In the scientific lititure there are several studies using this WOE that do not refer to
it as JUDDD but "modified alternet day fasting" . One of those that I read mentioned
after a while people tended to eat more and more on there DD's. I think I fell into that
patern and was eating to much on some of my DD's and even just skiping a few. I also
tried to change diabetic medications which may have caused me some weight gain too.
So geting off that med. and having 3 good dd's I have lost 7 of that 8 lbs I put back
on lately. Well today will be a full day in more ways than one. Then monday I may do a total fast. I realy don't find a total fast much harder than trying to do just 500 calories.
In a way putting that 8 lbs back on was a learning experience. I found I need to pay more attention to keeping my DD calories low and just going off plan for a few days is
not the end of the world. In the past if this had happened I would have just continued to
overeat while planning to get back to my diet tomorrow! Well merry Christmas everyone
and hopeing you have a good DD, UD , MD or FD whichever works for you.

Isn't JUDDD awesome?! 7.5 pounds in "7 real diet days" is amazing! Way to go!

I'm happy for you, E.W., on getting some of that weight back off. This whole thing is a learning process, and JUDDD is so forgiving. I, too, tend to have an all or nothing attitude, and in the past, if I screwed up, I'd want to put off getting back on the horse. This way, I'm RELIEVED to get back on the horse, lol.

I'm having an eating free-for-all today, then tomorrow will be a strict DD. You know, I've realized that no matter what I let myself eat on an UD, I'm able to be very strict on the DDs. I've never cheated myself on a DD, because I know that's a very important part of the magic. Respecting those DD calories seem to be the key to this whole deal. And always knowing that I can eat more tomorrow gets me through the rougher times, although it hasn't been that hard for me. (After all, I've done about 9 rounds of hCG over the last 2.25 years.)

I'm not going near the scales at least until Tuesday.

I braved the scales and was delighted to see 126.6, that is a number I had so little hope of seeing a couple of months ago. I have never felt so confident after a Christmas of wonderful indulgence.

MD today.

Good Morning

I really enjoyed my holiday this year. Yesterday did turn into an upday for me(too much wine) but ready for a great DD today.

My UD day yesterday resulted in a 1.5 gain. Probably water weight. Did have wine and that would do it probably. I am having my DD today and I think a MD tomorrow instead of going right back to an UD.

I thought I'd say hi on this thread since I just read the first few and the last few pages. There's so much inspiring stuff here!

I'm wondering where these free days come in! I'm assuming that's not until after the first couple of weeks... or even after goal? So curious! lol Also, do you all really go hog wild on your free days?

Hi, hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas foods without guilt!

I was surprised to weigh in at 143# earlier today, with clothes on. Thought I'd be up to my upper limit with all the extra sweets.

I have been doing my MUDDD schedule, but what I usually do is fast from the time I go to bed until early to mid afternoon the next day. It works with my natural appetite, and I think this is helping me not gain since I have FDs and only 24 DD hour days (instead of 36 hr. DD for regular JUDDD).

I've already talked with you a bit on other threads but I wanna officially say hi here, too!

Yes, I think most of the people using Free Days are those who are in maintenance or who at least have been doing JUDDD long enough to be able to eyeball/guesstimate how much food they can eat without regaining too much, as well as how much food they need to hit their UD ceilings! Not eating enough can be a problem, believe it or not!

Also, some who have EDs or feel they get too obsessed when counting calories find FDs less stressful.

In other words, FDs can be a matter of not counting calories rather than "going hog wild".

popping in to say hi, been so busy with the holidays etc. i am up a couple pounds because i pretty much just ate without abandon the last few days.

this morning had to work at 6am and my stomach was doing flip flops, just figured it was due to my overindulgence, but by the way i am feeling tonight i think i am getting the yucky flu the kids have had. ugh.

DD today and not feeling good has made it easier.

Glad to see that everyone is still here and I think it is awesome that we can have the goodies and not fall off the wagon. the fact that everyone is here is a great sign.

