Hi everyone,

This is definately a woosh week for me! I hit 114.8 today. Who knew eating more calories would be so great! I wish you all a speedy trip to goal. It's fun being in maintain lane!

Maryposa reminds me of someone too, it will come to me. I hadn't thought of Christina Ricci, but I can see it.

Wallaby - your results are amazing! What a nice surprise! KUTGW! I don't do shakes either, but it's mostly because I would rather eat my cals than drink them. That is probably why I never came close to completing a WF or an AWF!

Daisey - I won't be online this weekend. Please do not run off and join the circus. MBB would have our heads if we let that happen! I will be checking in on you Monday morning!

MikeA - is that you in your avatar pic? If so, it doesn't look like you have much to lose. How far away are you from goal?

Snaggle and Michelle - congrats on the new lows! Amazing. Isn't JUDDD great?

Hi to e/e. I will be offline all weekend (our internet is down at home) but I wish you all great success and have a good weekend!

Does 2 lbs count as a whoosh?? If so, I had my first one today. Down to 163.5 after a great energetic, 400 calorie down day. Yipee.
I assume I will be up some tomorrow since we are going to a party tonight and will have carbs, drinks and god knows what else. As long as I can get back to 164 by Tuesday official weigh-in, I will be thrilled because that would be 3 lbs in one week.
Don't want to count my chickens yet, however.
Wearin' my skinny pants tonight. (still fat, but skinny for me!)

Have a great weekend everyone.

Morning tweakers. It's SO gorgeous here today, hope to get outside and move around. But first I need to tackle my filthy house and avoid eating since I'm attempting an AWF today. (VERY hard on a Saturday - for me anyway.)

The end of the week didn't turn out that great. I kept calories at a pretty reasonable level and haven't gained anything (despite the 2 Krispy Kremes and potato chips), but I think I had 3 UDs in a row. THIS is what I love most about JUDDD. Even when I'm not strictly paying attention to it, I don;t lose a lot of ground. It's so unlike Atkins when falling off the wagon for a minute spelled disaster - and I had to start all over again (with less optimal results.)

I love all your gorgeous pics and celebrity look-a-likes. Maybe I'll change my avatar to celeb I get the remarks about (Linda Rondstadt at her heaviest! LOL)

Saturday weigh in day. Still maintaining well in my range. Using Juddd (now up to 800 cals on DD!) MWF, and fast five on UD's(both with <20 carbs). I've upped my fats and cut proteins this week to try to control BGL's but for weight management and maintenance Juddd works great and I really can increase cals gradually and still maintain HURRAY!

I'm a little concerned that my BGL's swing up and down with UD/DD. Not sure how healthy this is. I know Dr J doesn't recommend his diet for diabetics who take meds, and I fear the swinging BGL's may not be good for those trying for diet controlled diabetes. Can't find much research on alternate day dieting and diabetes.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Shunsweets - yay! That is great news. I was amazed to find out I could eat up to 800 cals on a DD and still maintain my goal range. Amazed. I don't know enough about BGL to give you any advice. I guess because ADF is fairly new there is not a lot of research on that concerning diabetes. Keep checking your levels. Is there someone at your work you could ask?

Wallaby - I love donuts, they are my favourite treat, but I never liked Krispy Kremes. Go figure! I totally agree about JUDDD being easy to get back "on." It really doesn't feel like a diet to me, so I never get that "might as well eat everything in sight and start again tomorrow" mentality. It is gorgeous here today too. Going to get up to 27 Celsius! Woo hoo!

I should be back online at home this week (hopefully today).

UD for me and so far I have had coffee after my morning run. Not hungry yet, but I will be!

HI everyone--just popping in before I go back to the salt mine.

Shunsweets, there is a brilliant woman called BloodSugar 101 who hangs out on the diabetic forum, the Atkins '72 forum, and sometimes in appropriate threads on the ML as well. You need to go hunt her up--she has some very interesting things to say about her own experience with Atkins '72 (basically the WOE you are doing, it sounds like) She is an amazingly thoughtful, helpful source of ACCURATE information regarding many aspects if diabetes--partly from extended research and partly from her own personal experience. I think she is one of the most impressive members of LCF--if not THE most impressive. (Well actually Brian Cohen comes mighty close)

I just lost two pounds and .3 this week--and am now .2 pound lower than I have been for the past two years (at 168.2 today.) I think it is from eating VLC and working my A$$ off in my friend's shop while she recovers from foot surgery, and using a modified version of JUDDD.

