Goink! Who would ever have thought that a *diet* could actually be fun? But this one sometimes produces such unexpected results that we're not just happy, we're crackin' up!

Continued good luck! I know there will still be those JUDDD bounces, those ups and downs along the way, but isn't it FUN!!!!!

So you got to enjoy chocolate and wine and be down another pound. You wouldn't have believed that was possible if I'd gone over and told you before you came over here, would you. And now, here you are, sharing your own great story about what it's like to be on the JUDDD plan.

I posted this over on your other thread, but wanted to put it here in response to you too!

OK. I just didn't want you to become disappointed. I didn't want you to work so hard and be so faithful and finally get to your goal, only to be bitterly disappointed if you popped back up again from adding back in some carbs. You are absolutely doing what it takes to get to where you want to be. I really enjoy watching your journey and your success.

Is Noah feeling good today? If the weather turns cooler, does he make him feel uncomfortable? You talked once about him having to have one chemo treatment per week for 40-some weeks??? Is there anything more than that for him, or does that take care of everything. I keep you folks in my prayers.

No, I don't think I would have believed it because I was still drinking wine on just LC and definitely not losing. I would have a piece of dark chocolate once or twice a month, but my weight was just coming off sooo slooowly.

I've found that Medium Carb is where it's at for me. Of course my "medium carb" would be considered high carb to some and very low carb to others, but I'll call it medium carb from now on.

On too low carb, I was losing so slow and getting frustrated, and on high refined carb, I'm a metabolic mess.

But with JUDDD's calorie restriction and medium carbs, buffered with the plentiful fat and protein of LC, I seem to have found my way!!

Thanks for all your and everyone's help and encouragement!!

After my first DD, I am 1.6 lbs lighter this morning

In celebration of my first *planned* UD (trust me, I've had many unplanned ones!), I decided to have dessert for breakfast. 1/2 c. whipped heavy cream with vanilla extract, cinnamon, and sucalose to sweeten. OMG yum. 410 cals, 3.5g carbs.

I'm aiming for 1600 calories total today. I will be working all afternoon with no time for lunch, so that will leave me with around 1200 calories to play with at dinner and for post-dinner snacking. That works out great because I will be up late writing a very difficult paper; nothing makes it easier for me to write than having something to nosh on constantly. I am loving this plan already!

Well, I'm happy to be up only .4 after yesterday. It helps that BOTH kids spent the night elsewhere and I was able to sleep in until 8:30. Wow, feels so indulgent when I'm usually up 5-7.

I'm trying the big breakfast again (leptin reset) today. Think it takes a 3 egg omelette to really make me feel full for hours. Wish I really loved it though...am not a big egg fan.

Sophie: congrats on your post-UD loss! That's always got to be awesome!

Em: congrats to you, too! To lose over a pound after one day on-plan had got to feel fabulous!! Dessert for brekkie sounds like it was fun. Enjoy your first "official" UD! and good luck with that paper.

I am back down to siggy weight after a week of feeling heavy and blah. I know it started with that darn wheat bran muffin last Saturday...but I'm also suspiscious of the gluc pudding. When I was following JUDDD in the spring, I would eat gluc pud once in a while. I was starting to notice more upticks that stuck and was wondering if it was the pudding. That would make me sad, because it's so nommy. But if it halts my progres, I'll kick it to the curb.

Today will be a MD, after yesterday's good DD, and so that tomorrow can start my regular UD/DD rotation with a DD. Shooting for 1050 calories.

Well, we went to dinner last night at Nordy's BBQ and I had a philly cheese steak and a baked potato, not all that horrible, not all that great, and the scale shot way up on me this morning about 4-5 lbs... UP!! Lordy!! I did high calories, and I am going to just take a deep breath and hope for a good DD today and hope for improvement tomorrow!! (sigh)..

Happy to hear you dropped a whopping 1.6 pounds right off the bat. That's pretty impressive. And your dessert for breakfast made me laugh. Have a good day and work hard. Good luck on your paper!

I did the eggs for breakfast for my first DD meal, and I'm also not a huge fan of eggs. But I was up from yesterday, so need a low carb DD today.

I'm interested in your leptin reset plan. I know a few at LCF have been doing it.. heavy protein very first thing in the morning, right? I'll look forward to hearing how it goes for you.

