Thanks for the video Redeemed.

I have to say, it was a little frustrating to watch because, as snaggle pointed out, the woman was not a good example of the diet. Yes, she looks good, but the general public will not give this diet a second thought with how low her down days where. And Dr. Johnson did not represent himself and the diet very well either. I wonder if he knew he was going to be debating/defending his diet?

Checking back in I started Judd on Monday

Monday -aprox 700 cal
Tues- 2350 cal
Wed - 530cal
Today - We shall see will shoot for 2400

So far I'm doing well on this. I thought I would be ravenously hungry on my dd's. I haven't been so far but the mental hurdle is the strongest. And then when I get to my upday I don't feel that hungry. I checked my scale today usually Wednesday is my weekly weigh in. I started back to low carbing almost 3 weeks ago (strict) and I haven't even lost 1 pound yet. So I'm going to stick with JUDD for a few weeks to see if I can get the scale to move. I can gain 5lbs in a week with no problem but losing it takes me forever. I just really want to get down to the 260's by summer so I can fit into my summer clothes.

Maybe you should raise your calories a little on your DDs. Then lower them when you feel ready(?). Maybe someone else will chime in here with other advice.

Maybe I shouldn't have posted that interview. I didn't want to bring anyone down. Hopefully, it was a good learning experience for Dr. Johnson. Well, anyway, maybe this song will be a blessing to everyone:

Hang in there Rhonda! I also agree that JUDD will work for you to achieve your goal. I also totally agree with what you say about DD.

The amount of insight I have gained regarding food, eating, hunger, emotions, habits etc. since starting JUDD is just staggering. I've learned more about myself and my relationship with food since doing JUDD than I think I have in the rest of my whole life!

GREAT DD YESTERDAY

Succesful liquid fast yesterday:

Calories 236
Fat 20.9 183 78 %
Carbohydrate 7.8 30 13 %
Dietary Fiber 0.0
Protein 5.4 23 10 %
Alcohol 0.0 0 0 %

My weight just barely inched down this morning - I was hoping for a bit more but don't officially weigh in until Saturday AM. Going for a good solid UD today. Already have my food planned and logged should come in around 1800 cals.

I am going to try one more time (tomorrow) to do 500 cals / LC protein shakes.

My backup plans are:

A. (fitting in more on the tweakers thread) to do a fat fast every other day instead, which I tolerate quite well despite also being a liquid diet for me (I just use HWC in coffee or tea on a fat fast); OR

B. start eating 500 calories of LC solid foods like hard boiled eggs, slices of roast beef, etc.

Either option would suck in the short run, because I just bought a BUNCH of LC shakes. I suppose I can do coffee with almond breeze for B-fast, a protein shake mid-morning, and something "solid" mid afternoon, but if I am too ravenous by mid-afternoon, I might overeat.

snaggle.. I LOVE the blueberry bagel with blueberry cream cheese. Sorry everybody! Don't read! I too, could eat one every day. It's nice to have someone on the same DD as me. Looks like my DDs are most ppls UDs. And as far as saving up for the one meal, I did that my first DD with a pot roast. I had a few baby carrots throughout the day before dinner, but that was it. It was totally worth waiting for dinner. Also, it allows me to eat with my husband, who has issues about us not eating the same dinnner at the same time. When I was LCing, he did his best, but he really likes us eating together. And why wouldn't he? Dinner with your fam is nice!

jgw.. I just took your advice. It'll be breakfast tomorrow. Also, someone only left a tbsp of cc in the container, so no prob overdoing it. AND the bagels are mini and whole wheat. I didn't know that. So now I feel even better. Oh yeah.. I forgot. Someone gave me a blueberry muffin on my first DD. I kept it for breakfast on my UD. Nice trend.

Anyone get the feeling I like blueberry stuff? BECAUSE I DO!!! OMG.

Also, thanks for the video. I didn't like how rushed it was. I also didn't like the flacid pros and the snarky cons. I also agree they shouldn't have used that girl. She definitely didn't help the argument. The doc was pretty dull, too. LOL. But he did stand his ground and I liked that. And I do think he made a good point about controlled studies.

