I'm having some problems eating all the food lol. I've had 1548 cals. I can add some coconut milk to another cup of coffee and get another 50 or so in, but honestly, I'm stuffed!

Joedi- I've told him in not so many words
He's so whatever about it as long as I'm not making him eat my 'Betty Food,' he calls it, he doesn't care!

I skated out of having to make a big dinner tonight. Kids had leftovers from last night. Hubby is out hunting..

I have to agree, that's why I do my weekend as two Up days. I do think it makes things a bit slower, but I'm okay with that. I thought MDs were hungrier and harder for me to do than either Up or Down days.

Holy cow!! This thread is on fire today! I was busy all day and I come back to find I have three pages to catch up on. Oh my.

Love all the new JUDDD BUDDDs that have joined! It's so great to have more people who bring their own excitement to the board!

I had a good DD yesterday...landed at 465. I was down .2 this morning, so that's a new low. Today is an UD, and I'll have another yummy cuppa joe shortly to round out my calories just under my goal of 1800. Feeling good about it.

About doing MDs...I usually do one every weekend to get my rotation back to where I like it for work. I haven't found them to be overly troubling. I approach them with the mindset that I will mostly eat like it's a DD - using DD foods - but that I can be more generous with them. I set my MD calories as my UD/DD average, which I have recently increased to 1150.

Can't wait for my Tuesday morning weigh-in...that will be four weeks exactly since starting JUDDD and I will be interested to see how much weight I will be able to report that I've lost. Yay!!

Night all!

I was always interested in how I could possibly have lost any weight at all considering I had such great UDs all the time!

Congrats on being down another .2..... every little bit helps. Sounds like your day went well.

I have a question. If your calorie limit on a UD is 2000 and you eat 1900 is that bad to do? I know its ok to go low on my DD but not sure on the UD.

Nah... not so much. If your maintenance calorie level is given as 2000 calories when you check the calorie calculators at several sites (like you take the average) then that is probably pretty close to accurate.

You probably wouldn't want to go too far below that and hold it down for a real long time. I mean, this isn't supposed to be the type of diet where you hold calories down to try and force weight loss that way, and that almost always eventually leads to metabolic slow down, which we hope goes back up, but a lot of us are kind of *broken* so I don't think we should count on our metabolism popping back up if we make it slow down. LOL Did that long sentence explain anything?

But I also don't think we have to eat up to our full calorie ceiling every single day, and I think most often what happens is.. we are pretty close most of the time. So today you're at 1900 and tomorrow at 1950 and then the day after at 2100 and then 1975 and then 2000... see, always about at your ceiling, but maybe off a bit one way or the other.

Ok thanks Pat. I was mainly asking because I dont want metabolic slow down because I know mine is broken.... but not for long. I just have this sense of well being on JUDD its awesome!

We are losing body fat from the diet, but we are regaining some water weight at the same time because of eating more carbohydrate, and the two are canceling each other out, and the scale just shows us that we weigh still about the same.

I do expect you have truly lost some weight that isn't showing up on the scale because of monthly fluid gain, and that will show itself as TOM resolves for another month.

I will be watching how this all works out for you, and cheering you on! I know you are determined, and I'm sure your resolve will result in weight loss and improved health!
Gee, twist my arm to stop me from lowering my calories too much!

Okay, given your advice I will keep my UD's within the 1800-2000 range for a while, then reevaluate after a month if I haven't lost anything. I mean, it's not like I'm in a huge hurry; my current weight, 130, has been my body's set-point ever since high school. I'm not technically overweight, but I do have a small frame and I am VAIN. I want the extra fat off dammit!

Morning!

I managed to knock off a lb on the scale.

Today is supposed to be an UD. I normally go to the gym in the morning but I have an ortho appt for my knees, blah.
Maybe I'll hit the gym later, but who am I kidding? I don't like going in the evenings *pouts*
I'll probably just go on a bike ride/walk..so some glute work here at home.

UD it is!! I couldn't even go in the kitchen last night because I was so hungry and thats where the....cheesecake is lurking!!!

Sigh, it was one of those weekends for a lot of us!

Up 3.6 pounds. Have to make a new plan for the weekends... Should probably cut back on the wine, think that's behind the hunger.

Morning ladies. Had a successful JUDDD weekend. Sorry so many struggled!

Today is an UD, but I also have to take nekkid piccys at the PS this morning so no food for me. The scale was not kind! I'm down but only minimally to 253lbs. After 2 cycles with DDs. I know we aren't supposed to weigh for 2 weeks but I'm a habitual weigher so that won't happen. I still feel so much fluid in my ankles and see it in my hands. So know it's the chemo whacking with my body still. *sigh*

Ok, well hope everyone has an amazing day. Pray that I get through this morning without dieing of embarrassment! I Just might. They give you this tiny paper thongue to put on over your DT and make you smill for the camera. Oh MY GAWD! I could live without this!

