Hi everyone!

Long weekend. I had a 22-mile hike / climb (1-3 feet of snow at higher elevations) planned for Sunday, so Sat was an UD to load up for it. Funny I had a hard time getting all the calories in, so for dinner I had pizza and potato wedges with nacho cheese! Sunday we started in the middle of the night, and it got super cold by early morning (and I was at 12900 feet), so i didn't want to eat anything i brought (all ice cold, ambient temperature was like 32F). So i turned around after hiking only 7.5 miles up (and 4500 ft gain). Still had a great time, 15-mile day. I kept eating non-stop last night, though... Like 2800 calories!

So today's DD. I'm being good,

So, after yesterday's DD (my second one) I am down another 1.6 lbs! So, on the morning of JUDDD day 4, I am already 3.2 lbs down from my starting weight. Not too shabby, huh?!

I began this morning's UD by enjoying some Italian pork sausage w/ about a cup and a half of coffee.

I'm back down today(stats to the left) after my DD. I don't always show a loss after my DD, so I am pleased. I mentioned yesterday that I may have two DD's in a row or a MD today, but, I am hungry so I will make it an UD today.

I am down .2 after a DD that ended up being 850 so another MD. My weight is at 154 which makes me do the happy dance. Haven't seen that number since Dec '10 before Christmas and I've lc'ed all year. I think if I'd climbed the carb ladder things would have loosened up. I seemed to gain with every carb all year-maybe just too many calories. IT'S WORKING!!

whew! after my little carb fest sunday and my U-ishD that was supposed to be a MD on sat....i am down 3.4 after my DD yesterday!

so today is an UD and i am going to see what staying strict LC does on an UD. my general pattern has been up on the scale after an UD that includes a few more true carbs and then down again after a DD. and ever so gradually my upticks are getting less than previous ones so that even though i am still going up on my UD, the general trend is slightly down in weight....am i making any sense? lol....

so will see what a LC UD does to the scale today.

Down a pound after yesterday's DD (which is all the weekend gain). 129.2.

So, .8 above last Tuesday's, and .2 less than two weeks ago. I'm impatient to get into fresh numbers, hopefully by Saturday.

I spent the weekend reading over the August & September entries and was very curious to see if this would work for me. After checking in at 232.00 on Saturday I had my first DD yesterday consisting of (1) Slim Fast Bar and (2) Slim Fast shakes (About 480 Calories). It was a little tough but not too bad. I think next DD I will eat at 10:00, 1:00, and 4:00.

Anyway I am down to 230.40 today so the little discomfort was worth it. Today I will stick to LC for my UD.

My plan is to really focus on my Saturday weigh ins as my plans are as follows:

Mon = DD
Tue = UD
Wed = DD
Thu = UP
Fri = DD
Sat = UP
Sun = MD (LC to No Carb Day)

All of your entries have really helped in making the decision to try JUDDD. I am so thankful I came across this web site.

not weighing .....

UD are so much harder for me!! I tend to over do it ..... yes, I have a plan. I even write it down, then I eat too much and too many things I know I shouldn't (sugar).

Someone send me the willpower genie or just some good advice.

What's sad is that I know what this all really boils down to is self-control ....

Onward ....

Amy,

I've experienced that a bit of myself, mainly on weekends or if we go out to eat. It does get better. This is day 31 of JUDDD for me. Sometimes if I am feeling a bit out of control it helps if I tell myself I can have it on the next UD if I still want it.

Welcome, hs!

Well, I am up a few pounds, I guess from water weight after eating late yesterday evening at a Chinese buffett, lots of salty, salty food that I'm not used to having. I mostly kept to meats and veggies, but they were all in salty or sweet sauces. I sampled a few of the battered, fried things. Had a small amount of lo mein noodles. A little of the fresh fruit for dessert. I also had a couple glasses of wine over the evening.

I expected an increase on the scales this morning, but I've made today a DD, so we'll see if things settle soon.

Amy, I have the same problem too, just gotta jump back on the horse the next day. I just had 2 UDs that were out of control and one DD back in control and still up in weight, so another DD, but hopefully tomorrow will be a controlled UD for me!!

Marie, glad you were back down. I was not however, since I was up that much I guess. I did not even step on the scale yesterday, but I was only down a little from the day before... where I was up 5 lbs from my sugar fest!! I hate sugar. I wish I would stay away from it. So today is going to be another DD I think... Or at least a MD for me. See if I can get back down some more...

Welcome HS... you will love this group of ladies, they are very supportive and helpful.

