Dr Emma's plan
Hi guys,
I'm new the the forum but have been on HCG for 21 days so far, including 2 loading days. I've lost 21 lbs and very happy for that. Today I started Dr Emma 's plan and WHOA is it different!!! I had been taking 150 mg of hcg on my old plan and doing nicely. She now has me on 200 mg a day ( both via injection). Every week my shots increase in strength by 25 mg. I find that very interesting and am curious to see if that has any effect on my weight loss. I am assuming it will only affect my hunger level which has been non exestient really. Her food "rules" are very different as well. She is much more lenient. Still no sugar or oil, and limit carbs but as long as I am 500 calories a day I'm good. Not planning to do that however. I say why mess with what's working and the Simeon's way has been working. Another interesting change in her plan is no restriction on lotions or creams. That too will be hard to do. Can not imagine using oil on my skin although I would love to!! Anyone else on the Dr Emma plan? |

I am not on Dr. Emma's plan, however, I am a massage therapist and use gel (which is basically a thick oil) on my clients up to 5 hrs a week depending on my number of clients.
I also stopped changing out my products as far as moisturizers ect but everyone is different so I guess it all depends. To be honest I stick to protocol foods pretty closely but I'd be lying if I said that's all I included. There are times when I have something a bit off protocol but I do try to stick to it. I agree with your point of if it's working for you why mess with it. |

I would love to start using regular creams and oils. My hands are so dry, and my feet. That is what I am most tempted by. Her point of view is there is no research stating our bodies can absorb nutrients through the s,in for digestion. Makes sense but I'm scared to try!!! Are you still losing at a nice rate with the oils your using?

I lost 7.7 lbs this week...it's ok but I realize I made a couple of poor food choices this week that probably kept me from reaching 10lbs or close to it. I don't attribute it to the oils.
I had a full week of massage clients and I lost everyday other than the day I screwed up and even then I just didn't have a loss that day. I didn't gain. |

I kind of stumbled in here out of boredom. Thought I would ad my two cents. I have pretty severe gluten intolerance and there are mixed ideas as to whether or not you should avoid wheat/gluten in skin care products because of the possibility of absorbing and having a reaction. Personally, I have no problem, and do not know anyone who has. BUT I have heard stories of people having reactions. It could be individual metabolisms?

I used my obagi tonight, although I am not sure if there is oil in it or not. First time for me to use it since I started the diet. I will see what happens tomorrow. I think if I could use all the creams I am use to using I could stay on this plan forever!
I love how HCG kills my appetite. I have to say that I am noticing a different on the higher dose of HCG. After 23 days I was starting to get a little hungry though out the day (on the 150mg injection). This week, I am on a 200 mg injection and POW no hunger! Gotta love that! I did work out today for the first time. I tried to take it easy but I am scared about what it will do to my weight loss. This is CRAZY of me to say, but I would like to work out about 3x a week. Holy cow, I think hell just froze over!! Between the workout and the obagi, we will see! |

I have read that but I don't believe it is the case. Maybe with drops, which she says absolutely do not get into the blood stream and therefor do NOTHING to our bodies. ( If anyone is interested in what her literature says about this I will be happy to post more info)
Personally speaking, I am less hungry than I was at the end of my round taking 150mg. My dose increases every week, this round up to 275mg. Wit that in mind, if it were true that a higher injected dose increases hunger, all her patients would be starving hungry, I would think. She has a booklet you get, actually a couple of booklets, when you begin. They are packed with info. One booklet she goes through Simmeon's plan and explains what she has found in her research to either back it up or debunk it. One thing she debunks is the no mixing of veggies. She says..."Vegetables of similar components (fiber, carbohydrates, nutrients) should look chemically similar to the body upon digestion." |

You keep saying "mg." Do you mean iu's? HCG is usually measure in international units (iu), not mg. As in I take shots of 150iu. Simeons' gave his patients 125iu. So that's confusing.
I thought her plan was similar to the Sonia Russell 800 calorie protocol with mostly just extra protein and egg whites for breakfast. I would love to hear exactly what's different, if you have the time. She said on Dr. Oz that many of her patients had MORE than 500 calories, as if in response to the FDA concerns. But I definitely got the feeling that it wasn't strictly 500, so I'm confused when you say you can eat more things as long as it's 500. Again, please post Emma's rules if you can. I am SO curious. Also I'm curious if Dr. Emma believes in loading. I thought I saw somewhere on her website that it was optional. BTW, I think am going to try Sonia Russell's plan for my next round, now that I've done two the "traditional way." I downloaded her e-book and she has many people who did it both ways and lost as well or better on the 800 plan (which is really UNDER 800, somewhere between 500 and 800).

