I think I got my JUDDD MOJO back !! It's 6 p.m., I'm still at work (so dinner will be over when I get home) and I'm still FASTING! This is the first time in weeks I've been able to get this far. (Having a coworker tell me my face looked thinner really helped me stick with it)

Dovelette - I try to have a set schedule of UD and DD like Kisha (in fact, my schedule looks like hers when I'm on track) and I do switch things around to accommodate special events. I have also done back to back DDs - not fasts, but just plain DDs - without any noticeable problem. To me, the back to back UDs are more of a problem. I find it's just that much harder to do a good DD following two or more UDs in a row. But that's me. lots of folks around here do pretty well with back to back UDs. (And MDs are hard for me to pull off unless I'm just screwing up a DD. )

Snaggle, best of luck on the weigh in tomorrow and enjoy your trip!

Well, I'm pretty conservative when it comes to tweaking, but I do like waiting until 4 or 5 PM on DD to give myself a substantial meal. Not much of a tweak... guess I'm kind of a prude.

Hi Everybody. Got a new mini laptop for Mother's day so I'm finally back on line.
As most of you know I swirched from Juddd to fast 5 3 weeks ago to see if it would stabilise my blood sugars and get rid of some nasty symptoms I was having.
The good news is my symptoms are improving. The bad news is I'm up 6 pounds in 3 weeks. My appetite was crazy the first two weeks of fast 5 and I ate like everyday was an UD -grrr. At least my clothes are still fitting so far.

That said fast 5 is easy for me. I have coffee in the morning and don't get hungry until 5pm. I make dinner at 5 and eat only between 5:30-8:30 each night. I do it daily with no free days. Still over on calories without the DD to balance out my huge appetite but getting a little better. I'm going to need to throw something else in the mix. I already do <20 carbs daily but may need to go meat and egg for a few days or every other day. Don't know.

Da*n I wish Juddd didn't send my pancreas into a hissy fit! I did much better psychologically with Juddd and my weight was stable for 5 months. Now even though I eat every day I feel deprived and have to watch cals daily and try to keep at 1500 daily(which so far I haven't been able to do). I'm tired of focusing on diet all the time and here comes summer and tons of picnics, barbeque's,ect Sorry for the pity party. I'll come back when I get it figured out and have some sucessful tweaks to share.

Emandm - your end of the school year sounds busy, but fun! And you're doing great in maintenance!

Wallaby - glad to hear you are back on track. And Caramel - wow you just keep on trucking!

Kisha have fun at the young people's conference. Sounds great.

MBB - have you dusted all the silk flowers today? Come back soon.

Ok. I'm going to explore this new little gadget and see what it can do! First thing is to download ****** and get my act together.

Hello Tweakers, I just posted this on the regular JUDDDD thread and thought you guys might find it useful here too.

I just wanted to pop in for a minute and add something I just read in the book. I know there has been a lot of talk about "Medium Days" and how this is a tweak and not part of JUDDDD and while Dr. J does not address MD formally when explaining the diet he does talk of an "in-between" day in the question and answer part of the book on page 243. When talking about true alternation he explains how to have an UD on Saturday and "another strategy would be to make Sunday and "in-between" day, meaning that you still restrict to some extent but eat more than you would on a regular down day." Just thought I would share for those who felt this was an unalloyed tweak. It does not appear to be a tweak at all.

Thanks, pushing.
Yeah, my thought is that besides the activation of the sirt1, which the dd's do, the main concept of this woe is that your overall average caloric intake is down, so that if you do a day to fit the average between a ud and a dd, you should be okay.
I know for me that I would rather give up everything one day in order to be able to have what I want the next. This woe really helps me deal with the "feeling deprived" issue.
Plus, something about making it thru a down day seems to really give me a sense of control over my appetite, so I really am not doing anything crazy on my ud's.

I'm not an expert on Fast Five but KNOW that I have read before that it is typical for it to take a few weeks to adjust to this WOE and that weight gain is often experienced. Give yourself some time.

