Well down .5 after my down day which brings my 11 days on juddd loss to: 3lbs. I'm still up .5 from last weekends carb-fat-eat-it-all-now fest lol. But it's slowly coming back off and my set point hasn't jumped back up

2much I understand the hesitation about up day calories. It's scary! But really, give it a try, at least aim to get within 200-300 calories of your up day ceiling and see how it goes
I'm shocked as well. It really does seem to work |

i too, have decided to only weigh after DD's.
i was looking at my weights since starting JUDDD on 9/19. as of yesterday morning's weight, i am 1.2 lbs HIGHER than my JUDDD start weight. prior to my dd's birthday party weekend (10/22), i was maintaing/slowly losing. since that weekend, i have been higher than ever (weights have been as high as 136.8 and only as low as 134.4....starting weight on JUDDD was 133.6, all time low of 131.8 on 10/22) and i'm not liking it...i am just so gobsmacked at how the birthday treats set me back. i thought i would come down quicker from them. i do love the principles of JUDDD, i just wish my body would co-operate and get back down. i wish my body wasn't so sensitive to carbs and hope that with time, that sensitivity decreases. i don't ever see myself going back to eating full on carbs like i did prior to starting strict LC in may of '08, but i would like to decrease my sensitivity to them. i totally DO NOT mind the ups and downs and fully expect them...FOR MAINTENANCE!! i want to get down to my goal range. i have even been contemplating a short round of hHCG to get me to my goal and then returning to JUDDD to maintain. not sure what i'll do exactly yet. Julie!! Hardly even looks like you. It's amazing how even faces change with weight loss. Also amazes me how much younger people look when they're thin. (Even more motivation for me)
Betty: Yeah, maybe you're right. I'll try maybe 1700. I tend to do that....I screwed up by eating probably 3000 calories so instead of just doing this the way it's suppose to be done I try to make up for it and wind up overcompensating. Usually this only serves to make my situation even worse. I'll try 1700....but ONLY 1700, not a free for all!!! (that's been my way) ![]()

![]() That's good. Just like you hear about people doing hours of cardio right off the bat. Well what happens when they stall? How much MORE cardio can a person really do? lol Just like if you took your cals straight to 1500..what happens when you stall there? |

I was up to 128.8 today but I am not troubled. I ate carbs and carbs hold water. Also I had the UP followed by an MD.
Good DD, 2 Soya coffees, some corned beef and this evening veggie soup. |

Great numbers. I am doing HCG now but coming to the end of my round, and hopefully at goal. I am planning to move to JUDDD soon. What are your UD/DD limits and what is your usual menu? Just asking because your height and weight is similar to mine. Thanks

Hi --
Well, I'm on Day 2, my first UD. I've been tracking my calories closely for years now (ever since overcoming a weight problem in high school) and, since having my baby seven weeks ago, had been pretty much maintaining at 129/130 with about 2800 calories a day. (I'm feeding not one but two nurslings, one of whom is a very greedy toddler!) ![]() So, based on that data, I set my UD cals at 2500 and my DD cals at 1000. Yesterday, I ended up eating 1300 cals -- not horrible, I thought, given that it was my first DD. I was surprised at how doable it was. I was expecting gnawing agony and low blood sugar, given how much I'd been eating. But I felt really good and very accomplished at the end of the day! This a.m. I was down to a new low of 128.4. (Daily weigher here... I have no idea how this will all go -- I do have a wine tasting to go to tomorrow evening and will therefore plan a MD for tomorrow. Question: Should I then do a DD afterward, or an UD?Overall, I'm liking this so far! You guys are an awesome group. Thanks for letting me join the party!

Kelly, I was thinking I would simply alternate UDs and DDs unless a weird event occurred (like tomorrow's...). I think you're right -- I'll be happier with myself if I do a DD on Sunday, and the scale will probably thank me, too!

Just wanted to chime in... this is my ninth week on JUDDD, and I've lost very little. But I've made some mistakes along the way, and come to the realization that I have to be completely as strict on my Up Days as well as my down. I'm confident I'm going to start getting some losses. 3 or 4 pounds a month would make me very happy.
But it's taken me awhile for things to click. Total calories over the week really, really count, and I can't let *any* Up day get away from me. And despite the slow progress...my clothes ARE fitting better. I had to pin up my work pants today. THRILLED with that! I bought them tight this past March about 15 pounds ago.
