Wonderful, wonderful losses, Jodi, Sophiecat, Jo, and me too, lol.

Yam-Yam, you will find JUDDD such a joy and the scales jumping will probably settle after a while.

A Pantomime is a wonderful English traditional Christmas family show. Stories, such as Aladdin, Cinderella, Puss in Boots, Dick Whittington, Mother Goose or Jack and the Beanstalk are performed with the young male lead always played by a young woman in tights, and the funny older female role, (called a Dame) played by a man dressed up like a woman. They are very corny and silly, with lots of popular songs and audience participation. I used to do a lot of amature theatre when I was younger and have played the role of Aladdin and various 'princesses'. Great fun, but an acquired taste.

Today is another DD and I'm having an easy time of it. This is my third day doing JUDD. Keeping the calories to 500 or under. Hoping the scale will be nice to me tomorrow.

As I shared earlier I got a little off plan with a few to many UD days, some DD days that were to high in calories and a change in a diabetic medication that caused me to gain back about 8lbs. Most of that may just be mostly water weight. Well I went back to my old diabetic med. wensday and let wensday be a real DD with a whopping 20 calories shoud I just call wensday a total fast or a DD ? It's funny I didn't seem much harder
just to fast wensday than to do a 500 calorie DD and as the good Dr. pointed out a total
fast is even better than a DD if you can do it. Well 2 days off that medication and a good UD and DD behind me the scales are starting to go back down again.

By the way if you do a google using the term Modified Alternet Day Fasting ( same thing
as JUDDD ) you will find some scientific articles on it. Some of these studies list an added
benefit I haven't seen talked about here. Whenever you go on a diet you almost always
lose some muscle mass unless you go on an exercise prograam. But it looks like as a side
effect this does not hapen on JUDDD. One study showed people not only lost weight on
this WOE but they gained a SMALL amount of muscle mass I believe the figure was around 2 lbs. True this isn't a lot but it was done without exerciseing.

E.W.: That's great news about muscle mass and JUDD. i do worry about losing muscle mass. I know how important it is.

yesterday was DD # 2 for me and it was no problem. Easily stayed under 500.

Today is day 4 on JUDD and will be UD but I have not eaten anything yet.

Scale is looking good...and interesting! I'll have to get used to the bouncing ball effect I think. Either that or just weigh after a DD or once a week.

After day 1 (DD) -1; After day 2 (UD) +2.8; After day 3 (DD) -3.4

Yam Yam I too see alot of bouncing around. I will see a new low then go back up but find that my weight does settle back down to that low at some point. Does that make sense??

For me, I picked an official weigh in day. Its either thursday or friday (whichever is after my DD) I have weighed everyday and put it into ****** to watch trends. This has worked for me.

Yuck not feeling so good. My whole family had the stomach bug. I am hoping this just passes for me quickly. I hope it does not get worse. Its okay today because its a DD. Last week I had a day also that I did not feel so good. It was after my Little one had it. I am hoping it just passes like that did.

Maintaining good at 113.8 after an UD. Today's a DD. About the not losing muscle thing . . . I've been on JUDDD since October and I noticed my arms are more defined and I'm not even exercising. My pants are falling off, too, even though I've been maintaining around the same weight since the beginning of November

My mind is boggled by all of the positive effects JUDDD is having for everyone. I want to congratulate each of you who have seen losses or any other positive change. Even when the scales bounce around, they end up going in the right direction.

This is only my second DD (yesterday) and I gotta say....I have had results already! It's really amazing, how I can feel it in my clothes (I don't weigh). Good feedback to help me not stray too far while I'm on my cruise!

I look forward to checking in when I get back.

A new low after yesterday's DD. 122.4 How can this be?

Wonderful UD today. Scrambled eggs, toast and a tiny bit of bacon, (leftovers).

Mushroom pizza and salad for lunch and supper. Rather a lot of lovely wine and one mince pie.

Down today which is a surprise since yesterday was a UD but TOM started so maybe that is why. I have not been this low since coming off hcg, so lets see if it sticks. Also I have really not be counting my UD calories and trying to instead just stay at 500-600 on DD's.

I would be happy staying right here at 118 because it seems at this point the only area I lose from is my boobs, and I do not need anymore taken from that area !!

Sherry: Wish I could give you some of mine! lol. I've lost everywhere but there.

Everyone: Advice please? Yesterday was a UD for me and yowzers! Today I'm not happy like I was yesterday morning when I weighed after my second DD.

Here's how it looks:

After day 1 (DD) -1; After day 2 (UD) +2.8; After day 3 (DD) -3.4; After day 4 (UP) +3.2

Is this normal???

I went over to the daily weigh in thread to see if anyone else went down and up so much over several days and there were a few but not a lot. Looks to me like it might be normal right in the beginning. This is my first week. Maybe I have to be more careful with sodium and other things.

We had a veggie delite pizza from Pappa Murphy's mid day. It tasted really salty and maybe there was just too much cheese. I'm so ready for my DD today.

Interesting that after UDs I feel really happy and energetic. Tomorrow is Christmas and it's going to be an UD but I'm wondering if I should totally stay away from carbs or maybe only have non-starchy green veggies and protein. I probably should stick to LC even on UDs. I guess at the beginning there is a learning curve and maybe we have to tweak to make it work.

That said, yesterday morning I saw the lowest number on the scale that I have seen in several years! It was my "new low". And that was on my official once per week weigh in day! So, that part is good. Just worried that it zoomed right back up. Can't wait to see my numbers tomorrow morning!

You all are doing so great. Merry Christmas to all! Thank you so much for all your helpful advice. I'm reading and soaking up every word.

Don't worry Yam-Yam. It's normal. I had three "crazy days" in a row last weekend due to holiday eating occasions and packed on 6.6 pounds of water weight! All but one pound came right back off after two DDs. Just hang on.

I had our huge family get together last night. Yes I went way over my calories! I enjoyed it and looking forward to my DD today!

So many of u r seeing new lows!! I am hoping for that by new years!! I feel really encouraged that this does work. I Need to start focusing on my up day calories.

I've been bouncing around so much it made me feel quite low (I should stick to weekly weigh-ins). However, unhelpfully, the scales have gone slightly loopy today so I'm somewhere between 0.6-0.2kg down on my last official weigh-in 8 days ago.

So, I'm either just over a pound down or less than 8 ounces (so, I won't update my profile until this is clearer). However, as my weight had been bouncing up by a kg or more (more than 2lbs) on the days that I peeked then this result isn't as disappointing as it would have been after last week's useful loss of approx. 3lbs.

I've never measured inches but wish I did because although this weight loss is negligible this week it is noticeable that some of my clothing is substantially looser than previous.

Best Wishes to everyone and may your day go according to plan.

Merry Christmas to me from Dr. Johnson!

I was wavering between weighing today or Tuesday (after DD's--week 2). Well I jumped on the scale this morning hoping for a Christmas present from the good doctor and he came through. Last week after 7 days, I lost 5 lbs. This week, after 6 days, I lost 2.6 lbs. That's over 7 1/2 lbs with only 7 real diet days! What a great plan!