SS - I am sorry you are up a few pounds but I bet they melt off very quickly. I totally agree with Kisha, and your body will adjust soon as will your brain. A lot of it is mental, as you are used to high cal UD's so now anything less feels like deprivation. Focus on the fact that your levels are good and you are healthy, the pounds will drop. I bet you are the only one who notices anyway, that is always the way for me!

JGW - Hi back!

Snaggle - that is totally how I view JUDDD now. I rarely think about the SIRT1, it's more about my overall weekly calories being lower than they were when I wasn't JUDDDING. So now when I go over my allotted cals (either on a DD or an UD) I remind myself of that instead of going into a tizzy and "blowing" my day by really overeating. 200 extra calories in a week will not make me gain a pound!

Pushing 40 - I have always thought in between or MD's were great ideas, unfortunately I was never able to do one!

UD for me and I have had fruit, coffee (always), two slices of pizza and a mini kitkat bar. Tonight will be my fake tuna sandwhich (made with chickpeas), some raw veggies and maybe some pretzels for a snack. We have a long weekend coming up (Victoria Day is on Monday in Canada) and I am so glad I have my Fri/Sat as UD's to enjoy the bbq's we are attending. We were also invited to one on Sunday, but that is my DD and I told DH that this woe works too well for me, I didn't want to be around food on a DD to potentially blow it, so we are staying home instead. It's not a bbq of close friends anyway, so I don't feel I am sacrificing much to stay on plan!

Hi to e/e!

Morning... DD AWF for me today.
No losses this week so far... rate of loss has slowed SIGNIFICANTLY since I went to DD UD DD UD DD UD MD schedule. I'm going back to true rotation for a week it seems to work better for me.

Wow, we are quiet! Today is UD for me and weigh day. Holding steady at 115. I checked my log and it's been 7 weeks since I increased my calories and have been eating 800 on DD. So I think I am officially in maintenance at higher calories! lol Today will be a high UD as I am having chocolate almonds as a treat tonight while DH and I enjoy a movie.

Ilpirata - I found I did best on true rotation too. You know yourself very well, so I'm sure you will see a loss soon.

jgw - I'm having a great Friday and it's a long weekend (off Monday)! woo hoo! How about you?

Caramel - I still don't look forward to DD's. I envy those who do! I shouldn't complain as I can eat quite a bit with the increased cals, but I still love my UD's the best!

Not sure what I'm doing, but it's working

Sorry guys, long time no post.

As some may recall, I was doing great on JUDDD for a long time. Then I noticed my weight creeping back up a few pounds. So I switched to Fast-Five and really liked it, and was able to drop back into my lower weight range after a week or so of gaining on it at first. Well now I'm back to JUDDD this week and back down to my lowest weight range. Not sure if that makes sense, basically it seems doing a few weeks of fast-five broke my JUDDD stall. BUT, I can't tell for sure because my exercise routine has changed significantly at the same time.

Really, for me, it's a fine line between the two programs because the only time I care much about eating before dinner time is on the weekends with my family. Also I wasn't on Fast-Five long enough to know whether the lack of hunger was because of residual SIRT1 I had built-up from JUDDDING or whether I could eat that way long term. I haven't been doing any calorie counting, so who knows what's really going on.

But I'm back to JUDDD for now because I like it better overall, and I enjoy the mental ease and $$ savings of down days. Also I enjoy having a WF mixed in there once a week. If I can maintain this lowest weight range with JUDDD I'll be happy. I'm not concerned too much with more weight loss right now (ask me again in 3 days, that position may have switched, hahaha).

I feel like I'm close to having all the combination of eating plans worked into an equation, like an "if then" sort of thing. Like IF Monday was a DD, THEN Tuesday can be either UP or Fast-Five. If Tuesday was Fast-Five-THEN Wednesday is.....

I'll keep you posted!

Thinking aloud -

I think I need to devise a six or eight week plan for myself, that switches between the two plans to keep my body from figuring it out. Sort of the way Crack the Fat Loss Code worked, but using JUDDD and Fast-Five. Hmmm, I like this idea. Definitely going to work on that!!

Hi everyone. Don't want to talk about diet (I'm still gaining on Fast 5 and feeling defeated).

But I have great news to share. Our new little grandbaby, Jessica, arrived at 5AM this morning. We were at the hospital all night and Mom and baby are fine. She's beautiful 5'15oz and a tiny little joy to treasure. (Wow were we sleepy at work today!)

