After 4 days on JUDD I'm down 3.2 pounds! And that's after messing up my second down day. So I ended up doing a down, up, up, down and I'm now down to 115.6.

I think I underestimated my up day calories AND I was also undereating on them so I'll try to indulge more! My average for the 4 days was only about 900/day.

Today is a mid day so I can enjoy a birthday lunch tomorrow.

I'm also changing my goal range to 112-115.

good morning. still in the hospital with ds. going home whenever dad gets here after he's done with church. much better night last night after nonstop vomiting from 11pm-5am friday night. he was zonked all day yesterday with some ativan....he slept from 5:00-5:30 am till 5:30 pm getting up only to pee. nurses gave him some more ativan at bedtime just to make sure he slept well and that he did!

my sister hung out with me all day which was nice, we haven't just sat and chatted like that for a long time. then 4 girlfriends showed up to take me to supper while dh stayed with noah. my sister came along with, which i was glad of. i was *EXHAUSTED* b/c they didn't get here till almost 8pm...but i picked a restaurant just down the street from the hospital. it was fun, glad i went in spite of being so tired. ate at applebee's. ate plenty of carbs, including dessert.

today is a conservative UD meaning i'm not restricting, but i'm not going hog wild either.

Morning all! I got on the scale this morning and was actually down 2lbs! I carefully watched my food intake all week and was nicely rewarded this morning.

I believe the WOE I will try will be piratejenny's MUDDD as it gives me more flexibility. I can manage really well on 1 main meal a day (lunch or dinner) depending.

I CAN DO THIS!

Carrie, wow, you are truly an inspirational mother! You are so strong!! So this new "cocktail" was not any better?? poor guy being sick for so long. UGH!! (I was always the mom who was ready to throw up with the kids when they got sick, as my gag reflex was so bad and had a heck of a time wiping their face and comforting when they were getting sick)... not sure how I would hold up with that! My prayers are still with you both and glad you get to go home today!!! Sounds like a nice dinner and nice chats with your sister.. nice!!

i was so hopeful the new drug cocktail would be the ticket, but no...it didn't seem to do a THING!! he got the new drugs prior to getting chemo. so when the vomiting started i first asked for him to have benadryl to help him go to sleep. didn't do a thing...about 2 am i asked for him to have ativan...the BIG dose he got last round that knocked him out. get this....THAT didn't even phase him!! i just couldn't believe it. then sometime between 5 and 5:30 am it just come to a HALT and he passes out and sleeps soooo hard getting up only to pee! they still gave him the big dose of ativan at 8am event hough he was already dead asleep just to KEEP him asleep to recover from the night.

needless to say, chemo is powerful stuff!

I was hoping that it would be the ticket too, sorry that it wasn't! This was the "bad chemo session" right? He is done with that for a few more weeks right? Will they try another one (different) next time since this one had such awful vomiting?

correct, cathy. the next 2 weeks he gets his easy treatment on fridays, then back to the big one...so every three weeks he get his big one. as far as trying anything new...dr has pretty much tried everything that use. he called me this morning and we have just come to the conclusion that this is just the way it is. they'll still give him the anti-nausea meds, b/c who knows, maybe what he goes thru is much better than it COULD be with no meds, ya know? meaning it may seem like they aren't helping, but maybe they are helping it from being even worse.

Well poo that they could not find a better "cocktail" but hopefully its all worth it in the end. Glad you got a better night's sleep!!

just a little interruption in this thing called life that we need to go thru for whatever reason. i'm confident that reason is for good. we may not ever truly know the reason, but i know that all things *do* happen for a reason.

ah poor guy. i am sorry it was such a rough day and night. i love your attitude about all of this. i will be praying for you both.

i am happy you were able to get out for a little bit to refresh yourself so you can be there for your son.

Yesterday was a MD and I did alot better then my attempt at a MD last week. I stayed at 1155 calories, i was shooting for 1100 but I had to work until 9pm and when i got home I was feeling a bit hungry so I had some swiss miss.

Down another .4 for a total of 5.2 lbs since the 17th. todays an ud so i am sure some of that will come back up but it will be followed by another DD so it is all good.

oh and last night at work a few people noticed the weight loss as I was able to fit into a smaller pair of jeans that I had. Not only did they fit, but they were very comfortable, not tight at all. When I bought them, I fit them, but they were very, very, very tight and not pretty at all.

Congrats on fitting into smaller jeans!

I need to try on that pair of brown dress pants (my "goal pants") again in the next week. Last year in early Nov. I was able to wear them comfortably, and then I started gaining weight right after that.....

So I try them on now and then and recently was able to get them all the way up, zipped and buttoned, but would like them to feel a little less tight when I sit. When that happens - goal reached!

Today is Day 4 of Juddd. Scale has been the same even with adding the carbs. I am guessing is a good sign for now.

We're having a snow storm here in PA so it's nice to be cooking all day and having hot homemade soup to eat.

First off

to JUDDD! I don't think I saw you come in and just wanted to say

and glad to have you on board with us.

Now I have a ? for you. Have you done JUDDD before and that is why you are putting MDs in there right in the beginning? If you haven't done JUDDD then I am going to suggest you do at least 1 week if not the 2 weeks suggested by Dr. Johnson with just UDs and DDs to get your body and hunger adjusted to the JUDDD WOE. Throwing a couple of MDs in there already maybe the reason you are just maintaining your weight and not losing.

If you are a JUDDDer from before, please disregard the above.
