It's MONDAY! What are you eating today?

I hope it's OK that I start this thread! I have enjoyed reading the sticky thread with recipes and also the old threads with this title. I'm loving the meal ideas for both UDs and DDs. Today is a DD for me. I'm new at this so still in progress figuring out the best way to handle DDs for me.

I am planning to fast until dinner which will probably come early - late afternoon.

Protein shake (160)
Egg white + veg scramble (150)
LC Toast + SF Jam (50)
Snack later: 94% FF popcorn (110)
Supplements (50)

This puts me pretty close to my 500 cal target for the day. Now I have to JUST DO IT!!!!

I plan everything for the day out ahead of time so that I know my calories are where I want them. Whenever I've been slack and just tried to *wing it*, by the end of the day I'd either run out of calories and was still hungry, or I'd given in to appetite and gone way over my calorie ceiling. The first is unpleasant, and the second results in JUDDD not being able to give me it's gifts.. not because it failed, but because I failed its very simple requirement. Hold true to the calories.

So I'm having a Down Day today, and here is my menu plan.

Breakfast: I usually have no appetite in the mornings, but today was different, so I fixed a pumpkin shake of 1-1/2 C unsweetened vanilla almond milk, 1/3 C canned pumpkin, 3/4 tsp. mixed cinnamon and pumpkin pie spice, 2 tsp. sugar, and a bit of gluc powder to thicken. Delicious. (125 calories)

Lunch: A salad of 1/2 can water-packed tuna, 4 oz. shredded lettuce, 2 oz. chopped tomato, and my choice of a ZERO calorie salad dressing. (76 calories)

Afternoon Snack: Toast w/peanut spread. 2 slices low cal bread, toasted, with 1-1/2 tbsp. fat free butter spread and 2 tbsp 0-cal Walden Farms Peanut Spread. (88 calories)

Supper: In the mood for something Italian-ish, so.. 6 oz. mixed shirataki noodles, 1 oz shredded onion, 2 oz shredded yellow pepper, 6 oz diced zucchini, and 1/2 cup spaghetti sauce, sprinkled over with mixed Italian herbs. (123 calories)

Evening Snack: French Toast. Yum! 1 slice low-cal bread, soaked in 2 tbsp eggbeaters and 2 tbsp unsweetened vanilla almond milk, fried golden brown and crispy (a bit of Pam oil spray in my non-stick skillet) and topped with ZERO calorie Walden Farms Pancake Syrup. (67 calories)

Total calories for this Down Day: 489 - Total net carbs for this Down Day: 61.9

Beverages for today will be mostly water, perhaps some iced tea, 0-cal flavored beverages.
I do not count calories for meds and supplements. Just not worried about them.

Start Date: eating lowcarb since 2005
UD for me. I usually do mon wed fri DDs but we are going to the state fair Friday. No way I'm doing a DD at the fair.

40 min jog this morning then a protein shake with 1 cup almond milk, 1T co and 1 scoop protein
Breakfast at work. Half cup fage, 1T cocoa, 1T flax, 2T almond milk to thin it, some liquid sweetener and 1T sunflower seeds on top, and 1 boiled egg.
Lunch was rotisserie chicken, about 4oz, 1 cup broccoli, half a zucchini cut up, 1 stalk to celery and half a T of evoo poured on top.
Snack of a 70 cal tuna pouch and a boiled egg
Also had a few mixed nuts and some pork cracklins

Went to the gym during my lunch break and walked uphill for half an hour then back to the gym after work and 30 min on the elliptical.

Dinner was rotisserie chicken, about 6 oz with 2 cups spinach, 2 cups romaine, 1 cup mushrooms, half of. Roma tomato, 2 sf baby gherkins, a little bit of chopped pecan, homemade salsa and ranch dressing. Yummy
I will probably have a sf jello later with a couple T of fage on top.

Cals for the day about 1700. Net carbs 48, 16 fiber, protein 127 grams and fat 98 grams

You're doing just great, Shelly. I like doing walks this time of year when it's not so hot, but I can't do a 40 minute jog!

I know you will have a really fun, fun time at the State Fair. Come back and tell us what outrageous and silly *fair food* you indulged in so that we can enjoy it vicariously.

Medium day because I need to adjust my rotation screw up, which means 1000 calories for today!

B......Dottie's biscuit, Low cal with an egg beater and 3/4 a piece of bacon.....(Little Miss Cleo (my dog) got the other 1/4 piece ), cup of tea w/half and half........181 calories

L.....2 fat free hot dogs on a Joseph's pita w/mustard, SF relish, and hot peppers, a cup of coffee w/half and half........184 calories

D.....Perdue perfect portions boneless chicken breast, kimchee, quinoa and chopped veggie salad, 2 tbs horseradish sauce......332 calories

S.....PB and SFJelly on a slice of 70 calorie bread cut in half (wish they sold the low cal bread here!) to make 2 pieces, SF/FF Jello pudding made with Calorie Countdown Milk w/SF canned whipped cream, coffee w/half and half X 2........260 calories

Grand total for today.......957 calories and 62.63 net carbs

Final accounting for myself for this Down Day.

I didn't have the evening snack of French toast after all. Just wasn't hungry enough to go to the trouble of fixing it. LOL

So that saved me 67 calories.

Final total for the day: 422 calories. 54 net carbs.