He is feeling good, thank you! Yes, he will need 43 weeks of chemo. We just had treatment #5. :/ around the 2nd week of dec, he wil begin the process of being set up for radiation . This will last 6 weeks. There are a couple of options for this as far as types of radiation, and he will most likely get the kind that requires a treatment 5 days a week for 6 weeks. We live over an hour away from the hospital, so that will be an intense 6 wks. But it's what we have to do and we'll just giterdone!

Good Morning, Andrea. Glad you're back down to siggy weight, and I'll bet it was the muffin bran. I do fine with wheat, and I do fine with most fiber, but making stuff with mostly just bran makes my intestines roil. So-o-o-o not good.

And the gluc absolutely passes slowly. That's part of why it contributes to that *full feeling* we appreciate at zero calories. But the *passing slowly* part is sometimes a bummer. Sometimes we'd weigh less if that darned stuff would hurry up and get through!

I go for periods without including much of it just because of that reason. But, on a day when I'm feeling a LOT of hungry tummy gurgles, and it's a DD that I want to be careful to keep to.. I'll enjoy the delicious puddings that I can make, and that takes away the hunger and allows me to come to the end of the day with great low calorie success. And I just figure, I don't really care that much that I've still got a tummy of gluc pudding in me.. as long as the calories stayed low and some FAT stayed off, or I lost a little more of my fat. I gave up being very concerned about what the scale said I weighed, and more concerned with the loss of my actual fat.

Hi, Cathy. Your supper last night sounds amazing. I love Philly cheese steak, and.. frankly, a good baked potato is awfully darned good on occasion. Sorry about your huge uptick in water weight gain though. I always know I'll be experiencing that after any meal that includes a potato (so I don't eat them too often), but I'm usually not up more than a couple of pounds. Although I will say, now that I think about it, I think I used to have a much, much larger backlash than these days, so maybe that was back when I was so much more carb sensitive.

I'll be thinking about you doing a good DD today, while I concentrate on doing a good DD for myself today also, as I enjoyed a delicious but higher carb supper last night with DH. Which included.. mashed potatoes.

Obviously they are a great fuel source, as our bodies seem to really like to glom onto those carbs and add in the water weight and pack as much into us as possible. I don't experience quite as much water gain on many other carbs as I do on potatoes. Worth it to me occasionally, but I enjoy bread too, and that doesn't seem to do it as strongly.

Have a good and successful day. I'll be thinking of you being full of resolve and doing a good day today, which will encourage me to do a really good day too.

WOW, you are really doing great.

****** does allow you to make custom foods. I sit with the package in my hand and enter the numbers that mean something to me. You can put in "net" carbs and know that is what you always do on custom foods. This might help if you more accurate numbers.

Since you are doing so well and are sooooo close to goal it might not be necessary.

Sophie, ****** does give you the fiber.. just not up in that top part.

Look down below the big listing of your foods with its related columns for protein and fat, etc, and to the left of the big colored pie chart graph is the listing of your foods in grams, and the portion of calories from each macro-catagory of food.

It will have listed for you the grams of carbohydrate, and beneath that it will give you the units of fiber, so you'll be able to subtract that out to get your net carbs if you want that figure.

WOW congrats to all the losers, lol! y'all are doing so great! even those who went up just a little bit seem to understand that it'll go back down again in a jiffy. SO inspirational!

yesterday turned out to be more of a MD so I'm taking today as an UD. it's so funny though, last night's reunion event was at a casino & most people ate this HUGE buffet that made me weak at the knees, I swear. I am so glad my girlfriends & I stopped and ate beforehand, and my dinner was very LC (C= calorie and carbs) - yay! Because man o man, if I hadn't done that I'm tellin ya, I could have snarfed BIG TIME at the buffet, lol. so funny how crazy I can feel sometimes around food. good garlic.

Seabreezes & Pat, I did not notice I could do/see that stuff on ******. I'll have to play around with it, but the site is usually so slow for me that it's all I can do to get the basic info in there. Thanks for the info!!

Bad weekend of eating. I am glad it is a DD and dh is back to work, lol. I told him no more UP day WEEKENDS. It is suppose to be Saturday only . For me, one day works better than the whole weekend. So, now to try to undo the damage. I've slacked on my walking and I can see where that has not been a good thing, so back to it today. Still waiting to see if my cycle is going to start....One month ago I started JUDDD to maintain, and I have accomplished that. I love JUDDD!! Edited to add, down a few oz's today. My stats to the left are updated.

