Cherry Blossom -

The frustration was evident in your post but if it is any consolation, I am in awe of you!!

While you may not think you have moved far, you have lost at a VERY acceptable rate and look how close you are to onederland!!! I have always said if I ever get to onederland, I am going to walk around naked all the time.

Yeah, it is a bummer that your husband has lost so quickly but that's guys for you. My husband can do the same thing.

Keep your eyes on your goal because you will get there! You are past the halfway mark and on the downhill slide toward where you want to be. Pull out the pictures of you at your highest weight. That will show you how much you have really accomplished.

YOU CAN DO IT!!

I've just read alot of studies (non-promotional ones of course) and the info seems undeniable that it has very good health effects, and not in just one field. Kinda cool!

If you want my honest opinion, I don't think activating SIRT1 has anything to do with weight loss on JUDDDD. Mostly because the studies don't seem to mention anything about SIRT1 helping with weight loss. I think the calorie restriction and calorie-cycling does that."
Kamicryze- I've stumbled on this too and I was interested in them as well. I wonder what others think. I would like to try them at some point. I mean red wine is very healthy for you so it must be good for you, right?

So I had a good DD yesterday thanks to all of your helpful advice. And I'm down this morning! Yay! Today is my UD of course and I will have to be careful that I don't go overboard. Must be sensible w/ cal and planning on working in some exercise.

Has anyone tried callanetics? I've heard good things and thinking of trying it.

ok have a good one everyone!

I had to google callanetics bc I haven't heard of them.
I found a few threads here at LCF about them. Kinda neat.

I ate more than usual on my UD today and even opened my window 45 minutes early because I really just wanted to eat. I was up early, at the doctors office and then had my cleaning job to do (3 hours), then took dd's to their program at the library. Once they were inside, I decided 4:15 was ok to eat, lol! I was totally exhausted and I think that played into my decision. I was also pretty stressed today (whole nuther story) Originally, I had planned to run while they were there, but I was so tired after my cleaning job that I decided not to. Anyway, I have no idea how many calories but I'm not too worried. That's the good thing about fast 5, if I don't start eating till 5 (or 4:15 in todays case) it's much harder to overeat. Love it!

Good Morning,

This is a DD for me. I think I might try a fast today. Any tips other than just stay away from food?

Has this plan messed with anyones TOM? I hope this isn't TMI... but I just finished TOM a week ago and I seem to be starting again

Slim: I tried Callanetics a number of years ago. I had a couple of videos and a book. It didn't do a whole lot for me. I deffinitely get a lot more out of lifting at the gym. But certainly it must work well for some people since there seems to be quite a following.

Cherry Blossom: Today is a new day! I hope you are feeling much more positive today

Hey everyone...Yes, Laura it is a new day and I'm glad. Some days it's hard to pull myself up by the bootstraps. Thanks for the encouragement Pushing40, Laura, and Trish. All of you are doing well and I appreciate your kind words. It's a DD for me. I stayed within my limits yesterday and am going to keep my calories at 500 today. I hope I get better results tomorrow than the last DD. All of you, Keep up the great work and the inspirational posts!

Good Morning JUDDDERS!

I DID have a great UD yesterday, and tried to eat more healthy and stayed within my limits. I am down .4 this morning after an UD.

I am going to have an egg cream for dinner and that's it today. MAYBE, JUST MAYBE I will see 121 in the morning. I have my fingers crossed.

I wish everyone Happy JUDDDING today!

Cherry Blossom: I hope you have a great day.
Michelle: I hope you see your goal tomorrow - if not you're on the road to victory!
Snaggle: Great idea about those vegetables. I made the soup yesterday and was a little disappointed. It was more like pureed veggies. I wanted more of a cream soup. I'll have to tweak that recipe and will try roasting the veggies next time.

Everyone, I hope you have a great day. Very special day for my family. Our son graduates from college; and my sister and her husband are coming to visit. Lots of food today but I'm going to try to not eat junk. Have a great weekend!

