Morning ladies. Today is my scheduled DD. I'm at 261lbs this morning making my official September loss 10.8lbs. I'm pretty thrilled with this. I've never lost 10lbs in a month on regular Atkins - at any carb level.

Have a great day!

That awesome Pooticus! Congratulations!

I had my 2 week weigh in today and I didn't lose anything. I'm bummed but I'm actually not letting it discourage me this time. I know where my problem is so I need to do some tweaking to my UD and not eat so much after work. I'm going to keep plugging along!

My DD menu from yesterday was:

3 oz. shrimp (77)
1 tbsp cocktail sauce (15)
1 c. light chicken noodle soup (70)
1 chicken sausage on 1/2 a thin sandwich bun (160)
1 bag popcorn (100)
SF jello (10)

Total: 437

Yippee Poot, almost 11 pounds down in a month. I will be tickled pink if I come close to that after a month.

Jiggles, I don't know how much you weigh, but judging from your avi, I don't think you have much to lose, so it will go slower, but four pounds is wonderful.

Today is DD and I am again doing Linda Sue's tweaked spinach mushroom quiche for two meals and 50 grams of smoked salmon with 1 tablespoon of low fat cream cheese. I have almost 100 calories left to play with, and I'm thinking of doing something with cauliflower. That sounds almost sexy.

Pat! I'm pretty shocked to tell the truth!

You are doing so great girl. I know you will have wonderful results!!! Your meal sounds so lovely. I really adore smoked salmon but Denny, eh, not so much. How about a roasted cauliflower soup? You can add a splash of coconut milk instead of cream. I loved ours. Made it curry flavor. Was very filling and a big bang for the calorie buck!

You guys are doing great! I haven"t weighed this week because of TOM, but I will tomorrow. Jiggles, like you, I don't have much left to lose and it's going slowly, but as long as I can lose even a little, I can live with it.

DD for me today. Will post more later!

I lost 3 lbs. the first week and am still down so I guess that's good. I have about 30-35 lbs. I want to lose. I know it's not much so it will be a slow process for me so even though I was hoping for a bigger # I was expecting to actually see it. And the scale said low battery so maybe that had something to do with it.

Pat, that quiche sounds good. I'll have to give that a try!

Hi everyone. I am in one of those "moods" today. Maybe it's due to the fact my Aggies lost - (snicker at Jessica...lol) Great game tho. Honestly I think its due to the fact I consumed almost 1800 calories on my UP yesterday. I am glad is a DD today. It's seems to somehow make it easier to deal with.

Poot - WTG! That is awesome!

Pat - Great job! That quiche sounds yummy. Might have to find me a recipe.

Jessica - my weigh in is tomorrow - I hope I see results, tho I am not optimistic.

Jiggles - your doing a great job. It will happen.

Hi Jess, can't wait to hear tomorrow. Be Gone TOM!!!! LOL! You will lose it all and I bet you will end up lowering your goal and you already look smashing so it will be gilding the lily!!! (BTW, congrats on the win last night )

Jiggles I'm going with it's the scale thing too. Your DDs look so awesome! I can't imagine that your UDs are that bad!!! You are gonna have that 35lbs off in no time at all girl!

Kel, have you been to Dr. Js sight to look at your calculations? I am betting that 1800cals is not gonna be a big deal for you after all. For me? Maybe, but I bet not for you. LOL on the Ags. I was so excited during the first half then got distracted cuz we ended up eating out last night at the Mexican restaurant and before I knew it I was all, "Wuh Wuh?" How did they get 3million points?!!! *sigh* oh well, this too shall pass... I'm betting you will see results tomorrow!!!!

Honestly, I think anyone on EITHER side who watched that game and didn't die of a heart attack two or three times deserves congratulations.

What a game! Holy smokes! I have to say that the Ags looked way better than I expected, and very, very fast. It was one of those "whoever happens to have the ball on the last possession wins" games. As entertaining a game as I've seen in years.

So far today I have had:

B: 2 slices of Oroweat lite toast with 1 T. SF jam, 90

L: commercial tuna salad pack, 150

Don't know what dinner will be. If we go out, I'll probably have a salad sans dressing and eat some sort of protein at home. I'm never confident about ordering any kind of protein at a restaurant on a Down Day. It's hard to cook meat without using fat.

Back later!

Oh man, Shelly your menu looks AWESOME and so much nutrition!!! Ok, that's my goal for next week. I'm going to max out my nutrition for calories! Monday I'm going to follow Jiggles day and Wednesday I'm following Shelly's day!

My DD yesterday went very easily. Little hunger. Feeling good. I tried experimenting with a gluten free recipe for pizza crust last night. It wasn't that good but it was very filling. I will be back later tonight (leaving soon) with the exact numbers but I had 1/4 of a 12" pizza with salad and was very full and within 500 calories for the day including a salad.

I'm still at 261.0 today but that is my pre-poopy weight (sorry TMI) and I know I'm "due" for one - so not too concerned. But it was truly a "lost week" due to last weekend's celebration. Again, in the big picture not too concerned but it is a teaching thing for me.

Have a beautiful day everyone!!! Will be back tonight to post!

Good morning, JUDDDers.

I had my first MD yesterday. I have mixed feelings about how it went.

Fasting during the day was harder than it's been on my DDs, and harder than when I was on Fast-5 and doing a 19-hour fast every day. When I saw other people eating lunch, I wanted to eat, even though they were eating food I don't particularly like... I just went back to my classroom & got busy grading papers instead.

I think this happened because I'd only eaten under 500 calories the day before, and then I fasted the next day.

I did complete that fast, until 5 p.m., and then ate a wonderful big salad and some tri-tip... and then "grazed" off and on for the rest of the night. Ate healthy foods, but too much of them.

