WTG getting two DD under your belt. I'm glad the scale rewarded you. I DEFINATELY weigh almost every single day (unless I can totally tell I'm retaining water) and at this point... 18 months into diligently following my WOE I just don't let the bounce ups affect me anymore. Frankly, I'm used to them so they don't get me down anymore. Plus I've experienced two 3+ month long stalls and I just know I'll never quit no matter what the stupid scale is doing. Random F-ing Number Generator.

Maryposa
Glad you're feeling better today! We don't succeed on this WOE every single day. At least I don't... but cumulatively it is working. Hang in there.

My Schedule is getting messed with. Annoying

So I'm going to a business lunch next Tuesday - great, UD for me no problem.
Now they've scheduled another one for Monday. Which is my set in stone DD and also a day I ALWAYS liquid fast on. So. Annoyed. I am not coming up with a tweak that will work. I guess I'll just order a salad no dressing on Monday and then pretend to eat it.

UGH!

Kamicryze;

I saw your video on the other JUDD thread. I mentioned we used to say, "Take time to stop and smell the roses." I can appreciate (oldie that I am) that she is saying the same thing, only in a different way. For someone as young as she is to know this simple truth is fantastic. I'm sure she'll have a more enjoyable life with her philosophy. I'm glad she put that message out there. I'll have to remember that song during my DD's!

Maryposa:

I hope DD's get easier. We're all so different. Some people get hungry early in the day; and others like me - and Kamicryze get hungry around 4PM. JUDD truly is an individual path. For some, JUDD doesn't work. "If it doesn't fit, don't wear it." That doesn't mean it's a failed diet plan. It just means it's one that doesn't fit. Great success to you as you experiment. Like the song said that kamicryze posted: "It's not about how fast we get there!" Have a great weekend.

Well yesterday was my lowest DD yet. I basically drank a ton of water and then at 6 pm had some soup. I also had my coffee in the morning. Overall my total calories were 160. This morning my weight is 311.5 which is the same as last week but I am pleased with that since I overate alot this week. This week I will be focussing on moderating my Up days.

Congrats Janice! You are doing so well!

I wanted to check in .... So, yesterday and today were around 700 calories. Not sure if that would qualify as a DD? Or maybe it should called a low MD? I actually wasn't trying to be that low today, but I was super busy, it just kind of happened. This is what I used to do when I was younger, I'd forget I needed to eat, lol. It seems a little strange to me that I did this today, because it has been a long time since I've forgotten to eat a meal or snack. Usually I am looking forward to the next meal or snack, I'd spend too much time thinking about it. I believe Judddd is definitely helping me with these issues.

UD for me today. It was supposed to be a DD, but I wanted to enjoy this day with my family. My friend is going to combine the Mediteranian Diet and JUDD. She said the M. diet recommends red wine and she doesn't drink so she couldn't do that. I told her the SIRT1 gene activated during JUDD will produce resveratrol. Resveratrol is the agent in red wine - so she won't miss out on that benefit by combining both diets. Have a great week everyone. I am going to be busy next week with work and get-togethers and won't be posting during the week.

Hey again everyone.

I was soooo worried about making yesterday a DD bc we usually eat out. I spent most of the day in bed because of a messed up Friday night. I'll spare you all. So it was easy not to eat until then. I ate a sandwich for lunch. The fam went out but a few of us weren't hungry, so I didn't stick out like a sore thumb when I didn't eat. I had a successful DD! 3rd in a row and a Saturday to boot!

Anyway, UD for me, which is perfect today. The fam is having Easter dinner, but I'll still need to be careful. I've been checking the scale every other morning, so today another lb down. I think it's starting to slow to a normal pace, so I'm ready for that.

I'm really amazed how easy it is to do one day of dieting every other day. I don't even feel like I'm trying!!! And on UDs, I still don't care about eating all the time. I feel in CONTROL. I think I said that before.

Well have a Happy Easter everyone!!

Hi JUDDers!

I utilized JUDD to help me lose 12 pounds (after being stuck for 4 months at the same weight). But I stopped doing JUDD 2 weeks ago and I've gained back 4 pounds.

So I'm starting fresh and I'm joining you guys for JUDD again. I love that it helps control my apetite - especially on the UDs.

Good luck everyone!

i would like to join May I? I tried ZC and it lead to craving and serious bathroom issues that lead to a colon pain that lead me off the ZC. I don't have time for 'wait and see'...I want this now. I am contemplating diet clinics that give out scripts for diet pills ....I KNOW i can do shakes on alternate days although i am not a great big fan of soy at all....i have thryoid problems...but I can do it for two weeks until I get a feel for cal counting. I have not counted cals for YEARS...I treated atkins like a free day to the all meat and cheese buffet of life and when i quit smoking, i ate ALOT of food...i am willing to go through a few days of hunger to get back on track.
May I join?

