Good morning everyone. I had by far the hardest dd yesterday of them all. I was so hungry all day long. I had a full bar around 11am just so I wouldn't cave and make it an ud. Then had another bar about 8pm last night. A total of 300 calories but man, was it hard! I even woke up several times during the night hungry which has never happened to me. Then usually I wake up not hungry on my ud even if I go to bed hungry the night before, but this morning I was starving! weird! still sitting at my net 1 pound gain that I've gained over the last week and a half and am just not sure what is going on, but I do know THIS..I am going to ENJOY this UD, My sister has lost 9 pounds in like 8 days and is doing really well! I'm really happy for her and yes, having someone in real life doing JUDDD along side me is definitely a plus on those hard dd's. I must say if she had said she was tempted to blow it yesterday, I would have gladly done so with her. As it was, she actually had a total fast day...wasn't bothered by not eating! hehe! it's actually good for me to have her say that. Helps me stay balanced.

I want to agee with RFL again that I really appreciate the experience here. It's not always an easy way to live but beats by far anything else I've tried! have a great JUDDD day!

LOVE LOVE LOVE all your posts!!

I've got to run, our youngest daughter (The Princess) is sick YET again! Good thing we had an appt today in place for a specialist.

Today is a DD for me, which is fine. I'm just hoping and praying that I don't get too starved going in town. I'm packing a couple of HB eggs and my water, should be OK.

Blessings to everyone today! HAPPY JUDDDing!!!

I love all the posts as well! Leisa~ my down day was also very hard yesterday. I was actually cranky. Seems I might need an attitude adjustment!

Hope everyone has a good day!

You should have eating your glumplings, Blonde--that way, you would've been so shocked at what you were doing that you wouldn't have had the energy to be cranky

TODAY is a DD for me, and I want to eat for all the wrong reasons!

I'm feeling 'blah.' I'm not sick, but I don't feel great--and I have no appetite at all. However, in the past, I would always eat when I didn't feel well. It's a form of feeling sorry for myself. I used to comfort myself with food!

Now that I'm beyond such bad habits, it's frustrating to be in the situation where I would normally eat for comfort and know rationally that I'm not at all hungry, so food should not be an issue.

It's so ironic that on a DD when you'd think I'd welcome a loss of appetite, I want to eat Old habits die hard. . . .

I've had 350 cal, maybe I'll just have a little piece of chocolate and then, off to bed !

I don't know yet if I'll be working tomorrow or not (might depend on what happens in japan tonight) but I'm real tired ^^

Doing okay. Today was a weigh in day and I was up even with having a dd yesterday. I did manage to stay under 500 but really struggled to stay out of the kitchen. I am in the middle of ovulating so think that might be the reason for the gain and wanting to eat without really being hungry.

LOL! Penguin, I probably won't make glumplings anymore...it was too much like flubber...or grandson of flubber. Perhaps I did something incorrectly.....

Oh I feel for you! I personally had to stop weighing because I knew I was doing everything right and I still would sit at a stand still. I weigh once a month. It's easier to stay with it if I'm not disappointed by a lack of movement on the scale.

Good evening everyone!

Leo: BIG HUGS for you my JUDDD friend! I pray you feel better soon and this day passes quickly.

HI to Y'all!!! I hope to post more as The Princess gets better. We went to the ENT today and they want to scan her tomorrow. They didn't want to treat her until AFTER the scan, so she is miserable and dealing with fever and all the yukkies.

I'm reading all the posts, but just not posting a whole lot right now.

Thank you all for your kind wishes for The Princess' healing!

I didn't get to "pamper" much, but I DID get to hang out in bed for a time and that felt VERY pampering!

I'm rooting for all of you and your success on JUDDD!

Talk to y'all soon!!

Hey everyone! Today was my weigh-in and so far I've lost 3 pounds! I seem to be doing really good at doing the calorie cycling thing so I'm sticking with it. 2.4 more pounds to go till I hit the 170 mark, which it where I always get stuck. I just want to see 169 for once!!!

