It must be PMs/TOM failure
I start a DD and do well all day at work
THEN I get home and cant resist whatever DH has fixed for supper
Monday was BBQ
Tues Nachos
so between Sat, Sun, Mon, Tues I've had 4 UD in a row
today (was supposed to be my UD) I've brought to work
1 special K bar and a can of ravioli (540 cals in the can)
I guess I could have a MD and have my "diet soup" for supper
and start my DD/UD rotation when I'm finished with TOM ??

Hey Retro... yeah my weight was up this morning. Morning after a good succesful DD:

Calories 500
Fat 24.5 219 44 %
Carbohydrate 36.0 140 28 %
Dietary Fiber 5.6
Protein 35.5 140 28 %
Alcohol 0.0 0 0 %

I suspect its because I didn't drink nearly the amount of water I usually do on DD... plus I ate some salty 97% FF Hot dogs... who knows I just know its not FAT! lol.
After all this time I try not to let scale fluctuations get to me too much. I know I'm on a downward trend with JUDD so I'll keeep with it.

ETA: I just did a ring check and my fingers are definately retaining fluid. Its water.

WOE: Eatin clean@ using the Nutri Bullet
Start Date: .Aug. 2012
Hi Every one.
Today ends my 1st.week on Judd{.Lost 7 1/2lbs.}
Now if I can just keep that going or even loose2-4lbs aweek that will be great.
Today is a ud and a new week to see what I and Juddd can to together.
Letting my body tell me when Im really hungery and then eat and learn to stop when full.Thats what it is really about.Even through we are to watch calaries{For they add up
Those numbers he gives us is just that. That does not mean to eat to reach calaries,{At least thats what I take from reading book... Mainly to learn to feel full and stop and know when you really need to eat. Make sure to you are eating heathy foods like Grains, beans.. Fruits. alots of veg. Good fats and so on.drink water and Non sugar drinks.{Fresh juicing is great too.
This is Not a short run. You have to do thisway or another diet that works for you.
just my thoughts.
know yourself and you will be free.[ from book of juddd.
But 7 1/2lbs _{1 week. Pat myself on back.ha
}

Water gain is the pits! I don't have to eat excess sodium; my body retains water for all sorts of reasons. The good news is that eventually it lets go, and the scales show a loss, but it IS disheartening to see a gain, even when you know it's just water.

Take heart Retro and Kisha--I suffer with you:-)

Is it possible that it's actually the restricted calories causing the water retention/weight gain on DDs?

normally I am down after DD. But I also normally drink WAY more water than usual. Maybe 2 Litres and on UD I don't really drink water at all. Yesterday I didn't drink my water

So no, normally I am NOT up after DD...

well i think I've been eating way too many! Anywhere from 2300-2800!!! Its nuts. So this week I am going to make sure I ONLY eat to the JUDD recommended number for me which is maximum 2100. For convenience I'll aim for 2000 on UD and then I do up to 500 on DD which gives me an average of 1250 per day... which should equal .5 - 1 LB loss per week (A GREAT Rate of loss for me)

Thats what I'm aiming for and I know I can do it for the next seven days at least!

Thanks for all the encouragement guys, you are all doing so well!
Thank you!

It's only my third day, but I'm really liking this. I feel in control of my eating and I hope that sticks. Even doing Atkins, I never felt in control. I was always trying to plan meals that were new and different so I stayed on plan. Now I get a break from that every other day. It doesn't take a whole lot of thought planning 370 calories.

I'm really super cold today and I'm wondering if it's from the low calories. Of course, I work with kids, so it's possible I'm catching one of their colds.

All of you are doing wonderfully!!

I am ALWAYS WAY COLDER on DD. I totally believe its from way fewer calories to stoke my furnace so to speak. I often shiver myself to sleep at night on DD!

I meant to write you a note earlier. Please don't worry about the UDs that you had... that is the beauty of this program. Everymorning is a chance to start over with a good clean DD. Just get right back on track and you'll be fine!

I just wanted to stop in and say hi

I'm on a DD today. I've been on JUDD for a week (this will be my 4th DD) and I haven't lost any weight. I had an initial loss of 2 pounds but it came back. I must be doing something wrong...

