I get too excited, lol. My fitness class is going better. This week we are working with free weights. The class meets on T/TH. I didn't walk yesterday, but, I was right back to it today. I've increased my mileage. Today is an UP day for me. I had a sweet treat, but, I decided to have it early in the day for plenty of time to burn it off, LOL. I am loving this JUDDD program!

My weight has been all over the place since I started weight lifting and then with doing the refeed last week. So, after my refeed I went up almost 5lbs. It took 2 mornings for the highest to hit, which I heard was normal. I went from 144 to 149.5. As of this morning I was 145.5 so I'm losing the water weight. If I am down to at 143 by sat morning I will do another refeed. If I'm not I will wait until the next weekend. Its really tough trying to find a good balance where I can keep and continue my muscle but try to lose some fat at the same time. I have had to really up my protein and keep my carbs low. So far so good. I am back in full ketosis. Took me about 3 days from the refeed. My muscls are looking amazing and I'm so addicted to lifting heavy. I'm reading the new rules of lifting for women right now too and its so nice to see weight lifting being ok for women. You should see my arms and shoulders. Amazing!

good evening...

Noah had another great day! had his "easy" chemo this afternoon. good checkup with dr...just love that guy! blood counts look good.

his next treatment will be the "big" one...all three drugs and he'll be inpatient for that one...oct 7. so we have nearly 10 days of normalacy!

fasting DD went great! i only had green tea/diet pop all day and then i had a very small serving of mashed potatoes with some roast beef & gravy and a salad with lite italian. and a cup of coffee w/ HH at church. i doubt it was even 500 cal. i feel great! no hunger right now. it came and went throughout the day, but never felt horrible or like i *had* to eat something or i would faint.

UD tomorrow!

good morning....

after my IF, DD i am down a pound! (yes, even after a little mashed taters! and TOM starting yesterday.) so weight wise i am 134.4, 0.8 above LDW for reference for my former hcg buds . getting closer!! UD today. not sure what i'll eat to day yet.

i'm quite surprised at how good i feel doing the intermittent fasting on my DD. i did a stint with IF before and felt, i dunno, i suppose deprived would be the word. i was counting the minutes till my eating window opened. i didn't like that somewhat obsessive, desperate feeling. but doing it one day and knowing tomorrow will be different makes it incredibly doable. i enjoy the clean empty feeling thru the day and then enjoying a small meal at the end of the day. very strange, actually.

hope you all have a great day!

Up a lb...and after a good DD, too! Right in the middle of my cycle, so not sure WHERE it came from? I had been at 139.75 for 5 days..so was expecting a little drop..not a little climb!

I have been doing so well at Juddding...up days about 1750...down days about 500 (though my last day I just couldnt eat more than 1450, for some reason!)

I am so close to goal now..I just want to get there.

Am feeling a little despondant... so any words of explaination, or even just a kick up the bum, would be welcome!

Thanks
Jo

Jo,

could it be water retention, especially in the middle of your cycle? Hang in there. I bet you will drop back down with a loss tomorrow.

Morning all! Yesterday was a DD and I am up 4 ounces this morning. A bit of a mystery, but them's the breaks, right?

Marie, you seem to be making wonderful progress!

LuvLatte, sometimes you just have an off day. You're doing exactly the right thing-- picking yourself up, dusting yourself off and starting over.

dazygyrl, so very glad to hear that Noah had a good day!

Thanks, Ann. I fluctuate, up and down, but, overall down, and I am very pleased. To be honest, I've been eating quite a bit of junk on my up days, but, I think I almost have it out of my system, lol.

Awww.... I'm sorry. It's hard sometimes when we do everything as correctly as we possibly can and, our body doesn't respond immediately as we would like to have happen. I wish weight loss could be absolutely linear... and immediate... or at least, within one day's time! But it just doesn't work that way.

We sort of expect that we'll maybe be down a bit after a DD and up a smidge after an UD, just because of the difference between there still being some food in us or us being pretty empty. But even something as simple as that can fool us, and we can also be up after a DD and down after an UD. Who can guess?