Okay, both of us stuck you are moving not me. I had a much better UD yesterday too, did not count but much better than any before - up three pounds this morning. This would not normally bother me because, I used to be able to get two pounds off during the day doing a WF and one pound over night. But this is not happening anymore. I seem to be gaining a little with each UD and not losing as much on down days. I don't know what happended but my body is revolting. Really I should be on maintance but I keep gaining so much on UD even with doing well that I am afraid to eat more on DD's. Any suggestions out there? Has this happened to anyone else. What I was doing before is not working. Cleaning up my UD is not working. I no longer feel in control of my weight like I did when I started this WOE back in February.

Good morning! I had a wonderful DD yesterday. It is amazing how much more you appreciate, taste and savor your foods when you are truly hungry. I snuck a peak at the scale this morning. The number I saw was fantastic but I'm not going to track my weight until I give it an entire week.

Maryposa-

Be sure to ask your doctor about those BC pills. It seems just too coincidental that your inability to lose began when you started taking them.

On another board, I just read about a woman who was taking a med temporarily (she didn't name it), and suddenly began gaining weight. When she talked to her doctor, he insisted the med could NOT cause weight gain and actually chided her for overeating. She continued to gain, but the minute she stopped the med, she began losing and lost all the weight she'd gained. She knows that it had to be the med because she didn't change her WOE, but her doctor still insists it wasn't!

a lot of salt yesterday and I'm retaining water this morning! DD for me today and I'm planning on an egg cream. I need to drink a bunch of water today also and flush out this water. I drank a huge bottle of water last night and never woke up to go to the bathroom. Have a great day everyone! I'm taking my girls skating this afternoon with the homeschool group, so we have to get busy!

Trish - I have noticed TOM issues with regular LC but I haven't been on JUDD long enough to really notice any diff yet.

I am on DD today too and I want to try to fast til later in the day. I have had some coffee so far and will try to keep the water coming. I have been kind of lurking on the Tweaker thread and thinking about adding FF to my JUDD. Have you checked that out? It sounds like you are like me - just expermenting with what works best!

Good luck to you!

Question for everyone. Who is doing a TRUE rotation? No moderate days.

Has anyone changed from having moderate days to true rotation and noticed an acceleration of loss?

Thanks!

I was doing a true rotation and did great on loss, but I stalled out bc the end of the 2nd and 3rd week became too tempting to make the weekend TWO UDs in a row. So I'm actually doing opposite of what you're asking. I did a moderate day last weekend and I'm losing like crazy right now. I just dropped another lb and a half this morning. It almost seems too fast.

I am, Michelle. I never heard of the MD's until reading them on this thread. Are they in the book? I haven't read it, so I guess that explains that, If I do anything other than UD and DD's, it will be because of something in life that interferes. I'm not going to plan a MD though. Is there any reason to?

Leisa-

The reason I use a "medium" day is that I don't do a true alternation. I keep my DDs as M, W, Fri, and I don't want to have two consecutive UDs, so I try to have either Sat. or Sun. as a "medium" day--which I do by averaging the calories of my DD and UD. Sometimes, that medium day turns into an UD, but I keep on trying.

Pushing 40-

You mention that you're not counting on UDs, so perhaps you should try that. In his book, Dr. J mentions that when the system doesn't seem to be working, the culprit is almost always too many calories on UDs. I know that if I didn't count, calories would accumulate very fast, so you might try counting just to see if there's room to reduce calories on UDs.

Heyyyy Pushing 40.. I'm still relatively new at one month down so take this with a grain of salt. If by "cleaning up" the UDs you mean you've monitored your cals, then man.. I don't know what to suggest.

Well, the other day when I knew I had too much sodium and cals, I did a true fast and I've been dropping pretty quick again. Today's a DD, and I'm not fasting again. I just thought I'd do it when I make a mistake or if I plateau. So I guess you could try a true fast once?

