I came in around 2250 cals. yesterday. about 250 below my limit. Over 1/3 was from things like mayo, salad dressing, salad add-ons etc. These little things really add up if you dont track them.

I don't like most low fat stuff either but I have been trying to use lowER fat foods for my DD. I like to eat a large dinner so I try and get the most bang for my buck so to speak

Too bad I have like 4 jars of regular Hellmanns in the cupboard right now. It's been on sale for 2.48 and everytime I went to the store I'd buy one

I would do that but for some odd reason only the regular hellmanns is on sale. The low fat and other kinds are still full price

I guess when I eat something with mayo i will have something lower calorie to go along with it. I usually only eat twice a day so it shouldn't be a problem.

Well, I know that low fat means you can eat more volumewise, and I did try low fat mayo when I first started weight watchers + low carb... but I just have an issue with the fact that lowering the fat in a product which is normally high fat usually means the addition of such evil things as HFCS. The low fat mayo actually doesn't seem that bad, if you look at it as 1 gram of sugar instead of 1/2 a gram... but if you look at it another way, it has TWICE as much sugar.
if I am making sense but that's just the way I think of it.

Hey Mike. I stick with the full fat mayo and dairy and just use a little less on DD. On UD I eat all the fats I can get! I prefer not to get the extra carbs and additives in the low fat stuff.

ya, I meant to say that too, I would rather use 1/2 the amount for 1/2 the calories and stick to the "original" good point.

I wonder if making your own mayo would be better for you? Maybe not alot less calories or fat but at least you have control over everything that goes into making it. I seen recipes for making it yourself.

I'm only doing the shakes on DD's for the first 2 weeks. After I'm done I'd most likely skip any high calorie foods on my DD's and go with only low calorie foods without any dairy type products or cheese.

Hi Tang44,

A coupla things to get you started 1) if you go back to the beginning of this April thread, you'll find an introduction. And I think if you can dig up the March thread there is a fairly lengthy intro to this WOE and some of the more "common tweaks" you'll find here (compliments of our fearless thread leader, Maizenbluebabe ).

2) The website of Dr. Johnson The UpDayDownDay Diet™ and eResveratrol – Dr. James Johnson – SIRT1 Gene Activation (links don't work but you can google this if you need.) is a must read. If you click on About the Diet you;ll get a nice overview - and there is also a calorie calculator there that many of find indispensible. (Don't be scared by the sales/products on the site. you can ignore those.)

3) If you think you are going to pursue this way of eating, I HIGHLY recommend getting the book by Dr. Johnson. It really does help to know the scientific fundamentals of the diet - why it works, etc.

JUST an FYI: combining low carb with JUDDD is a definite tweak of this way of eating. The diet designer (Dr. Johnson) doesn't seem to be a big fan of LCing. But most people - for obvious reasons - on this board who do JUDDD also LC.

Best of luck and let us know how it's going! (If you haven't yet, you imght want to check into the regular JUDDD thread, there are great people there too and plenty of seasoned veterans to also offer you support and information. )

Good Morning Tweakers!!

I am back to my all time low of 123.2, but I really want to get into the 122's. Normally, I do not low carb on my UD's, but I am going to keep it low carb today to see if that might help me get to the next low.

I know I am having chicken salad for lunch and Big Mac in a bowl for dinner. Not sure about snacks yet.

Michelle

Good Morning!! Well I hopped on the scale this morning and I'm down 7lbs in 3 days!!! I think JUDDD has given me what I was missing with straight low-carb. I was hitting a roadblock @ 180 lbs before. I know it's mostly water weight but it's weight that isn't in my body now!
