I'm getting excited for P3, not sure when I'll be there, sometime next week hopefully. All depends on how this week goes... lol
Here's a recipe my mom got me after their trip to Costco, this was at one of the taste test table and she said it was... sooooo good and my mom doesn't like yogurt! Obviously in P3 we'd want to use full fat yogurt and mayo right? Also the vegi soup mix may have to be a homeade spice blend to avoid sugars and corn starches?? Not sure what in those packs yet. Spinach Dip with Greek Yogurt 1 package (300g) of frozen chopped spinach, cooked, cooled and squeezed dry 1 container (500g) plain greek yogur 1 cup Hellmann's Mayonnaise-type dressing 1 package Knorr Vegatable dry soup mix 1 can (8oz) water chestnuts, drained and chopped (optional) 3 green onions, chopped (optional) Combine all ingredients. Chill, if desired. I also want to try this with raw fresh spinach, I'm not the biggest fan of cooked spinach but I've never heard of anyone trying it with raw greens... I hope it still tastes good! Good day all, happy maintaining. Last edited by Bitsky; 03-13-2013 at 09:39 AM.. |

Checking in . Scale is down and only up .4 from my lowest weight so I'm a week into p3 and all is well I'm feeling really good about my menu selections today and think I'll be back to my low tomorrow. We shall see. I may even drop a little. I'm outside fooling around in my yard today with a beautifu sun, my netbook on my patio and my little dog helping me garden. A VERY nice way to spend the day. I am blessed for sure

So far I have eaten half a grapefruit, about 5 oz of salmon, and a tbsp of mayo. It's 1 PM. I really need to figure out some good breakfasts. My problem is that eggs make me nauseous, at least they did before this diet, so I am afraid to try them. My doc wants me to avoid dairy for 2 weeks, so I am not sure what to try instead.

For lunch I eat a lot of avocado, fatty meat, and real dressing on a salad. For dinner, more fatty meat, cooked veggies with butter or olive oil (plenty of it), and usually some fruit with whipped cream. If you are avoiding dairy, try it with coconut cream (the solid part of coconut milk in the can). That will get your calories up.Quote:

Hi everyone. Day three of the potato hack going well. Still no loss this morning on the scale but I am wearing my smallest jeans with plenty of room (i.e. NOT cutting off the blood supply to my brain!
) and I'm feeling alert and energetic. Not sure if I will go a fourth day. I think I will decide tomorrow and see what the scale says. I'd like to get at least one decent reading prior to leaving on my weekend trip on Friday which would mean tomorrow would be a regular low carb day. Still on the fence. Once you get into it, it really isn't hard. A little boring but no cravings yet. Meh. Busy day today with the drive down to the OC and a spate of meetings. WOW! Do I need someone to help with this project! I seriously need to talk to my boss about this! There are only so many hours in the day. In fact, off to another one! Later kids! |

Has anyone used a packet of ranch dip for anything on p3. I don't see any sugar in the ingredients. I was thinking of adding it to some gy and making some ranch dip thats full of protein. Any thoughs?
I made some homemade chicken wings and a wedge salad for lunch/dinner. |

I stopped by the store that sells it on my way home from work today, just in case I need it soon. It has more fat per serving than protein. Maybe that is why it works so well.

Not sure why the weight is creeping up a little, maybe too much beef at night for dinners... I'm not too worried, haven't added anything I didn't have in P2, except fats.

I think we are keeping pace... within 5 lbs in weight, and on the same day of P3. I'll be doing my next round starting around Easter maybe... and I'm just across the pond from you in Nanaimo! I just need to catch up to your 180 lbs

I don't think anyone answered. it's coffee with coconut oil and butter in it, sometimes heavy cream. If you put 1 tbsp of coconut oil in a blender with the coffee and blend, ti gets all creamy and foamy like you whipped cream. It's really good, nothing I ever thought I'd like! Really good with butter too, amazing flavour, really!

I've never seen Kerrygold here, I just use regular salted store brand, and I like it a lot. I do use Nutiva coconut oil, which smells great, but I don't notice much of a taste from it. If I'm feeling really indulgent I put 2 tbsp of heavy cream in as well, but doing it in the blend, gives it the texture of cream without it anyway.
Since entering P3 I've been having BP coffee in the morning on the way to work, then I have 2 egg muffins (egg, onion, peppers, and a tiny bit of bacon cooked in a muffin tin) around 11, then lunch, protein and veggie, then a protein shake or fat bomb with veggies late afternoon, and supper is veggies and meat cooked in butter/Co. Still, with all that, I'm coming up 1600 cals or less, and need more after supper. I should eat more for breakfast I guess. |
