Allergies ??? Got Garlic ???
Well, I spoke too soon, when I said I wasn't experiencing allergies, this season. DH has been very sick for a couple of weeks, and day before yesterday I started getting sick. I told him that I guess the Ragweed was finally getting to me, and he said they told him at work, that it is MOLD SPORE. He said that with all of the rain we've had this summer, and with Gustav and Ike (even here in Missouri), the mold spore is one of the highest counts they've ever had.
So, we were taking lots of Vitamin C, trying to get the symptoms under control. I ran out of 1000mg Vitamin C and was looking through the medicine shelf for some more. I thought I had some 500mg, but couldn't find any. But, I did find a bottle of garlic capsules. I thought, "Garlic is good for you", so I took a couple. OMG! :speechless: I'd say within an hour, I was already feeling a little better. So, I started searching "Mold Garlic" on the internet and there are pages and pages of research on using garlic to treat mold related allergies/illnesses. It seems that garlic is an anti-fungal and mold is a fungus and garlic is also a natural anti-biotic. WHO KNEW??? Well, that was yesterday afternoon. Yesterday evening, I coughed and coughed and blew my nose constantly, all evening. I was so sick, I just wanted to die. Then, I took two more before bed. I slept on the couch because I KNEW I'd be up and down with coughing fits all night long and didn't want to wake-up DH...he had to work today. (OH...I had him take some garlic last night and this morning). I woke up about two hours after I went to sleep, with a small coughing fit. THAT WAS IT! I slept like a log, all night long. This morning I have a sniffly nose and my throat feels a little scratchy, but all of my major symptoms are GONE! I just got a text message from DH and it says, "GARLIC IS GOOD!".I'm on my way to the health food store, to get a neti pot (sp?) and some high mg Vitamin C. I think I'll pick-up some good garlic supplements...some with garlic oil. This I have is from Walmart, and it's powder, and I don't know how old it is. It still worked, but I want to get the best there is.

Hmmm...DH is Italian...likes garlic in EVERYTHING...will even 'mash it' and eat it...and doesn't EVER have allergies...HMMM. Allergies are HORRIBLE....I"m glad you've found something that worked.