Well, it's my 12th day on JUDDD, and my first day where I didn't lose anything . I knew it had to happen some time. Sat I was 166.0 (new low), Sun 166.2 (although I ate a ton on Sat, including 2 pints of beer and a couple classes of wine) so I was expecting that. I did a MD on Sunday, no alcohol, but was still 166.8 this am. So we're not talking much - but I'd kinda gotten used to losing EVERY day. Totally unrealistic, I know. Today is a DD with nothing but whey shakes, so hopefully I'll see 165something tommorow.

Hopefully everyone has a good monday, and we all stay on plan and post BIG losses tommorow!!!

SAME HERE!! after having done JUDDD for a little while now...and having done 2 days in row of basically UDs....i DON'T like it! i felt out of control. i NEED the discipline of DDs. now, i'm not going to change my weekends to include one DD and one UD as i want my weekday to always stay the same, but this weekend showed me i HAVE to be diligent on my MD during the weekend. it was too easy to make that day an UD.

i was not as fortunate as you to go down on the scale. i was UP 2.2 lbs this morning from yesterday's weight. but yesterday was my carbiest day ever. it was a GREAT family day and i am not even going to fret about it. i know it's water and i know it will come right off. it was fun to just enjoy the day and not be all freaky about food choices.

i welcome today's DD.

hope you all have a GREAT monday!

Still waiting to see if my cycle is going to start....One month ago I started JUDDD to maintain, and I have accomplished that. I love JUDDD!! Edited to add, down a few oz's today. My stats to the left are updated.
Make that 3!!!! Two UDs for me this weekend too and feeling the effects and the bloat and quite happy for a DD. I might do 2 DDs to make up for the 2 UDs... *that were more carby than I wanted too* ... I am not going to torture myself, but I also did not get on the scale this morning. I know I am up... no need to look at it and feel like crap... I will weigh tomorrow....

I am going to try for a really low DD too if I can manage it.... but I do have a long run this morning and turbo kickboxing tonight!!

Hows everyone else this cold and dreary Monday (well in Colorado its cold and dreary)

Cathy,

I am also considering 2 DD's. Or maybe a MD tomorrow. I will listen to my body. I got back to my walking, and almost walked an hour. I am learning ALOT about myself during this process, and I AM grateful for that. My dh thinks it is kind of ridiculous that I am worrying over it AS much as I am since I am having surgery in a month. I know in a way, he is right, but, my goal before surgery is to establish good habits. I am mainly .

First weighed in at 220.4 lbs this morning, hung out for 10 minutes, had some more...bathroom activity...and then weighed in at 219.4. I'm taking the second number, haha. It's more what I expected for today, and it makes me happy to be in the teens! It's the first time I can remember seeing a 21x number on the scale ever, definitely the first time in this diet, and I haven't weighed myself regularly for years, so it's entirely possible I missed the 21x's completely whenever I accumulated this extra weight. DD for me (AND just finished my period), so looking forward to another drop tomorrow hopefully!

I had my first really good DD yesterday at 400 calories...no cravings. Maybe I have finally turned the corner.

I have been reading every day, but not posting. The overnight 8 pretty much took the heart out of me. I am down 7 of those 8 now. I had such wonderful losses the first couple of weeks back on JUDDD that I got my hopes up for an easy time. Sigh!!! That still gives me a -3 for the first 5 weeks which is good for me ( I am such a slow loser).

I know this will work over time and I just have to stop making myself crazy with unreal expectations. I had a very stressful meeting Saturday that I had been dreading...that may have something to do with the calming of the cravings. I have one more major stress hurdle coming up. I have 20 pages of written work to do for a class in 2 weeks. My last class actually. I think it is messing with my mind. Relief and dread all mixed together. After that I should be in a much better frame of mind.

I follow each of your stories. I laugh, I cry, I pray, I do a Beeb cheer. Know that you keep me coming back. Quitting is not an option for me so I will continue to enjoy your successes as I slowly work my way down to join you.

Good for you Sally, we can only do 1 day at a time, and if we fall, brush off and start again. Thats my plan. I keep stumbling, but I keep on trucking too!! I am a quick gainer and a slow loser too, and its disheartening sometimes, but if we give up because of it, we give up on ourselves... so we plug along!! I feel like I have a sugar hangover today!!

Marie... I think our schedules are coinciding lately!! Our "hungry" days, our "unscheduled" UDs.... our "now planned double DDs''.... LOL maybe we were twins in another life... but you were the skinnier one!! LOL You got 10 lbs down on me!! How tall are you?