O no Cowgirl! that is discouraging. Have you been using ****** or other tracking software to track your food? I find it a total necessity! Can you post an UD and DD daily menu with cal totals?

I hope we can help!

Yes, I have been keeping track of my calories for several months now.

My last DD I had 3 eggs and 2 pieces of bacon.

Calories: 340
Fat: 28 g 72.5%
Protein: 23 g 26.1%
Carbs: 1 g 1.4%

I saved all my calories and just ate dinner - not sure if that makes a difference.

My last UD I had:

B: 1 oz macadamia nuts, 20 olives, 1/2 avocado
L: hamburger patty, 1 slice cheddar, side salad with 2T ranch
D: 5 oz chicken breast and 1/2 cup green beans with 2T butter
S: 2 hard boiled eggs

Calories: 1765
Fat: 130 g, 68.5%
Protein: 95 g, 22.2%
Carbs: 39 g, 9.3%
Fiber: 19 g

I'm also exercising on my DD's (about 2 hours total) and I drink TONS of water.

WOW.
Your menu looks immaculate to me! I hate to give this advice because I don't know how helpful it is... but just keep doing what you're doing for another couple of DD UD cycles... maybe your body is um *shocked*?

I haven't heard of someone not losing during at least the first week. Maybe stay off the scale for the week and then weigh? Are you only weighing on morning after DD? My weight fluctuates ALOT and also the book says to ONLY weigh on morning after DD.

Technically, I only keep track of my weight on Monday mornings, but I do weigh every day (always in the morning).

I'm going to keep at it for at least another week to see what happens. *sigh*

Thanks for your help!

That makes complete sense. Dh is going to love me when I throw the down comforter on the bed tonight!

Spacecowgirl~ I am so new to this that I may have no idea what I'm talking about, but everytime I start a new plan it takes a few days for my body to adjust. It's like I've confused my system and it holds onto water for all it's worth. I know how irritating it is to be doing everything right without seeing a loss.

Spacecowgirl-

I'd like to second what Krysti says about the water. My body often reacts to changes by retaining water. And you mention exercise; that, too, can result in fluid retention as the body repairs micro muscle tears as part of the recovery process. I also noticed the olives, cheddar, and ranch dressing in your menu--all can be sodium rich, and that can compound the problem.

I'd give it another week. (I know how discouraging this is because I've been there, too often.)

Yesterdays DD turned into an UD unfortunately. Still don't have that emotional eating thing in check but as of this morning I am still one pound lighter than when I started on saturday (and that is after pizza and chocolate). I need all the energy I can muster for the next few days because we are moving on saturday but I am going to keep things moderate. This can't be an all you can eat pass! I like having this thread to come to, you guys are great and none of the DRAMA!

DECENT UD Yesterday

REALLY trying to keep my UD around 2000... I went a bit over that but didn't go crazy:

Calories 2,215
Fat 150.1 1,321 60 %
Carbohydrate 42.1 169 8 %
Dietary Fiber 7.1
Protein 174.3 728 33 %
Alcohol 0.0 0 0 %

I'm happy with all of the macros and i guess will live with the total cals. My problem is that today is DD and my big bosses and I are getting taken to lunch. If I make lunch my one meal of the day and get a salad with chicken and oil and vinegar I think I can pull it off.

I predict I'll be taking a unisom to go to sleep early tonight! I normally eat after work about 5:30 so having all my food earlier is going to be difficult!

Yes, Kisha, get to sleep early. I've found that when I have my food at noon, I really feel "hungry" at night, mainly because that's when I'm used to eating. So whether or not I actually have physical hunger, it's really difficult for me NOT to eat.

LUNCH REPORT:

It went well> I got a cashew chicken feta salad with vinegarette on the side. Had 1 tbs of dressing, all the lettuce maybe 2 oz of chicken... 9 cashews and about 2 square inches of feta. no one noticed me counting my nuts lol. So I can still have two 97% fat free hebrew national hot dogs, 1 wedge of laughing cow light cheese and bulk that up with celery in a bowl with TJs mustard garlic aoili... and I'll come right in at 500 for the day!

I'm pleased.
