Jo: I always bloated for the first few days of tom....I don't think you should count this at all. Check again in a day or two.

I had a really good MD yesterday. Still stuck at present weight but after that wedding last week followed by dinner out with friends - I was so afraid to get on the scale. At least I'm not up anymore (as I'm sure I was!)

Today was an UD. Doing great - may have some rum (150 cal for 1.5oz). Tomorrow will be a DD (veggies....oh yeah..)

My appetite is stuck on daylight savings!!! Dinner is still an hour away....or longer if I don't start it soon.

I have a maintenance question. This is from the JUDD website:

Quote:
When you have lost the amount of weight that you desire, you can maintain your weight by eating up to 50 to 60 percent of your normal calorie allowance on Down Days.
If I put in a goal weight of 112 at 60%, I get this - 1484 and 890. If a person eats 60% of their "normal calorie allowance", wouldn't they continue to lose weight?

Maybe at a weight of 112 pounds, the real "normal caloric allowance" is actually the average of the 2 numbers which would be around 1187.

I'm so confused about his little chart and the percentages

How wonderful!

Andrea "179.8. Nice to meet you."

Love it when a new low appears, even if, as in my case it is just .2 of a pound

127.4 this morning after yesterday MD. DD today.

Just so you know, it doesn't make sense to me. With that nursing home population where they didn't want them to lose weight, they raised their up day calories to 50% over maintenance calories. So it was like 1000 calories one day, 3000 the next. The average of two days was their normal caloric allowance so they didn't lose weight but benefitted from JUDDD.

I certainly don't want my maintenance average to be lower than it should be.

All right down 1.4 of my overnight 2.6. At least I am confident by now that I don't gain any inches with these bounce ups.

Really amazing.

ANd it's interesting to me how we are so individual, body comp wise.
I squeeeezed into my size 8s this time last year and I was about the same weight I am now..a few lbs less, more muscle probably. Could I get those suckers even close to getting on now? NO WAY!!!

That's what I'm thinking. When it's time to maintain, the two numbers should average out to be your maintenance calories if you had eaten the same everyday. So if mine are 1500, I could do 2200 and 800.

The scale is down 1.4 pounds to 115! I'm not yet down to my lowest from Saturday (113.4). Down Day today

I'm not minding these fluctuations too much because I've been able to eat some yummy things and still lose weight! I started at 118.6 on October 26.

I bought the size 8s a few diets ago in hopes and as incentive. There's one pair I fit into but most....I do the cupcake thing!!! So, thinking that 1 pair is probably not sized right, either on purpose or accident. Not accusing the company but it's curious, huh? But those other 8s? I dream.....

Down another 1/2lb this morning

Maybe I won't go back up outta the 163s??? who knows. Just enjoying the lows right now and knowing that the bounces won't count in the end if I stick to JUDD.

Oh! And I actually stuck my jeans in the dryer this time and when I put them on this morning I didn't even have to lay on the bed to zip them up. They just slid right on with even a little room to spare in the waist, butt and hips! woo hoo

WOE: Low/Mod Carb, JUDDD (JUDDD, 10/25/11 at 141.5)
Start Date: March, 2006
As of today, I've been on JUDDD for two weeks. This has been my weight loss pattern:

10/25 - 141.5
10/26-28 - 140.5
10/29-30 - 138.5
10/31 - 140 - over-ate
11/1 - 140.5 - over-ate at Red Lobster last night...no biscuits, though! Starting on this day, kept a food diary every day!
11/2 - 139.5
11/3 - 138
11/4-7 - 137.5
11/8 - 136.5

I'm pretty happy with my loss because my weight has been gradually creeping up since June on low carb...and at that, I was losing and gaining the same lbs...ranging from 132.5 to 140.

I'm up a pound - and it makes sense because my most recent UD and DD average too high. So I'm going to make this a better UD at around 1,700 calories. I need to do this anyway if I'm going to drop a little more before the holidays.

Shari: I went to look back at my numbers. My typical DD carbs fall in the 40's or 50's. Typical UD carbs fall in the 140's to 150's. I have had both lower and higher #'s for both. My latest MD carbs were 109. I have been eating naughty carbs in those numbers sometimes (candy, cookies, I had a danish one day...), though. I'm ok with that to some extent.

Shari

This reminded me that somewhere on the forum you asked me about my carb intake, and I'm sorry, I intended to look it up and get back to you, and then I forgot and then couldn't remember where that post was. But Andrea's post reminded me about this...

I have been on JUDDD 4 weeks now, and I looked over ****** and my average daily carb intake for the last month is 95 grams (that's not taking into account any fiber or anything).

I haven't monitored carb intake in weeks, but I see my highest daily amounts in the last 4 weeks on JUDDD have been: 237, 207, 191, 169 grams.

The only time I've felt and seen a problem is with the consumption of too much SUGAR/REFINED CARBS - candy, milk chocolate, candy bars, fruit juice, etc. I seem to do great with pasta, bread, grains, etc.