Blonde- Good for you weighing only once a month! Years and years ago when I first dieted (age 14!) that was actually recommended, and I found it a great practice--all month I was focused on my WOE rather than the scale number, and I was never disappointed when I weighed.

Throughout my weight loss process, I never weighed except weekly, but I was never confident enough to just weigh monthly, although I know it's probably the best choice. My problem is that I managed to get over 300 lbs by NOT getting on the scale (and convincing myself that I weighed much less), so I'm determined to keep track now.

Annie- I'm glad your DD worked out for you! I got through mine as well, and I'm meeting a friend for breakfast this morning. She's on 'spring break' (a college professor) and wants to celebrate after our workout session. Breakfast is my favorite meal, and this will feel luxurious because I don't have to cook it

I certainly did avoid the scale for many years and it got me into trouble, too! Knowing I'm doing the right stuff helps me to wait. If I were to get out of control it would be another story for sure, but for now it works. And you're right, I'm concentrating on the WOE and hoping the numbers will show at the end of the month.

Hi Ladies!

Well, been off the reservation for awhile now. Kind of akin to a young Amish girl going out into the big city. But I'm not Amish and I'm not young.

For some reason, I have the attention span of a fly when it comes to packing it in for the long haul on ANY kind of eating plan. I guess the one thing I do is keep trying (most days).

When last I posted I had been sick for about a week and then I jumped into my handbasket and went straight to eating hell! Have been reforming myself by changing my eating to low carb over the last couple of weeks and hopefully that will help me keep my head on straight(er). But am finding if I don't control those calories, they will control me.

So the plan - back to my old friend JUDDD while eating low carb. I'm so glad for the staying power of those on this board. It's nice to be able to come back home!

Going to attempt a DD today but may slide back in with a MD. Am off work and hanging with kids - my daughter is home from college for spring break and my son is on his spring break as well. Makes it a bit more difficult since we have some outings planned today.

Have a good day!

Laura

Good luck, Laura. I know from personal experience how calories can get out of control, and low carb or not, when they do, I GAIN.

When I started JUDDD and counted on UDs (I always do), I was simply amazed at how quickly those calorie can add up!

It may be tough with the kids home, so give yourself a break with a MD if you have to. It's always best not to try too hard at first because then it's too easy to get discouraged and give up, IMO.

Good morning everyone. Well, today is a dd. Water weight is still hanging on with a vengeance. I did go buy some ACV with "mother" yesterday and am sipping some right now in a cup of hot water. Nasty smelling stuff I must say.
RFL it says on the bottle (Bragg brand) that it's good to have 3 times a day. Would that be recommended for water retention? I'm guessing it might be a good idea. I'll google it too but thought I'd ask you and anyone else who uses it (can't remember)
LEO, sorry you had a tough dd yesterday. I totally understand what you mean cause I've always been the same way when I'm sick. It's a "feel sorry for myself, so I'm going to comfort myself with food" thing. I also think for me it may go back to being sick as a child when my mother would bring me food and pamper me, so I associate the food with the love and pampering.
ok, I know I've missed some comments that I meant to make, so I'll do that in another post. I'm really hoping the acv gets rid of my water retention cause I'm tired of it!

I think I"m having another hard dd today...stomach growling but most of all we have some stressful stuff going on today which, combined with the fact that I'm not losing weight right now makes me want to not worry about trying to have a dd. I am quite tempted to switch to fast 5 and just eat tonight....tempting....hate to admit that I'm feeling that way but there it is...

Laura! Great to see you back!! I missed you and your humor! I know this sounds easier said than done, but girl, I take Walden Farms dressing with me everywhere...a big salad always fills me up (for awhile, anyway). and have fun with your kids!

Leisa, do what you need to do as long as it's beneficial to you. The main thing is to be aware of your desire to be healthy (physically and mentally). I've had some wicked DD's lately so much so that I've been filled with dread at times at the prospect of another DD around the corner...but I hang. I'm not even sure why I hang.....

Leo, you are part of the reason I hang in there. You are an inspiration.

Hi all Judders!