Certainly I am losing fat--am down another size. Boy, I really envy Kisha her nice small waist though!

PLEASE GIVE YOUR OPINIONS ABOUT THE FOLLOWING:

SOMETHING FOR ALL OF YOU TO THINK ABOUT:

When I started the first Tweakers thread the middle of January, it was because so many of us were doing really offbeat things with our WOE as well and were far out of the "mainstream of JUDDD." In fact, so far out that some of the members who had joined that thread after I took it over became very uncomfortable with our water fasts and Fast Five additions and other Tweaks..

I will be in Denver for the first 10 days of June so wallaby has agreed to start the new June Tweakers thread.

But meantime here is a question for all of you to mull over:

In view of so many of us mainly following JUDDD, including those new Tweakers who are active members of the JUDDD thread itself: IS THERE REALLY A NEED FOR A TWEAKERS THREAD IN THE FUTURE or wouldnt it just be easier to join the main thread where we all started out and have all the messages in one central place.

Please weigh in on this and decide what you want to do. I am beginning to question the need for a separate thread...which only serves to clutter up the forum unless it meets someone's special needs.

I hope you both get it all worked out soon and can return to posting regularly!

Oh gosh, I gotta go or I will be late to open the shop. TTYL!

Maizen, it's clear that you are our ringleader and you kept our little group motivated to be here. What if we jumped back into the mainstream JUDDD (where there's a whole lotta tweakin' goin' on anyway) until your return - or until we find it necessary to jump ship again?

Maizenblue-- I will be glad to be the first to weigh in here on your proposal.
When I first discovered JUDDD, I was also just discovering Fast five and other forms
of IF. Had also been following the CFLC and EFTG threads for a while too.
What attracted me to this WOE was the SUCCESSES! and enthusiasm of those doing it.
I formulated my own custom plan, in part, inspired by the tweakers, and also because I felt the combination of various theories could work together to fit my lifestyle.
We are now getting new folks left and right and it gets confusing going back and forth between the threads.
SO.........................Perhaps Wallaby should consider that this question should be posed to the JUDDD (non tweaker) thread: Do you all care if we tweakees just all hang out with your thread and combine it with the tweaker thread, or would you rather keep it for those doing straight up JUDDD?

The other thing that I will mention that already adds variety to both threads is that some do low carb and some don't. I find that perspective interesting, and informative.

Sally - I was thinking this the other day. I think it should be all 1 thread. That is just my opinion.

Well I was planning on mostly participating here, because I am still figuring things out and I go through fluctuations with how I feel so I was thinking of doing sort of an "intuitive eating" version of JUDDD ... there are days that are supposed to be down days where I just know first thing in the morning I need food (maybe because I work out that need varies more than if I were not) but for instance, today, I felt like I would be fine if I do a DD, so I am. If tomorrow I feel the same I might do a moderate day. If I feel really hungry, I will do an UD.

I dunno... I guess if I am the only one, I can just follow the JUDDD thread though. But, you never know I might change it up again, for instance I still follow the ZC threads just to see how everyone is doing but I can't really post much there anymore about what I am doing because it's different from what they are doing.

I am at a point where I am really trying to figure out what my next plan of attack is because I wasn't losing with other means I used in the past. That is why I thought the tweaker thread would be a good place for me, because if I change it up again (to fat fasts instead of a traditional down day, or something like that) I don't have to find yet another thread that focuses on that. I dunno.

For those who do liquid only DDs I posted on the other thread about 100 calorie, 25g "protein shots" which I found at costco. They taste ok. All calories come from protein. I thought they were berry flavor but I looked again and they are fruit punch. I am going to drink 4 or 5 of them today.

MBB - I don't like when threads get too big. Too many people makes it hard for me to get to "know" everyone. So I am ok with keeping a separate thread. It's not that I don't want to merge with the original, as I lurk there and sometimes post, but if you check it out there are a ton of people over there. Just my two cents though!

Excellent point Snaggle - and your question brought up (for me) the whole reason we moved over here in the first place. You're right - it really would be their decision if we opted to re-join them.

I'm more than happy to start the May thread and see how it goes.
