Morning all! Good luck Pandora!!
I am happy to note that I was 121.2 this morning, a loss of 2.2. I'm glad I stuck with the fat fast for one more day. I feel like a new woman. ![]() |

Thanks ladies ! I must of broken another world record in gaining while loading 16.6 lbs
in 2 1/2 days. Wow ! I know it's inflammation & water gain etc etc but damn can I gain or what ?!? Hope I can lose it as fast & this has definitely turned me off from doing another round. I'm sticking to this round until goal weight. Hopefully I can get there is 21 days or if needed a few extra days. |

So much for getting to 210 by today
I was at 211 on Saturday and today I'm up 1.9 I'm guessing its just TOM. Here I was thinking I was going to escape. it's ok. I'll just keep eating clean. Might do that GYCD tmrw seeing that I keep postponing. I got cabot but it taste like sour cream to me. stevia wont affect CD losses? Today is also my first day of P4 but I will be extending p3 in hopes of getting back to my LDW either 207 or 205. I don't remember ![]() |

Pandora! Wow! I hope the woosh fairy comes quickly to woosh away all that water weight.
Things are going well for me. The good news is that I have seemed to stabilize, the bad news is that it's about 3lbs up from my LIW. It's hard to say if I will stay here because it's still TOM for me. I'm not trying to correct these 3lbs due to TOM, but if it stays here I will be okay with that. I'm not struggling with food at all. I'm definitely satisfied with less these days. My sugar cravings are minimal. I am hoping things stay this way until my next round in April. |

Morning, everyone. I was down 0.5 lbs today, .5 below LDW. I only had about 1150 calories due to a late start to the day (weekend sleep-in) and they did include the 2 Grissini experiment. Obviously, the experiment is still inconclusive so I will continue it for another day to see what happens.
I have read that when you do a GY correction day, you can have sweetener and up to 8 oz of berries with your yogurt throughout the day. Might make it a bit more palatable. |

Not hungry at all (how could I be anyway) ! I will report tomorrow my losses. Keeping my fingers crossed because I had to break out my size 6 very stretchy pants today & not happy at all about that. I always tell myself not to overdo it when I load but this is a record even for me ! But my mindset is very positive & so far not miserable like I was last round from day 1. I just really want to get into the 120's again. |

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hi everyone. Well, I decided on the potato hack for this week. I tried to start yesterday but it's just not very likely that I'll stick to something like that if I'm lazing around at home! Just too many yummy things in the fridge to eat! Not bad stuff--just lots of stuff OTHER than potatoes! Blueberries and chicken thighs and cashews, oh my! I also did NOT get up early this morning to work out. I forgot about the time change and when that alarm went off at 5:00am it sure FELT like 4:00am! Fuggedaboudit! Either walking the park or hitting the treadclimber this evening instead. It's supposed to be beautiful outside and at least I have an extra hour at the END of the day! I don't think I will count any weights in the next two days toward my potato hack success. Last time, I saw more of an impact a week or two later in my decreased carb sensitivity. Still sitting in the upper 140's which is a long time setpoint for me and a weight that I am ok with, generally. (The "girls" sure look better at this weight! ) SO is out of town and I'm flying to Austin to meet him on Friday. South by Southwest is going on so lots to do in Austin in my 24 hours there! We're then taking the train back to LA which should be an interesting little adventure. ![]() Anyway, happy (?) Monday everyone! Let's keep it real! ![]()
Oh, a bit of an experiment. I always wondered if Dr Simeons meant for us to drop them (and oranges) when he said "no sugar, no starch". My doubting mind feels that he would not have taken anything AWAY from the basic 500 calorie plan when transitioning to P3. I believe that he meant "no additional sugar or starch"... so I decided to try and see what happened.
Explain the potato hack, please, Shelby? What is the purpose of it? |
Potato Hack on Paleo Blogs - Anyone Doing This? A DD Hack Recipes for the potato hack Basically, it's a biohack to help you drop a few pounds, kind of like the fat fast. You eat potatoes and ONLY potatoes for 3-7 days (10 days???). You can have them prepared any way you like EXCEPT...no protein...no fat. Only non-fat toppings like vinegar are allowed. It sounds weird and strict but it's actually much easier than it sounds. People have reported a complete loss of any cravings, a sense of well-being, better sleep, more energy, improved blood glucose readings, etc. FOR ME, I found that while I did not see huge weight loss, my sensitivity to carbs was very much decreased. I could eat them and not get dinged with a 3-5 pound gain the next day. I also found that afterwards I didn't really have the cravings for sugary foods or carby foods that I once had. My weight also seemed to settle at a slightly lower consistent point after about two weeks (from 145-148 to 141-144). Finally, the first time I did it, I tested blood sugar readings and saw a DRAMATIC decrease in the impact of the potatoes on my bg which can only be a good thing. Anyway, lately I've had some sugar cravings creep up again as has my weight a bit so I thought I would try it again and see if I see anything similar. In order: Macadamias Almonds Pecans Walnuts Brazil nuts |
Here are a couple more links to my summary entries. The thread is super long so it can be a little intimidating!
![]() A DD Hack A DD Hack People actually do it for MUCH longer--sometimes up to a month at a time. Not sure I'd be able to do it for that long but I'll go for at least 2 days, possibly 3, this time around. Coffee is allowed. Cream really isn't if you're doing it "clean." I was actually ok this morning with just black coffee and sweetener. |
Still hard to eat so much after going so long not! Feeling really full from supper... zoodles with a hamburger and tomatoes sauce... was fabulous! And way more than I would normally eat any other time, since I normally stick around 1400 calories. Bah.
