Sweet stuff, huh? Have you tried the fudgey coconut peanut (almond) bars? Search the forum for the recipe. Or how about some HWC mousse? Take 3/4c of HWC put it in a food processor. Add a little vanilla, 1-2T cocoa powder, the equivalent of 3T sweetener. Whip it up until really firm (usually about a minute). Serve with strawberries. How about crepes with berries and cream? Cream cheese mixed with sweetener and cocoa or lemon juice? A coconut cream pudding?

gycd today as I will be in school from 9am-6pm then church service from 7 to 9 this is the ideal day to do this. I will have 32oz. of cabots 10% fat with 8 oz. of strawberries and stevia. I was at 213.1 today I want to get back to 210 so badly. I hope to see a big loss after TOM goes away but usually I don't..I don't know why...I always keep what i gain during Tom. here's to hoping I don't gain during this gycd.

good luck to everyone trying to lose/ maintain

Up 1.0 lbs today to 182.2 (0.5 over LDW). I only had about 1175 calories yesterday, with 94 grams of protein, 50% fat and 51 net carbs - including the 2 Grissini.

I am undecided about continuing the Grissini experiment. I do realize that it's normal to bounce around weight-wise the first week of P3 and that I still don't have my calories up high enough AND I did have cheese with dinner last night - so all of those could explain the blips. Since LDW day, it's looked like this: -0.3 (E1), -0.7 (E2), +1.0, -0.5, +1.0. I'm still not at the Correction Day point, of course. I tend to have the Grissinis later in the day, always have, so I have time to decide...

Tomorrow is an early office day where I'll be weighing in around 6 a.m., historically showing a small gain. We'll see how that plays out this time.

Dinner tonight will be flank steak and lunch probably leftover Mexican Chicken (with cheese). Not sure on the veggies yet.

Thank you for the yummy ideas Shelby, I've been wanting to make those bars. I wrote the recipe down last p2 lol I'm trying to get all the ingredients together for it. I'm on the search for the unsweetened coconut flakes. I don't think I will use the protein powder.

I made some bacon wrapped chicken thighs for lunch and dinner. They are very good. It's been years since I've eaten chicken thighs, very juicy.

You are very welcome. I'm not sure the bars will work without the protein powder but try them and see. Possibly you could sub wheat germ or more coconut? It just needs some more binder/filler. Why would you leave it out? As for the unsweetened coconut, try looking in the natural foods or gluten free section in the baking aisle where they have stuff like steel cut oats, wheat germ, etc. Bob's Red Mill is a brand of unsweetened coconut that I have seen in a lot of regular supermarkets as well as health food stores. Also sometimes you can find it in the ethnic foods sections of supermarkets.

ETA: Aren't chicken thighs THE BOMB?!?!?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Not down any pounds from day 1 of the potato hack but that isn't surprising to me. Last time, the effects were actually more evident AFTER I stopped hacking. I just had kind of a weird scare though. Normally I "backload" my thyroid and adrenal meds--that is to say, I take my first dose at ~6am then don't take my next dose until 12pm, with later doses at 4pm and 9pm. Well today, I was running a little late in my 12pm meeting so didn't get to take my second dose until closer to 1pm and WOW was I feeling weird! Lightheaded, dizzy, and very very hypothyroid. I usually don't get anywhere NEAR that state, even if I'm a little delayed in taking my meds so it was pretty strange. Anyway, I took my meds and felt better almost immediately. I also ate my potato and I must say it was THE best tasting potato EVER!
Looking forward to seeing what the scale says tomorrow. Stopping by the market this evening for more 'taters to carry me through at least one more day. Might do a fourth day Thursday but we shall see...
You can often buy sample size packs of protein powder at the store. That way you could buy just enough for the recipe.
Doing ok with the stabilizing, not swinging too far in any one direction. I need to eat more earlier in the day I think, to bump those calories up, just... don't want to get into that habit since that's not the way I live my life! Setting myself up to get comfortable eating 1900 cals a day when I'm still needing to lose 50 lbs seems counter productive.
I read it, but I am asking did I screw up because it is the second day of elimination. It is supposed to be a VLCD, but I couldn't do it because I was starving.
I guess I'll find out when I step on the scale tomorrow!
donsdatter i think you will be fine, i started upping my calories on my two eliminiation days by using cream in my coffee and a bit more protein. I have stabilized fairly well and stayed below ldw until TOM came to visit! Now i am right at LDW and just finished 3 weeks of P3
Yeah, you should be fine. On her transition on the second day of no drops she ups the calories to 1000. Ive done this transition before. I stabilized really well.
I am eating them mostly baked and cold. I like them that way, weirdly. I have had a couple boiled but for the most part, giant russets, baked, with malt vinegar, s&p. Yum!
TMB - Good idea on the single serve protein powder packs. I think the recipe calls for about a cup maybe so she might need more than one but that is genius! I bet Walmart does have samples and I know for sure places like GNC do.
donsd - the others are right. You should be fine. On elimination day #2 I upped my calories by adding 250 extra calories of fat. Unless you had a cup of dressing you should be ok. Hang in there!
I'm doing great! Not much time to post here as I've been out enjoying being outside, getting stuff done around my house and shopping for cute spring attire I'm within my window and today is day 7 of my p3. I'm just sort of bouncing around but staying within the window, so no worries here. I was a bad p3'r today though and had some rice cakes so we shall see how the scale goes the next few days I tossed out most of the bag to not be bothered by them over the next 2 weeks so I should get a pass for doing that, right:
So this morning, with my blue cheese salad and cheddar cheese indiscretion last night, I am +1.4 pounds to 175.8, which is .4 over my LIW, which seems like it is OK. I'm going to cut out the cheese, and try to keep from getting so hungry by eating more at my regular meals. Phase 3 seems a lot harder than I thought it would be
Down 0.4 lbs today to only 0.1 over LDW. I did have 1 Grissini yesterday again and an orange (against normal P3 advice). I also had beef 3 times, a mug cake, strawberries and cream, veggies and cream in my coffee.. 1500ish calories, 112 grams of protein, 53% fat and 55 net carbs. The experiment continues. Oh, and I weighed in at 6 a.m. due to my early in-office day.
I used to love blue cheese. I don't know what happened. I do well with asiago and gruyere. I try to get natural shredded cheese with no starch. got to love those cheesy salads. I put cheese on everything in p3.