I am still here and trying to get a handle on it still. My weight is all over the place and so is my eating. I know it has alot to do with hormones but I am really trying to figure out how to work around that. This is kinda new to me so it may take me a while to figure it out. I know one thing I will succeed!!

When talking about maintanence I have to agree with Leo start planning it now. It is not easy to do. I am just going to add that as I get a bit older with hormones all over the place that I have to be flexible and bend to try to figure out what works now today!! Your maintanence plan may change as you do. Am I making sense?? Right now I am stuggling but I recognized it and making changes to my plan. Judd may not wind up the answer for me but you have to stay open minded to try other things and journal while doing it.

Today is a dd for me. I have a coffee group to go to tonight so will need to save some of those calories for that. I've been good at keeping my calories well under 500 the last several dd other than my total messed up days so I don't see any issues as of yet.

Haven't read all the posts but RealFood did you lose all that strictly doing JUDDD? By the way congrats.

Ellgee: Yes having the kids at home is difficult when trying to follow any plan. My kids are in high school and right now they are on a two week break. Eating me out of house and home. I say you wouldn't be eating right this moment if you were in class would you but apparently they are starving to death so who knows. lol.

Good job SammyKat.

I think Leo mentioned keeping track on UP days. Yes I think I am going to have to do that as well. I am losing and gaining the same 3lbs every other day. Pretty sure I am eating way more than my allotment for up days.

I have been eating brown rice on both days because it is filling and relatively low calorie but I do think the carbs are what is keeping me from actually losing beyond the initial 8lb lose I had the first week.

Mom- I have always had to count on UDs because I need to keep my calories at 1400 or below--and my mind wants much more than that! I also have to eat low carb (about 20g) because my CCL is very low. More carbs, and my body starts storing fat because my appetite soars. Fortunately, I feel great eating low carb and have no problems with my food choices at all.

Keep in mind that if you weigh frequently, you're going to see big fluctuations with JUDDD that don't represent actual fat gain. So you actually may be OK with those 3lb jumps. I've only weighed once a week for that reason.

Hi All!

I haven't posted much in recent weeks due to being sick with the flu, but I have been keeping up on all the posts. Being sick really played havoc with my diet and appetite. The doctor said just to eat whatever I felt like eating and eat whenever. That's fine except I had no appetite at all and now, 3 weeks later, my eating is completely off. I felt recovered enough to start back on JUDDD on Monday, but its really been rough. Days that should have been DD wind up being MD or UD, so planning on what to eat really hasn't worked for me this week at all. I don't think I am getting enough calories on my UD and there seems to be more MD mixed in. I guess I am just going to have to go with eating whatever I feel like but really keep a close eye on the calorie consumption making sure I get enough but not too much and at the same time eat the foods that are protein dense, lower carb and most of all, healthy.

Well, I think I might actually make it through this day as a DD! So far I've had 298 calories and kept today extremely low carb. Plan to have some chicken and vegetables for dinner. I'm so excited! I enjoyed the control of the day. For the past two weeks, I've just been counting my carbs and eating willy nilly. As I said before, no can do. Scale was going up, up, up! So it was nice to keep things in check and not have a day long eating fest! Felt really good.

Blonde - Good to see you too! You have just kept right on trucking. Good for you!!! Walden Farms - I have some in my cabinet that I have yet to open. Thanks for reminding me.

Mom - I hear you! My kids keep telling me there is nothing to eat. I cannot possibly fit one more item in my fridge and there's nothing to eat? Plus my daughter has her list of places she has to get food from before she goes back to college. What's odd is our town is very small and she goes to college in a huge city! But I guess podunk always has a Dairy Queen.

Leisa,

I'm catching up on posts.
I'm SO sorry you are having these struggles!!
I hope and pray things go better for you!

BTW, I drink the acv in my water all through the day.

I don't understand wanting to "combine" JUDDD with HCG. My understanding is that HCG has a very specific protocol to follow.

Personally, I think that if one choose a plan, it should be followed specifically. Most plans work because of the specific details involved.