Whatever you do, keep trying! I know you will feel "in control" again soon.

The reason I did a moderate day was it just seemed easier to me to have the same DD's every week. So, I made Sunday a moderate day, so that Monday would always be a DD. BUT, lately my MD turns into a UD, so I end up with 2 UD's every weekend. Since my loss has now slowed I have decided to try the true rotation just to see if it makes a difference.

I do not do the true rotation, Tomorrow if my weight is the same I was thinking of starting true rotations again to jump start everything.

Trish, I haven't heard of JUDDD messing with TOM but I know weight loss in general does. We have estrogen stored in our fat so if we release the fat we release the estrogen too.

Pushing40, I don't have any real advice but your name always makes me smile since I'm pulling 40 from the other side. I have found that any program or tweak I do stops working after awhile. That's what led me here.

I mostly do true rotations. I say mostly because I will throw in a MD if I have stuff going on. Last weekend we were on vacation and Sat was an UD and then we went out for breakfast on Sunday. I had a nice breakfast and then ate pretty light the rest of the day. I think I'll do the same this this weekend. We're going to a friend's for dinner Sat and then out for Mother's Day breakfast Sun. I'l just go very light the rest of the day.

I'm a little frustrated today. I didn't lose anything on my last DD, in fact I was up a little. Yesterday was an UD and I'm up even more. 5.5 lbs all told. I know they say I shouldn't weigh everyday, etc, etc but I always do so I'm prepared for the ups and downs. I'm worried because I've haven't come down that much after a DD (let alone any new loss). I know it seems premature to worry, and I have lost overall, but I have a record of new programs not working for long. I have to switch things up fairly regularly to keep the weight moving and I have wasted a lot of time in the past "giving things time" when they stopped working.

Anyway, I'm babbling. It really is too soon to fret. I'll just see what tomorrow brings.

Have a great day everyone!

Batlou... WOW DUDE. You're kicking ass. Congrats!

Pushin... Maintenence is HARD. At least thats what I hear (SO NOT EVEN CLOSE TO MAINTENENCE YET). There are more maintainers on the tweakers thread and they may have better input for you. I just want to say that its going to take TIME to figure out what will work for you to maintain. I second Leos suggestion of TRACKING on UD. I mean, you need to know what you're really and truly doing before you can change.

Gina, Sorry your random number generator is driving you nuts. Honestly this WOE produces more crazy weight bounces than I've ever experienced. I only count my downward trend from my lowest UD a.m. weight I see each week. Pretty consistently on this WOE I've seen a new low low at least one morning of each week (hope that makes sense). More than ANY OTHER WOE you've got to let the fluctuations go. Like you said, its too soon to worry.

UD REPORT FROM ME:
I DID IT!!! Just barely squeaked under 2000 cals like I said I would. This is the best UD total I've had in AGES. Like a MONTH!! I was rewarded with NO BOUNCE UP on the scale this morning which is super unusual for me morning after UD. Hoping for VFT weigh in Saturday morning:

Calories 1,993
Fat 143.7 1,272 64 %
Carbohydrate 53.0 209 10 %
Dietary Fiber 5.4
Protein 124.0 515 26 %
Alcohol 0.0 0 0 %

Hope everyone is having a good afternoon. My son's preschool had a "Mom's Tea" today to celebrate mothers day. It wasn't a tea. It was juice and water, and lots of yummy food. I had water and a couple small slices of watermelon (Gotta figure out how many calories that is!). I was going to do a complete fast today, but felt like I'd look dorky being the only mom sitting there with just water. I'm sorta feeling right now like I'd like to gnaw my arm off . Super hungry! I think I'll eat tonight for sure!

Sometimes I really hate Drs.

It's wonderful.... turn your pear into a sweet, tight peach! She actually says this in the video. Dunno, makes me laugh.

But yes, it does work. Great for "lifting" stuff.
