Thanks Dasiey, I did my down day yesterday, I am down two pounds this morning.
I did go to the website and thats how I got my numbers I should be around 540 on down days and 2400 on up days. I get the concept I was curious about actual results and if people enjoyed it here. I did visit and read the JUDDD thread here but I always feel like I am interrupting when a thread is that long and the people already are friends, feels like intruding on private conversations. Thats why I thought I would make it its own thread that way if someone could help they would and if not I didn't interrupt anything. Truly thank you for your input all is welcome at this point.

Melissa, I'm new to the JUDDD thread, and although there are lots of people who know each other, it's a very welcoming and friendly place.
Come on over; we can be 'newbies' (man, I hate that word, lol) together! This is my second week doing JUDDD, it's a very different experience, and I am LOVING it! Really, just jump in, you will be welcomed with open arms by everyone! |

Come visit us on the JUDDD thread--we have a lot of new people all the time and welcome anyone who wants to try it.
I can give you a brief recap of my own experience. I've been on JUDDD for about 5 months and have lost 31 lbs. I lost a lot on my own regular low carb plan over a few years (I'm post-menopausal and hypothyroid and lose very slowly). But then I stalled for a long, long time. Part of the reason was the fact that I'd lost so much and my body had to adjust, but a big part of the problem is that because of my age and medical condition, I need to seriously restrict calories to <1000 daily. Trying to do that every day was extremely frustrating and led to regular overeating. JUDDD has solved that problem for me. By the way, you can adjust the UD numbers any way you want, so I try to eat 300-400 cal on DDs and 1400 on UDs. That has been working well for me, and I've been losing about a pound a week. After 499 cal, 1400 seems like a feast, so I don't feel at all deprived or frustrated with JUDDD. I eat low carb mainly for health reasons and because I'm so insulin resistant that it's the only way to control my appetite. But most of us have found that JUDDD is amazingly forgiving of carbs. When I DO eat any carbs (as I did last Sunday), I don't get any hunger or cravings as I would on standard low carb. In his book, Dr. J mentions that JUDDD helps lessen insulin resistance, and I'm inclined to agree, given my experience. I don't do true alternation, as it's easier for me to just do DDs on M,W,F, and I try to make one of my weekend days a "medium" day at about 1000 cal., but often it winds up being another UD, and that hasn't hurt too much. Once you get used to the DDs, it becomes more habit than anything else, and it actually feels good to eat so little. Some people can fast completely on DDs, but I haven't been able to do that. I get 'anxious' if I think I can't eat! By the way, regardless of your calculator numbers, Dr. J insists that for the first two weeks your DDs should be no more than 500 cal. I think there's some science behind this, but you should have no problem with that. |

I haven't posted on the Juddd thread yet, but this is my second week. Last week I lost 4.5 pounds!!
This week I'm only showing about .5 down with a couple more days before weigh in. My numbers are dd 589, up 1980. I usually come closer to 600, 1700. Maybe I should go visit the thread and introduce myself.... ![]() |

I've been doing JUDDD for a little over two months and I've lost 14 lbs. I had lost an average of two pounds per MONTH for the six months before that.
I started doing 500 calorie down days, but recently have found I have an easier time not eating anything. I drink water, tea, coffee (sometimes with a little milk) and diet soda. |