So I have to stay healthy and be around in 25 years for her wedding.

This week I'm reading the "Warrior Diet". Some interesting ideas and an entertaining read similar to Paleo but incorporating IF as well. I'm searching for something to motivate me and give me some enthusiasm for my new way of eating.

Have a great weekend everybody.

Thanks Retro, jgw, and Emandm. We visited the hospital again today and Jessica is great - soft, snuggly, and that lovely newborn peace and scent. I love babies! They should be released tomorrow.

I feel revived and happy. I'm planning some major tweaks for the next few weeks. Sort of a trial elimination diet. This week dairy is going. We'll see if that helps the belly bloat! Next all sweeteners (yes even stevia). Got to get rid of this need for the taste of sweet. I think it drives insulin release and sets off a spiral of low BGL/hunger/overeating. Sweet and dairy are my two biggest craves so I'll do dairy this week and add in sweet next week. I almost hope it doesn't work so I can add them back in but I'm determined to give it a month and see. And here's my public announcement so failure is not an option. Heck maybe I'll come to like black coffee.

Meanwhile fast 5 remains very easy after Juddd and I only need a 2-3 hour window so I hope any health benefits start to kick in (and some appetite suppression would be nice too - I'm eating huge quantities of food!) Going back to shirataki noodles to fill the belly for zero cals but will continue to keep fat levels high.

OK. Too chatty but that's the plan. I'll keep you posted!

DD for me today, but today will be my last for a little while. I am going to go off BCP and want to get a TRUE sense of whether or not it makes a difference, by doing what I lost on before.... well sort of... Stubborn Fat Fix is basically OWL and clean eating. I will come back in a couple of weeks if I gain on it despite going off the pill. Good luck to you all!

Good luck!

I have heard it takes awhile for the hormones to get out of your system, so don't be too disappointed if it doesn't happen overnight (I know that's how I like things to happen).

Hi everyone.....just stopping in to say hello!
No internet for a while, and just sort of fell outta the loop!
Hope all is well and congrats Shuns on Jessica!!!! Awww!!!!!

I am still maintaining....between 109-112.....and still adore this plan.
I did drop the Fast 5 though........was getting too difficult for me and while I still don't eat before noon, I start grabbing a handful here and there around 1pm or so.

Anyways, just dropping in to say hello and you all are doing great!!!!

So good to hear from you Bengal. Glad you are maintaining well. Isn't Juddd great! And thanks for the good wishes on Jessica - I'm still on cloud 9. She's wonderful!

I think all of us tweakers are just following our plans and don't have much to report on diet. I'm still struggling a bit to find my level with fast5 but right now it's not my top priority. I seem to be maintaining at 114-118 - up 6 pounds from my usual weight, but as long as my clothes still fit I'll stick with Fast5.

Today is day 2 of my no dairy experiment. I'm missing it and craving but holding strong so far. Black coffee is the pitts.

Yes, JUDDD has been very liberating for me!!!
I am still enjoying the FREEDOM FROM 'What should I eat?'....lol

I found that i am prefering more meat/high fat days on my UD's than previously (i only had 1/week before)....and DD's are still pretty healthy LF carbs. Good luck on the dairy.....I have cut down on my yogurt, but still struggle with my beloved full fat sour cream addiction, LOL.

Congrats on making it 2 days with the no dairy!!! That is great and inspiring!!!!

Have a nice evening everyone!!!

Hi tweakers. I hope everyone is having a great day.
I am back from my 5 day (all UP) trip. As I planned, I pretty much ate and drank what I wanted. But YOWZA, my theory of not having as big of a bounceback did
NOT work. I am up 5.5 lbs. Yikes. I had weighed in at 162.5 the morning we left and
am 168 this a.m. and that is after doing a down day yesterday since we got back late monday night. I sure hope I can drop the 5 lbs in a week, or I will be very disappointed.
I was really hoping I would only have a couple of pound gain, but seem to have gained every bit as much as if I had done the same thing on atkins. Hmmmmmmmmmm.
Back on the JUDDD wagon.