Redeemed: Does the book say that there is a natural resveratrol boost with the diet? I must have skimmed by that. () If so, why does Dr. Johnson sell his own Resveratrol supplement on the JUDDD site?

Hi Aim, welcome to JUDDD.

There are plenty of whey-based protein shakes out there so please don't compromise your already damaged thyroid with a soy-based shake. Just be sure to pick a whey-based shake that is low carb -- certain shakes designed for body-builders are actually carb-boosters, so you just need to read the labels carefully to get the one that's right for a low-carb plan. Whey shakes are available here at Netrition or at your local Vitamin Shoppe, GNC, or natural/whole foods store.

Best of luck on JUDDD!

Retro: Regarding Resveratrol

Retro: It was my understanding from reading the book that calorie restriction releases resveratrol in the body. Resveratrol activates the SIRT1 gene that speeds up metabolism. I gave the book to my friend. She read it and I think she gave it to her sister. But I'll try to get one of them to look this up. Unless, anyone else has the book and can look this up. It may also be on the website. I'm pretty busy this week, but will try to get back to you on this. I think Dr. Johnson sells supplements of Resveratrol to give the diet an extra boost. I did buy a bottle, but after researching the information on resveratrol supplementation I realize I should have waited. There is not enough research available to determine just how much resveratrol in pill form is effective. No one knows yet the exact dose of resveratrol in pill form to activate SIRT1 in the human body.

Back from New Orleans!

I was there from Thurs. through Easter Sunday, and this is the first time since I started JUDDD in late December than I haven't alternated regularly. Four UDs in a row--and probably more calories than most of my UDs. I'm back to a DD this morning, but I dare not step on the scale until I have at least one DD completed.

However, here's the good news. Faced with all that magnificent food, I had NO desire to overeat, but I did not fanatically deprive myself either. I had one beignet (New Orleans doughnut), but it was all I had that breakfast. I ate very heathily for the most part because NO has such great fish--which I love--and opted for dessert only once. We were at Brennan's, the restaurant that invented Bananas Foster, and it's usually prepared for the table. However, I only ate 2-3 bites and then passed the rest to my niece. That was enough to enjoy it, I discovered.

I DO think this is a result of JUDDD. As Kisha has posted recently, this WOE has given me so much knowledge about myself and my food issues. In the past, faced with such abundant, marvelous food and on a visit like this, I would be helpless, and inclined to eat as much as I possibly could. This time, I just thought, "What would I LIKE to have?" And my second question, "Would it be good for me?" But I never thought that I was depriving myself, and I actually enjoyed my food--although I was never "full," which is a triumph for me. That is, I wasn't hungry, but I avoided that stuffed feeling that comes from overindulgence.

Tomorrow I'll let you know what the damange was in terms of gain (which I expect, as I gain on 'normal' calories for most people). But I'm already back on JUDDD, and I'm confident that I can lose any "vacation weight" on this plan.

My main upset is that I have been Liquid fasting on Mondays for a couple of months now. I really like doing the liquid fasts on three weekdays - ESPECIALLY MONDAY. I'll just have to grin and bear it. I swear I'm just going to pretend eat.

Hi SpaceCowgirl! Good to see you back again (we missed you)

And welcome AIM. Alot of us with hypO and otherwise compromised metabolisms have found our answers here. Like Retro said you don't have to do soy to do shakes.

New LOW and heinous two UD weekend

WELL,

I hit a new low low on the scale Saturday Morning (my official weigh in day) 190.8... this blew my one LB per week goal out of the water by 1.2 LBS!

Yay. The bad news is I then proceeded to turn my weekend into two major UDs with WAY MORE carbs than I ever eat. I'm talking TWO cupcakes you guys. Not quite sure what happened there I sort of lost it a little bit.

Like Leo I'm staying off the scale. Hey, its not my official weigh in day and I'm really under no obligation to step on THE RANDOM NUMBER GENERATOR until Saturday right? I'm getting right back on track with an uber low DD (liquid fast) today and hoping that three solid DDs this week will at least even me out on the scale Saturday.

As long as I get back on track I'm not going to beat myself up about what happened. It happened. Its over. MOVING ON.

I am trying my 1st liquid fast today. Is an egg cream considered a liquid? I ate waaaayyy too much this weekend, so I know a great downday will get me back on track.
