Hi.Yesterady was a good day. I did end up adding 110 cals more.to 290.a 4 oz. grilled chicken breast. came to 400 cals.for the dd.
Today is up day.{ salads and soups and a whey protein shake with fresh berries in blender with 1 cup.soy milk>Light.and fresh cup of fresh steam green beans.and grilled veg. burger.
That's the plan so far.
Im so glad snow is all gone. Monday back to curves 5 days week I think when I do remember that I need to add ground flax seed to salads. Im going to see what in cals. I have with added vitamins.and add that to count for body knows a calorie is a cal.no matter what. It does add up.[What do u think.?{Just hard to do that.
I have not measured Greens and stuff in salads. I just count if I use Fat free dressing@2T
or add fat free cheese.1/4cup {when I do.
I can not wait for the Juddd book to come in.
My hubby and I will most likely go out this week for lunch or diner but that will be a up day. I like a veg. burger they have where we go. so I think that is save call.{No fries.
The only think that bugs me on that.{Wont know a calorie count for that veg. bugar with bun.
Oh well Up day then. and keep low the rest of night. except for whey shake at night or fresh juice.
and maybe a salad at night for diner.
Daisey enjoy your lunch day.
You are doing good.
Im not weighing in till Friday. That will be a up day.{I think that is when I weigh?
Kind.

knd..I really don't take enough supplements to worry with. not sure where you are eating out at. but some places you can look on line and find calorie count. I like going to subway. you can make healthy choices there as well. at burger king thet have veggie burgers and apple fries thats what I eat when I eat there. I do leave off the mayo and cheese.

I also love Subway.
We are going to Jim Dandies,I will just have to watch.Unless I can Bat my eyes at hubby and look cute and go to Subway instead.ha.
But I could also get the veg. burger and see if they can do a lettuce wrap instead of bread.I just use mustard on my Sandwiches or plain.I also take my own salad dressing to.
I found a great way to stay with2T. fat free dressing and that is to add mustard> good with dressing and stir. Makes a nice serving and it taste good. U would think Mustard would be over broad with the 2T dressing but Not .
Plus I also at times use dash of red pepper{Ground} And mix in dressing.adds a kick .
Take care.

No.} Veggie.burger with bun or lettuce {Not mustard bread.ha.} Hope that is not what it sounded like?
But i don't know why it would hurt to have a veg. burger there even with a bun.

Feeling some success today and keeping fingers crossed that this will continue!

Yesterday I struggled with my DD for the first time since starting JUDDD but finished with 450 cal (including 50 for my supplements!) which is only 50 higher than I usually allow myself. And I'm down 2 pounds this week!

I suspect yesterday's hunger was my body resisting loss because in the past whenever I've lost any weight, I find myself famished. Reminding myself that I could eat "anything I wanted" today really helped me stay on course.

Again, JUDDD seems to be the answer to my need to seriously restrict calories. What I also love about this woe is that I feel great.
Two pounds is AWESOME!

The mysteries of the body!

I weighed on Saturday morning (after my Friday DD) and was thrilled with a 2 lb loss for the week, which I've already reported.

Saturday was a normal UD for me at about 1400 calories (I aim for 1200 but often miss:-) I try to keep my DD to MWF, and that means I try to have Sunday as a "medium" day (c. 900 cal), but I always wind up turning it into an UD, and this week was no exception. It was pretty much the same as Saturday.

This morning, I decided to weigh (after 2 UDs!) to see how much damage was done and motivate myself to a great DD. I was down another whole pound!

I think the message here is that what our bodies are doing doesn't necessarily match exactly to our eating, and it's important to be faithful to your plan regardless of what the scale says. I've had the opposite happen to me where I've been totally faithful and expecting to see a loss and get a slight gain instead--which always demoralizes me. The body works in its own time.

So if you show a gain or stall when you expect a loss, just keep at it; your body will cooperate eventually.

That's what I call the rhythm, what I am looking for as proof that I am finally fueling my body in a way that helps it to metabolize fat and show results in pounds and inches for my daily LC plan. Except for massive salt intake, with a resulting bloat of water weight and puffy ankles, I think it takes a week or so for my body to reflect what is written into my food diary. That's how far back I look when I see a good loss and want to see what menu I was using to prompt a downward glide.

Leo:

I've never seen any science that suggests that what we consume today will have a causal affect on the scale tomorrow. It might, but then again, it might not. I see posts all over this board with people saying things like: "I ate a potato yesterday and I'm down .2 0z today so I guess I should up my carbs" I've hunted all over the place for info about how long it takes our bodies to metabolize what we eat, so that I can get a sense of the cause and effect of my eating, but have never been able to find anything. I do think that I once saw a post from Lisabinil about this that suggested a 48 hour window for scale response to what's been eaten.

What's been your experience? Have you been able to track well enough to get a sense of this for yourself?

Add me to the list!

Looks like we've had some great results this last week! (go JUDD!)

Please add me to the list. I weighed on Saturday mornign and for the first time in GOD KNOWS HOW MANY YEARS (more than a decade for sure) I saw a number lower than 200LBS: 199.5 LBS for me!

Lets just say I am THRILLED! I did UD on both Saturday and Sunday due to Sunday social obligations. I did NOT weigh this morning but am having good clean DD today and anticipate holding steady under 200 when I weigh in tomorrow a.m.

This makes two weeks in a row that I have lost almost 2 LBS! Miraculous for this girl. Thank GOD I found this WOE. I wish I could remember who it was that posted about it in the ML.

*FOREVER GRATEFUL*

Kisha-

Congratulations! That's so wonderful. And I know you'll just keep getting lower. I suspect that JUDDD is somehow useful to us hypothyroids because we're having the same results--and were having such a difficult time before. It certainly helps me restrict calories without too much pain.

Retro-

I, too, get frustrated when people think that what they ate the day before shows immediately on the scale (it might if it's just water--i.e., a gain, but it won't show loss). Some time ago, I read (but don't know where), that it takes at least 24 hours but more like 48 hours for anything we've eaten to affect loss. I think this varies with individuals (depending on metabolism).
For example, I wasn't TOO surpised at my loss this morning because I have a tendency to retain water, and today I was peeing like crazy. Something made my body decide to let that water go. I don't eat a lot of salt; this is just something that has always been true of me--I don't know why my body retains water OR how to get it to release it, but I know that eventually it does release.

Back to the lesson. What I'm assuming is that the pattern I've been following with JUDDD (DD at about 400 cal; UD at 1200-1400) is resulting in loss, and that's really want I've wanted to ascertain. As I continue with this, should there be a sudden gain, I'd want to investigate the reason.

In any case, it's been so long since I've been able to restrict calories enough to lose that I'm thrilled with JUDDD.