So perhaps fasting until 5 p.m. on the day after a DD doesn't work for me. I might need a different approach to a MD.

Perhaps I need to plan out my food for a MD just like I do for DDs. I find it easy to follow the menu plan for a DD after I've posted it here, and I just stop eating once I've finished those foods.

Hmm...

Alternating UDs and DDs has been easy for me. That's what I prefer.

UD today. After a walk with a friend, I had a cheese omelet cooked in coconut oil - a healthy, high-protein start to my day. I'm going to be having both lunch and dinner at another friend's house, and I intend to make healthy food choices all day today.

Enjoy Saturday, everyone!

Finally weighed in today (after a week of TOM), and down a pound!

Up Day today, but hoping to keep it a very moderate one. Tomorrow I will have to have a medium day, in order to keep my personal schedule from being too impossible this week. It'll be my first one. I feel a little anxious about it.

to Jessica, for your weight loss.

Isn't it great to be on JUDDD and not be stalled?

I have been so impressed with your commitment & your patience, back when I met you on the Atkins 72 threads and also here.

You are an inspiration to me.

That might be the nicest thing anyone's ever said to me! Thank you!

(And I've learned the hard way, alas, that the only option to patience is giving up and gaining the weight back. And that is NOT going to happen!)

Pat - K20 is a protein/fiber drink made by Kelloggs Special K. It comes in little pkgs that you mix into your bottled water.

I am down almost 2 lbs this week! Definitely gives me incentive. Today is an UP day for me, but I think I am going to try and keep it moderate as my Dad's b day is tomorrow and we are eating out.

WTG everyone on their weight loss. A whole lot better than gaining.

Hi Everyone!

Jessica - Congrats on being down another pound. Girl you are just the bomb!!!!! Wooot! I'm so excited for you and so happy you are seeing results with all of your diligence and hard work!

Suze - 2lbs in 3 weeks is excellent hon!!! Big congrats to you! I think the only reason mine is coming off fast is cuz I have so much to lose!? Maybe I've been carrying a lot of water too and that's why it's doing it? but can't wait to be able to get to your excellent weight!!!

Kel - Congrats on your weightloss this week!!!! Don't you love it?? I am gonna have to check out the K20. Sounds interesting! Hope your dad's birthday was fun and that you were able to keep it "between the lines"! (your food choices).

Ok so here was Friday's DD Menu that I promised. We got home late yesterday and I was pooped! Kel we went to about 10 resale shops and went "junking". I definitely got my walking in girl! My weight is down to 260.4lbs this morning so I'm back to last Saturday's weight. My UD yesterday was pretty weird. I ended up only eating one meal and 1oz of macadamia nuts, and 2 squares of Lindt 85%. Didn't intend for that to happen but lunch was very late and I wasn't hungry last night - so didn't end up eating except for the 2squares of Lindt. Still ended up going over my 1400cals! The avocado and dressing at the restaurant did me in. Even though I avoided the bun and didn't have any french fries or onion rings, that one meal was a whopping 1400calories or so! For a measly 4-5oz burger!

So today is a MD for me and I'm walking the straight and narrow! Have lots of cooking to do today for my sissy (I cook low carb/So Beach meals for her) - so busy day!

Friday, Oct 1, 2010 DD (472Cals, 29.5gF(55%), 20.3gC(16%), 6.2gFi, 34gP(29%)

B- Decaff Coffee, black, unsw
L- Water
D- 1/4 Gluten Free Pizza (1/4crust, 1/3c ps mozzarella, 1oz onion, 1oz rbpepper, 1-1/2 mushrooms, 1/3 plum tomato, 1.25oz shrimp, 1 tsp parmesan, 1tsp olive oil) (451)
Salad (1c Romaine, 1c Spinach, 1/4 Cucumber, 1oz onion, 1oz rbpepper, 2Tbsp WF Cal Free Bacon Dressing) (21)

Hope everyone has an awesome day!!!

Good Morning, Everyone.

DD for me today. I'm enjoying the light, relaxed feeling of having just tea in the morning.

It feels good to get back to a DD after a MD and an UD. I really do like having a DD every other day.

Menu plan for today:

Brocolli/Cauliflower Soup from the DD Recipes thread - 1/2 recipe (150 cal)
2 hard boiled eggs (140 cal)
1 T mayo (90 cal)
2 slices Ryvita (80 cal)
salad greens (20 cal)
zero calorie salad dressing (Walden Farms)

Total: 480 calories

Have a great day today!
Cynthia

Shelly, I just made your brocolli-cauliflower soup. Wow!

There didn't seem to be enough liquid to cook all the veggies, so I added 1 cup of organic mushroom broth (only 5 calories).

This is awesome! Delicious! So healthy and so satisfying on a cool night.

I've got a lot of soup here, too. Do you use big bowls?

Thanks so much for the recipe!!!! Yum, yum, yum!

Pooticus, please do not discontinue posting here! I would certainly miss your good-humored observations. But do what works best for you to support your efforts to lose weight--after all, that's why we are all here!

My medium day spiraled into another Up Day, which justifies my nervousness about trying to do one, I guess. Tomorrow I will be back to my every other day plan, and hope I won't see any long-term damage from the two Up Days in a row!

I use 6 bowls to divide the soup up. I think the bowls I use are either 3 or 4 cup but they are usually about half full. I like my soup to be really thick and hearty is why i dont use as much liquid. Once i puree it quite a bit its really thick and chunky. Alot of people will have to add more liquid for their tastes. I'm really glad you like it. I'll be eating on it for 2 wks. It makes it so much easier on DD's not having to worry about what im going to eat. I love making that big pot of soup and then having it for a couple weeks thne i try something different. Who knows what I will come up with next time...lol

Poot, please dont stop posting here. We will all miss you.