The doctor I just started going to also has me on an 800 calorie plan. He said 600-800 but he has me subtracting protein calories. He has great results with the people who go there so I am falling it exactly. It is pretty similar to Pounds and Inches but you get a protein shake, eggs, egg whites or other high protein meal for breakfast. It must total at least 30 grams of protein for breakfast. I can also have sugar free jello and protein bars if they meet certain requirements. You can also use lotion, etc. The lunch and dinner meals are the same as the original protocol however as well as vegs and fruit, meat used.

Ok, second attempt!
Her plan is calculated on an individual basis, ie your calorie need, protein need. She stated that she has typically yet not exclusively, seen the quickest results with a 500 calorie diet, hence why I am on 500 calories. I am going to list her approved foods. It is lengthy (YAY!) so bear with me. Proteins: 98% F/F ground beef, sirloin, london broil, roast beef 97% lean extra lean ham deli meat, pork tenderloin, boneless/skinless chicken breast or turkey breast, deli turkey breast, 98% lean ground turkey breast, blue crab, clams, cod, flounder, haddock, halibut, lobster, ocean perch, pollack, rockfish, scallops, shrimp, tilapia, tuna (fresh or canned in water), egg whites, F/F cottage cheese, F/F yogurt, F/F cheeses Veggies: Asparagus, broccoli, snap beans, brussel sprouts, califlower, cabbage, carrots, celery, chives, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, dill pickle, eggplant, lettuce, mushrooms, onion red or white, red pepper, green pepper, radish, spinach, squash, tomato Fruit: Apple, blackberries, blueberries, cherries, clememtine, cranberries, grapefruit, grapes red or green, kiwi, lemon, lime mango, melon, nectarine, orange, papaya, peach, pear, pineapple! (fresh 1/2 cup), plum, strawberry, watermelon Also allowed: 1 rice cake 4", 3-4 saltines, melba toast, milk or creamer for coffee but limit them Water: divide your weight by 2 and drink that amount in ounces but always get the minimum of 64 ounces. |

Now on to some other things worth mentioning...
She is not a fan of loading. Says it just ends up making the patient have more to lose. Breakfast: Have if needed. She said that Simeons must have had that rule in order to keep calorie counts low. As for the 3.5 ounces of protein thing, she calculates protein needs on an individual basis. Says it is ridiculous for a 300lb male and a 130 lb female to be on the same amount of protein. Her rule is 1 gram of protein per kilogram of body weight. Vegetables: Mix them if you please Oil/ Sugar: None but she says she has clients who continue to use a spoon a day and have great results. Body lotion: She says there is no scientific proof that it can be absorbed and digested. Tom: Don't stop injections Exercise: Light only Length of program: Simeon's said no longer than 6 weeks. She says that a patient is just beginning to have a significant change in body composition at 4 weeks. At 8 weeks, she says there is a much great difference in body composition. She has treated someone as long a 4 months continually. Stalls: She says most likely a stall is due to water, either you are drinking too little or too much. A stall could also be due to hormones or stress. She says if a patient uses diuretics they will have more stalls. Exercise, cheating on the plan, not enough sleep etc. Her maintenance plan is also VERY different. First of all, you do not stop your injections, rather you slowly decrease your dose while allowing more and different kinds of foods. Since I am far away from maintenance that is all I know about that. |

Not to beat a dead horse but I want to reiterate that she has very strong feelings about the drops. She says the only way to get HCG into the blood stream is by injection.
No method but injections work. There are several studies she references in her booklets about this. |

Hi, yes, it is injected. I will have to look on the label and see how much. They give us the injections to take home. Once a week injections the first month, the second month, two injections once a week. So far so good! My doctor also did not recommend loading.

Thank you SookieMama for ALL of that work. It is such a blessing to read that. My curiosity has been great since seeing it on Dr. Oz.
Did she talk about the "different" food choices from P&I being of the same type, style, breakdown as the original ones? My injections state 1000 Units ML 10 MLs and on the syringe I take it to the 20 mark Does anyone know what that means? |