Paula, glad you are back down your weekend weight. hoping with you for fresh territory soon!!

1Anne, nice job on seeing a new number!! Whooo

Carrie, great job on your drop from your DD too! Let us know it works with your LC UD!!

Okay, if I missed anyone,

i will, cathy....i'm debating on what to have for lunch. it's a wonderful fall-ish here now, ie: coooool weather. soup sounds yummy. i have a can of soup with 16 net carbs that i am going to add a bunch of chicken breast too, but can't decide if that's too many carbs for my supposed LC day...

I have a very hard time making any day LC... All of mine gravitate to carbs, probably why I never did well on Atkins either! LOL

You are definitely not alone. I blew things so badly last week on my up days that I had a net gain over the week.

Some days I've been trying the leptin reset diet on my up days (50 grams of protein within 30 minutes of waking). Today I'm going to try adding in more coconut oil. Got to keep that appetite in control on my up days, it's been ridiculous. Not sure what exactly is going to work for me, but we can't give up, right?! I am not interested in maintaining at 129. I love the sound of the number, but I still have a big ole belly to get rid of.

Jouette- sorry you are leaving us. You may find that doing an UD/DD cycle helps you even if they are not as extreme as JUDDD calls for. The whole point is to reset your metabolism and it seems to work given enough time. Regular calorie cycling says drop 500 calories one day add 500 calories the next have an occasional extra high/extra low day. That might work for you. Best of luck.

Kristine- You made it farther than I could have. Congrats on the long hike.

emky- you've made a good start.

1annewil- woo hoo. It's a great feeling to see a new number. Good job.

AmyInTX- you may need to only allow only one splurge for each UD till you get past some of the urges. The frenzy to eat everything I couldn't have before passed after a couple of weeks. You will settle in.

Dazygirl- You are amazing. I let the stress get to me when my son was sick...thats when I gained all my excess weight. I pray for Noah every day and for the rest of your family too. Hugs.

I know I've missed a few, but this post is getting way too long. I'm rooting for your success.

awww, thank you, halos...i may still struggle in other areas where food is concerned, but i *think* i have conquered the emotional eating pretty well and no longer view stressful times as a justification for eating something i would not normally eat. it's been a loooooong time coming, so be gentle with yourself and continue working on that part...it will come.

You WILL be missed! Please stop in and say hi when you can!

Good morning all! And to all the newbies I see here! So glad to have you all on board with us!

Congrats to all the losers, maintainers, and everyone who is tweaking and seeing what works for them. Sugar has always been my problem, too and since LC and finding out that it's terrible for my Fibromyaglia.

I am up .8 pounds, as usual, coming off of an UD, and this is just fine because this is the trend for me in maintaining my current weight. DD today, and have a ton of veggies that need cooking before they go bad so it looks like a GIANT stir-fry for this girl with some chicken thrown in for good measure!

I'm wondering about something with everyone else here: I tend to go to the bathroom (#1) a lot more on my DDs. I am thinking it's the water weight from my UDs that I'm getting rid of, plus all the veggies I eat on my DDs. Is anyone else noticing this, too? I'm not drinking anymore than I usually do on either day so it's not that, I'm almost sure. I just think it's my body releasing the water gain from my UDs.

What do you guys think? Are you having this happen, too?

i am so FULL! i ate a LOT of fat today... sausage and eggs this morning...big ol' hunk o butter to cook my chicken in at lunch then topped with lots of shredded cheese and some ranch...lots of my sf fudge, almond butter, natural, sf peanut butter...made meatza for supper but only had a small piece...a little more sf fudge after supper. i am DONE for the day. i'm sure i went over on cals, but am secretly hoping that b/c it was lc day it won't have as much of an impact. we'll see in the morning, i guess.

Carrie,

I think you will do well since it was high fat, low carb. It will be interesting to see. Perhaps it will inspire me to watch my carbs. I had pizza tonight for the first time in a long time! I can already tell by my evening weight that I will be up, but, that is okay, I will go back down again.

thanks, marie. my ring is still pretty loose...silly to use that as a judge and guide of what to expect, huh? usually my ring gets a little more "tight" as the evening wears on.

hope your scale is kind in the morning, too!

Not sillly at all. I am excited for you! I will be satisfied if the scale shows 148. If I can cycle between 146-148, I am happy.

I've decided to only weigh myself on the morning after DDs. I mean, it should become pretty apparent that I'm over-doing UDs if I stop losing weight or I gain some after a week of tracking.

Good luck to all weighing tomorrow!