DD for me, ate up to my calories yesterday but was to much sugar. Have a serious sugar hangover headache today. This week I am going to try to watch my sugar/carb count cuz it went really up. I am sitting exactly where I was when I started last week, but this morning I started TOM so that is probably why. Hoping to see a drop at the end of this week. I should of realized, was so freaking crabby last night and was getting frustrated over food. Was having one of my why bother moments. Sometimes I wish I didn't have to think about food at all.

Hi, I had a very bad case of PF last year (worked in a store with concrete floors and stone tiles). I got rid of it with "rocker sole" shoes. I almost couldn't walk at all, but in these shoes you never "strike" your heel on the floor. So I was in much less pain immediately, and the PF was gone entirely within two weeks. Have you tried them?
I have worked 14 years retail on concrete and have developed pretty bad PF, but about two months ago I invested in some New Balance tennis shoes (the rocker shoes, hurt my PF more as well as my knees) and although my pain is not completely gone, it is 98 percent better. You need to go to the New Balance site and find the shoes that are medically graded that have the stabilization technology for PF. They cost around $100 but are worth every penny. I actually had no problems walking around the Zoo yesterday in them.

I wrote before I read posts. Sounds like many of us enjoyed our weekends. I tried to be careful after lunch Sunday but didn't succeed and don't care. This is a diet I can live with. It's helpful to see many people dealing and succeeding with similiar stuff.

My goodness, I guess I was holding onto water while losing fat for the past two weeks. Here are some weigh-ins.

10/12 -- 220.4
10/13 -- 221.6
10/14 -- 220
10/17 -- 219.4
10/18 -- 219
10/19 -- 219
10/21 -- 220

AND NOW!

10/22 -- 217.8
10/23 -- 217
10/24 -- 215 !!!!!

Down 2 lbs after a down day, down 5 lbs from 3 days ago. A little scary to see, but I know I have been cutting calories from my BMR + exercise that could equal out to 3 lb/week weight loss, so maybe the scale is just catching up to my fat loss. Or maybe it's a fluke and I'm still 217...

I'm doing a DD today too.

Woo Hoo! Any morning the scale shows another pound gone is a celebration! Yay!

And you are getting an UD today. And cheesecake! I haven't made a cheesecake in ages. I don't know why I don't more often, as DH doesn't like it, so it's the one sweet that can last for awhile.. long enough that I can actually enjoy more than one piece. Usually I'll make something on an UD, enjoy a piece or two that day, skip it entirely the next day, being a DD, and then... find nothing but crumbs left when it's time to enjoy a piece on my next UD.

I didn't know you had trouble with knees. Hope everything goes well at your appt. and that you can at least go for a nice walk later.

Another JUDDD BUDDD reporting more weight loss! This is always exciting! .2 pounds in the right direction is always good. And doing a DD today with so many of us. We're going to have a crowd today.

Paula, I think you must have one of the most delightful lives of any of us! Well, other than the *up 3.6 pounds* part of it.. but oh, well... that's the price, and it comes back off. But when you sigh and declare it was One of Those Weekends, and make mention of the wine... it sounds like it was fun.

OK, the weekend is over, and it's time to do some good JUDDDing again.

Glad your down a bit on the scale, Pooti. I weigh every morning too, so the wild fluctuations are old hat to me too. I usually know the truth of any upticks.

And, hey! If you have to have nekked pictures taken today, I say Go With It! Add some levity to the situation. Pretend you're doing a calendar photo shoot and give them some pouty lips, some come hither eyes, some coy posturing...

Hoping to see a drop at the end of this week. I should of realized, was so freaking crabby last night and was getting frustrated over food. Was having one of my why bother moments. Sometimes I wish I didn't have to think about food at all.
Yeah, zoo food and treats are tasty evils. Sorry you're having a headache though. I'll bet you've actually lost some body fat if you're even on the scale though, because you will most likely be retaining fluids with both TOM and carbing up more than previously, so more water weight from eating higher carbs.

Glad to have you joining us on what appears to be a mostly Down Day Monday around here.

Anne, with all the fluctuating we experience on JUDDD, and after having two UDs in a row, I think you're doing good! I can be up a pound (and far more) after a single UD.

Welcome to the DD Wagon today. There sure are a lot of doing DDs today.

it's kind of a love/hate thing with the sweets, pat....they TASTE great, but too many gave me a tummy ache (so why did i keep eating them?? b/c they TASTE good, ughh)...so what's the point of THAT?? i just hope this 4.4 goes away QUICKLY so i can keep moving into that new decade i was sooooo close to on sat morning. but TOM is due in a couple days too so i'm *hoping* some of the gain is from that too..."the girls" are sore this morning, so i know TOM is looming....(which is new...they haven't been sore before TOM for a loooooong time).

Betty, congrats on the pound lost!