Still up from Christmas day. I'm thinking the wine I drank. Back on track now and hoping for good results again in a day or so. The wine was totally not worth it.

Too many Up Up and Away days since Christmas eve! MD yesterday turned into MD so today is going to be a GOOD DD and keeping it to 600 cals or less. I am 1.8 pounds over my goal weight right now and 3 pounds up since after my last DD morning weigh-in on Friday.

NOT good and but NOT stressed . Getting back to a few DDs will take this weight right off. I have eaten EVERYTHING I have wanted for the last 3 days and have NO regrets at all! This has been the BEST Holiday season since Thanksgiving that I have had in quite a few years!

GOTTA LOVE JUDDD!!

Isn't it awesome though that really only have 1.5 lbs to lose and not the 15 or so in January that many of us used to face when we ate without abandonment for the whole month of December.

Thanks guys. Feeling better today although now i just feel like I am fighting a cold. Hubby just got hit this morning, my daughter last night. Still two kids who haven't been affected. I am not sure if I had what they have or if it will hit me later. If I don't get it the same as them part of me wonders if my restricted eating and fasting has impacted that? Last night when I wasn't feeling to hot I just had broth because if I was gonna get sick really want to deal with solid food.

My morning weigh in was 115.4. I had an excellent DD yesterday but I'm still 3 pounds up from Saturday morning. I think that my DD tomorrow will do the trick

I'm not worried at all because JUDDD works! After Thanksgiving I weighed 116. In the 5 days after, I dropped to my lowest ever, 111.8. I ate well but made sure I minded my UD/DD calorie limits. Now that Christmas is over, I am confident I will make better food choices and won't have as many all out food frenzies!

Today I am 141 !! I expected to be at the upper end of my allowed range (up to 146) after Christmas, not at my lowest weight on JUDDD!

Indeed it is!!!

This is why I cringe reading about posters who decide to wait (after the holidays, special occasion, trip, visit of family, etc... name the reason) to start getting their weight under control. Of course it is a personal decision, not to be entered into lightly both in the losing and the maintaining of ones weight. But if these are the desired goals, getting fatter in order to lose at a future date is not a help.

It looks like everyone is doing great! Even those of us who gained a few pounds of water weight know that it's going to come right back off, thanks to those wonderful DDs. I've been going up and down a lot, but it's always coming right back down after the eating occasion.

I am back to a solid DD today.
I only started this WOE 2.5 weeks ago, so I don't have a lot of success to report...except that had I NOT started this WOE 2.5 weeks ago I would be SCARED to death to weigh myself tomorrow morning as the holidays generally do me right in. I am up a few lbs. but I feel pretty confident I can get it back under control.
So glad to have this tool!

I was so thrilled this morning when I got on the scale to see the same weight I had from the 23rd. Actually, I had a difficult time believing it!!!

My plan for JUDDD fell through this past week and I had no DDs.

I had MDs and FDs since the 23rd, and have been eating with reckless abandon and although I was consciously aware of what I was eating I thought 'oh well, I'll get back on track after all the holidays are over'.

I'm just amazed and so relieved that I don't have the usual 7-8 lbs. to get rid of after a holiday when I was eating low carb. JUDDD is truly forgiving, and I'm absolutely in awe of this WOE!!

This is the only woe I've seen where those of us doing it are not panicked or depressed after holiday eating, but taking it all in stride !!

For some, there have been expected natural water gains that will come off, but also many of us have maintained during this time of excess, or even gone down after all the indulgence! Nobody seems mired in guilt, (although some of us may have ended up regretful due to tummy aches, bloating, "blah" feeling etc. from too many carbs or alcohol) but everyone knows this too shall pass and DD magic will eventually wave its wand over all the holiday debauchery.

I'm still up about a pound over my day before Christmas weight. I'm thinking it is water weight and will come off in a day or so. Christmas was UD and today I am doing a MD after a DD yesterday. Back to an UD tomorrow.
