I am down to 212.4 this morning after a DD yesterday at 530 calories. Was a little bit more hungry then usual but made it through.

So makes a total loss of 17 pounds from when i restarted my weight loss journey on sept 20th and a total of 7 pounds lost of JUDDD since 10/17 (18 days)

ONEderland is getting closer and closer.

I also did measurements and my hip measurement is down .6 of an inch and my waist 1.5 inches in 13 days. So seems the inches are really coming off. It really explains people saying they are seeing the weight come off the top (although it is the bottom I really need it off from )
CONGRATS on your loss, Kris4Chloe!! Onederland is around the corner!

LOL That's only how I would do it. But I do really buy into the JUDDD cycle, and the value of the Up Days and the extended fast of Down Days.

And if this will work for you... it sure won't interfere at all. The only thing that might *interfere* will be if you eat higher carbs than is usual at these get-togethers, but you know what? If that happens, so be it. If you experience any water weight gain from carbs, it comes back off. And if you don't go too over-the-top with carbs at these two lovely occasions, you may not even experience any water weight gain at all.

And have fun! Yay JUDDD!

I only ate one of the eggs I counted so it was only 865 cals in the end, and 40 carbs. You will never believe what I had.

An egg and bacon sandwich.

I was down 1.2 to 182.6 this morning after yesterday's 500cal DD. I'm still not yet back down to last week's low of 181.6. However, considering I did 4 UDs in a row last weekend, to be only a pound over last week (week of TOM), I'll take it!

I KWYM about not being able to figure out a pattern to our losses. Sometimes I'm up after a DD, sometimes I'm down after an UD...totally goes against what my brain thinks should happen. Maybe that's one reason a keep getting on the scale every morning (and most nights before I go to bed)...I never know if I'm gonna be up or down, so I've got to step on that scale and see. It still makes me a little though.

UP day for me. Last night, I was so looking forward to this UD that I packed a huge lunch for myself to eat today: An overstuffed tuna sandwich (on low carb bread), cottage cheese, strawberries in cream and marinated asparagus. After a breakfast of two scrambled eggs and an almond milk and peanut butter shake, I was still not very hungry 4 hours later and only at the sandwich and asparagus and half the cottage cheese. Here it is and I'm getting ready to start dinner and I'm not even hungry really. London broil and zucchini-cheese casserole is on the menu for dinner.
I didn't tally my calories today, but I know it's not over my ceiling. Tomorrow is a down day. Looking forward to another loss come Saturday morning!

Hello everyone! I've missed so much and don't have ANY idea how to even catch up with everyone but just want to say to the newbies, Congrats to all the losers, maintainers, those figuring out what will and will not work, and anyone who is just giving JUDDD a try to see how it will work for them!

All is well here, have lost a bit more weight these last few weeks but I'm hanging in there, eating right and just JUDDD maintaining along! I have changed my goal weight to 135 since I'm almost there anyway and will try to maintain between 135 and 140 which gives me room for a few good UDs for the holiday season.

I also want to thank EVERYONE for all you have done to make me feel loved and cared for! A better group of people can not be found!

Oh, how soon they become spoiled. Just joking. The way you are going, I won't be surprised at you having more loss come Saturday! You are really making this work! And I'm so happy for you. I think you were stuck there for a little while before JUDDD, and now you're going so very well! Good for you.

Even closer now! Weighed in at 210.6 this morning, down from 212 two days ago. Must have been that hour of sweeping leaves yesterday... SO close to 30 pounds lost! I think I'll make it after another 2 days this week!

And a current BMI of 30.21!

I am up almost 2 pounds after my up day which is typical for me. Stats to the left. This is a decent number for me, so I am okay with it.

Betty, I understand your frustration. My hypothyroid body seems to respond well to maintenance on this plan, but, I am not sure how well I would be able to lose.

which is why I was considering saving juddd or trying to lose weight at all until I get all sorted out.
Trying to lose weight in a less than optimal state might be more stressful??

I'm not sure.
I'll give it two more weeks I think.

Ok, another day....I promise everyone who's reading, I will NOT overeat today on my UD. I will be in control!!

Also, thinking I'm going to keep it at 1500 and not 1800. I think that is too much for me. My metabolism is horrible! And I don't even have a thyroid problem! Every year, it's worse and worse. Can't stand it

Also, decided that I'm going to weigh once a week like everyone says. I have to get past the 140s. And for some reason I think I'm not letting myself do it. I think on some level I'm afraid of it Can't even remember the last time I was in the 130s.

yep, I'm going to stick with JUDDD for two more weeks..12 more days to be exact. That will be one month that I've found and been on JUDDD.
Nov 16th is also my appt. with a new endocrinologist for a second opinion.

I can show him what I've been doing as more proof for my 'case,' that I feel I am being under treated.

I'm hoping beyond all hope this guy 'gets it.'

Betty,

I am glad you are sticking with it a month. I think anyone that tries JUDDD really needs to give it at least 30 days. I think it is better to be trying to do something, rather than nothing and gaining weight. I am excited about your appointment. I am hopeful for you.

Every diet I have ever been on (and I mean over the decades) I have only lost to this point and then slowly gained it all back again (and then some). This is why I think I have a block here - either mentally or physically, I don't know or care right now. I'm mad at this situation and I want to shake it up! The reason I'm frustrated with 140s is because I have been here for months! Many of them, not only a couple months. Several...maybe a year....plateau...stall....and my fear (well ingrained now with decades to back up this fear) is that I will slowly start gaining again right back to where I was. I'm sorry if this is not speaking to your personal weight problems - I'm only trying to be honest about my inability to move past this stalling point. And like I said, I don't know if its mental/emotional or physical.

Really, just thinking outloud (or rather online).

I don't think I've ever eaten 1800 calories in my life in one day without gaining considerable weight as a payback! It's scary.

I've been at this for 2 years now.

I got down into the 180s from being over 215 by doing rounds of restrictive dieting. And now I'm just stuck. I haven't really tried to lose more until now because I didn't want to put more stress on the ole hormones. And I've been battling Dr's this whole time

I'm glad that I've been able to at least maintain my weight, because I know a lot of thyroid people GAIN. BUt I think a lot of that has to do with not having the energy to exercise and over eating because they are depressed, etc.

I can take my month long 'experiment,' to this new Dr and say 'SEE. even on a CR diet, I can't get the pounds to budge.' HELP ME!!!! lol