And young women, especially, can be such a chemical soup that we never know what's happening with us! Just that it can result in water weight gain *out of the blue* or a little loss, just because.

And you know this isn't a weight gain that has anything whatsoever to do with FAT weight gain. You didn't eat an extra 3,500 calories of fuel to make that extra pound be stored fat. So it's water retention for some reason, maybe having something to do with ovulation, or with doing something different in an exercise program, or because some food caused the water retention, or a bunch of things we can't even bring to mind. It's just water. It'll whoosh away again.

It's just frustrating because we want to see numbers on a scale go down! Only! And pretty darned fast! And on a regular basis!

Sigh.... wish our bodies worked like that.

You're doing a great job. Just keep it up. You know that the slimmer you become, the closer to goal, the slower going it usually is and the harder to make the body give up those last few pounds. So patience.

And also, begin the change in your mindset now of thinking about eating this way for overall health and well being as well as for weight loss. If you have been losing weight, your UD calories must be set about right for you, right for you at this time in your life. So now, all you have to do is continue doing JUDDD well, and your body will do its thing, and sooner or later you'll reach goal.

Good morning, my JUDDD BUDDDs!

Dazy: So glad to hear Noah's doing well, and you're doing great with your eating!! Yay for the drop!

Jo: HUGS!!!!!! You've been donig so great! Keep it up!!!

Ann: You too! And thanks for the kind words!!!

Marie and Pat and Linda: you ladies are always such inspirations! Heck, I think that's why I love this place! Everyone is all loving and supportive and POSITIVE!!!!

I had a good DD yesterday. Didn't eat (wasn't hungry from all that food I ate the night before) until 3pm. So if almost like an IF, huh? Ended the day with 412 calories.

I'm afraid to weigh myself though... I know I like how my body feels when I do it right, and from your experiences, I know it works. But it seems like with all my hormones (perimeopausal? and on bc pills) that I'm afraid I won't lose and will get discouraged... But I won't give up. I will keep it up and take it one day at a time.

Have a great day my friends!

Kristine

But you might keep this is mind, Kristine. There is no good reason not to weigh yourself on a reasonably regular basis, just to keep tabs on where your weight is running. If you are not losing, the thing to do wouldn't be to get discouraged and give up, but to begin working on whatever tweaks might be needed to bring about some weight loss.

Because there is no reason for JUDDD to not work, if there is any diet out there in the world that would work for you, as JUDDD can be used with any plan. So if you've latched onto too many carbs by switching to JUDDD, you might need to scale the carb level down overall, or if you have figured your calorie numbers too high, you might have to readjust those numbers. (Usually if the carbs have been increased much, the calories might have to be adjusted downward a bit anyway...) And if you aren't measuring out all of your food intake and tracking that, you really aren't doing JUDDD anyway, as it's all built on calorie control, etc. And if you just *guesstimate* your food quantities and calories, well.. good luck. LOLOL

So, I'm thinking you should encourage yourself to keep stepping on that scale occasionally to see how you are fairing on JUDDD to this point. If anything needs to be tweaked, now is as good a time as any to do it.

And if it's working for you, how great would that be?!!!

Yeah, maintenance isn't just one straight ongoing stable weight, I found out. It's in a pretty constant state of flux, so I just sort of keep my weight vacillating between my declared high and low, and plan meals accordingly.

You're sure doing a great job, Linda! I love reading your weight loss/maintenance adventures and your menus! Sure glad your a JUDDD BUDDD!

And if you just *guesstimate* your food quantities and calories, well.. good luck. LOLOL
Awww....

Thanks Pat...it was just what i needed to hear! The last bit is especially important, for all of us!
Have saved it in my Juddd words of wisdom" folder on my desk top.

I am horribly bloated and uncomfortable, tummy wise today, and after googling it...it could be symptoms of ovulation...not fair..its bad enough to have tom interfering!

Hugs
Jo