Today is suppose to be an up day for me although I am going to keep it moderate because yesterday with my DD falling on my daughters B-day I probably took in about 900 calories.

Here is my problem I am getting headaches on DD's. Does anyone have any advice on how to get around that? Tylenol does not even shake them and it is bumming me out.

I only get headaches when I'm lacking caffeine... do you intake less caffeine on DD?
Are you drinking plenty of fluids?

today is dd for me and I to get headaches. I have one right now. I think it has to do with caffine but not sure. I drink the same on either ud, or dd.

I got headaches on DDs for about a week, maybe two. Then they went away. I didn't change anything, but I guess my body adjusted and I haven't had a headache since. When my head was throbbing, I took a motrin, sometimes two. Or I took a nap if DH was home. Not sure what else would work to help. Maybe some caffeine might dull it a bit.

ETA - I don't drink caffeine, only decaf. So my headaches were definitely from the new diet.

Happy Friday!!

Had a good UD yesterday. Ate a lot of whole foods, nothing junky.

We're taking my daughter and niece out for brunch, so today may be a MD or UD depending on what I can get at the restaurant. Though I may be skipping breakfast. I am not hungry at all. I'll make tomorrow my DD. Which may be hard because I am preparing a bunch of food for our Easter dinner on Sunday. I hope I don't start snacking!

Later today I'll be making homemade peanut butter & chocolate egg candies for my daughter for Easter. No high fructose crappola! It should be fun.

Good Friday!

Hello everyone, I'm checking in early because I may be pretty busy today.
Today is a DD for me so I'm drinking a little coffee this morning and will try to hold out until this evening to eat.
My mom will be here to spend the weekend with me and the family.
Have a great day.

Hi everyone, I am so glad to hear of everyone's successes! We have been struggling with our UD lately. We seem to do alot of damage at night by eating crap. DD are easy and after overeating on an UD I really like the feeling of "lightness" on a DD. I haven't been monitoring UD calories but I am going to start.
Today I may do a water fast, flush some of this salt out of my system! We shall see how the day unfolds, definately a DD though.

Hey Girl! Dr. Johnsons does point out that if one is having trouble losing it is usually the UD that is the culprit! I struggle with UD also... keeping it low carb and always TRYING to keep it under 2000 calories. For me ****** is KEY. If I didn't monitor with that I bet I'd be eating 3000 cals on some UD which would make it impossible for me to lose. I think tracking is an EXCELLENT idea for you.

Hey guys. Finished my second DD yesterday. I noticed I'm terribly hungry around 4PM, so I'll know what to expect tomorrow and be prepared. I fought the urge to weigh yesterday. It's become a daily habit for me. I didn't resist this morning though. I was down another 2 lbs. Weeeee!

You know, I just don't wanna weigh every day because if it's not what I expect or want to see, I get easily discouraged. Luckily, the scale was good to me today. I wish I could put the scale away for a week at a time but hubby uses it every day, too. Oh well, one battle at a time. I can do it. I didn't know if I could even do the first DD, so I'm glad I've got 2 under my belt. Today I'm at home, so my UD will be a little challenging, but I'm not worried. I spent awhile getting good at calorie counting before this.

A little terrified of tomorrow. Hubby likes to go out to eat on Saturdays.. He doesn't exactly know I'm Judddding, just watching my cals. He's seen me fail enough times that all I get is a lecture when I tell him now. I wanna prove it first, then tell him. I wonder if I can make this weekend's eat-out day Sunday, then Saturday will fall in the right place NEXT week. I have heard suggestions of MDs, but I'd really like to try the original method first. Hmmm.. but I don't wanna set myself up for failure either.

Well anyway! Happy Friday to you guys! I know it's a DD for alot of you, so hang tight!

I am attempting down day again today... so far had almond breeze / coffee and an atkins shake (chocolate royale). Going to the gym in a bit. I feel better today than I did the day before last, I was so hungry! So... so far so good. Will do my best to complete this DD. Yesterday I stayed VLC, not sure how many cals.
