I want to play!
I JUST started this for the first time- today is my first loading day and I am not in love with it. So much guilt and all that, but I hear it's worth it, so I'll give it a go.
I've already learned to stop telling people about it because then I just get told how dumb it is, how it's impossible, how horribly I'll feel, etc. I asked my friends to tell me what they had eaten that day. We counted their calories and even after dinner some of them were only at 600. So this will be a test I do on naysayers now- have them tell me what they ate so they can see how much a 2,000 calorie day really is. Anyway- I look forward to some progress. After trying it all (like I'm sure all like everyone else) I could use a little hope and motivation. If it takes 3 weeks of drops and low calories, I'll take it! Thanks, everyone, for being around for support! |

Welcome sac1drl! We can do it! Even on a day when everyone around us is eating all kinds of sweets!
And - I don't believe your friends were only at 600 cal. eating normally. It's really hard to stay that low! |

Cheryl's; sounds yummy, I will be trying that. I have home canned tomatoes I can use too! Thanks for posting.
Agee; I lost 60 pounds on hcg a few years ago and I gain so fast and easy it is ridiculous! I gained 22 pounds from may to dec., while eating mostly clean and working out 6 days a week! Menopause and being 47 really make hard to lose at all... Which explains why I am back but hopefully with a long term mindset, and not just a diet this time. |

Okay - so you guys, something really unpleasant just happened. I might post on the main board to get input.
About 3 hours ago I got incredibly anxious. Like panic-attack anxious. I have mild anxiety sometimes accompanying menstrual cycle issues, and I have some stressful stuff going on, but this was really out of the ordinary and not triggered by anything. I wasn't hungry, but I really really felt like if I ate something I would feel better. I ate about 1/2 cup of this leftover casserole I made for my family last night AND my panic/anxiety feeling went away. I am kind of bummed that I cheated, but I am also wondering if the calorie drop or drop in seratonin from changing eating habits caused the freaked out feeling? I still feel it a little bit but nowhere near the way I felt before. I used to feel like this 10 years ago when I was in the midst of my gluten intolerance and hadn't yet been diagnosed, which is probably why it occurred to me to eat something. Then, it had a lot to do with blood sugar fluctuations. I didn't feel hypoglycemic, however, just really anxious. Thoughts? I'm done eating for the day now. If I can't stay on plan at least I'll stay w/in my calorie range. A |

Is there gluten in the casserole you ate while anxious? Might have been a kind of withdrawal thing. Too much coffee? No idea. Glad you feel better now. Hope you can figure it out so it doesn't keep happening.

I posted in the main thread.
I'm kind of bummed about going off plan. Tomorrow is another day! Hopefully it won't have too terrible of ramifications! |

Sac1drl;
the loading is rough and isn't it strange how fast you get full and how little you want to eat of fattening foods when you have permission? Hang in there and eat lots of healthy fats it will help with hunger the first week.I don't tell anyone about the hcg, just say I am off processed foods and eating low cal and low fat. This protocol is too involved for people to Understand without hours of research and reading these boards. Once they see how fast you are slimming they will be begging to know your secret... Then you can send them here! ![]()

Agee; so sorry to hear of your problem today. Not sure what it could be but you could try to space your food out more throughout the day to keep your blood sugar level even. Hope you feel better soon.

I'm the same way about hcg...after my first round, I told anyone and everyone who asked all about hcg and how fabulous it was....then the fda put out all of the bad press (which still makes no sense to me), and so now, if someone asks, I also say that I am not eating anything processed, no fat, low cal, etc... I don't have time to deal with their criticisms or doubts. |

Mum's the word here! It's nobody's business but my own. I told my sister because she and I are in this battle of the bulge together and she knows how I like to do this diet or that diet. She's just a hard core "count your calories and exercise" gal. You can't persuade her to consider anything else. Maybe I'll show her by example how great hhcg can be, when done diligently.
Diligence! Something we could all use a lot or a little of. Maybe a little can turn into a lot, if we water it and tend it like we would a house plant. (Was tending to my house plants today. Excuse my metaphor.) ![]() Took my first dose of pellets tonight at 2100. The loading has begun. ![]()

Happy to see VLCD#2 bring me another good loss, down 2.4! So from my 7 pound load gain I only have .2 left to start the "real" releasing. Had 536 cal. Yesterday and drank a gallon of water. Hunger was less than the first day but I did wake up with a cramp in my calf last night. I think we might need to take potassium because drinking so much water flushes it out of out bodies, anyone know if that sounds right? Happy to see we have a supportive group starting on this thread, how is everyone else doing today? |

Despite my off-plan deviance yesterday I did not go up - or down - on the scale this morning, thank goodness! I'm going to be 100% back on plan today and if the anxiety thing happens again I'll do some breathing exercises and see if I can just take care of it naturally.
It was scary! But I also want to lose the weight. I think it also might be menstrual-cycle related. It has happened before - between ovulation and getting my period - but yesterday it was just really, really strong. OR I can always take a Xanax! So - on plan today! I am planning on fasting through 12:30 or so then having some P2 chili for lunch. I am having my black coffee right now and don't feel hungry at all. It's really great. Great day to everyone! |

Agee, sounds like a good plan. I hope you can figure it out. This protocol is a real eye opener to how we use food to deal with things... I have had panic attacks before and they are scary. I use to grab a notebook and write about whatever was stressing me at the moment and it helped to focus my mind on the writing and not on the anxiety.
I am off to take a nap, detox headache is rearing its ugly head... Anyone know if a soak in a hottub or sauna helps? Our bathtub is too small to enjoy an Epsom and bs soak. ![]() |

That's good to hear about the headache and hunger leaving, I hope mine does... I've got some body aches too. I went to the y this morning and did 15 min. On cross trainer and walked 2 miles, hope that wasn't too much too soon. I have been working out regularly so suppose to be okay.

I don't know if you remember me, but a year or so ago, I was on here when I first did hcg and lost 60 pounds and then as I struggled with p3. You were always so helpful and I am happy to see you are still at it! Looks like you have kept your weight off for a long time now! but, no excuses, just finally ready to do this again after several false starts, and trying to have a better mindset about it this time...![]() |

I am paying for my deviance the other day, as I've been the exact same weight for 3 days in a row, but I am so relieved not to have gained that I'm pretty happy!
Today will be a day of drinking a lot of water. I feel a little tight in my skin, so maybe I've actually dropped fat and now my cells are filling up w/water as a placemaker. Wish me luck with the water drinking - I am driving 2 hours to do a presentation then 2 hours back on rural roads and I hope to find places to stop to pee along the way! A |

Good luck to us all Agee---I don't know what to say about starting up potassium. I started once I got the cramps. I just wanted everyone to know that you ARE allowed to have more than the bottle says Of course YMMV

Agee: so sorry to hear you haven't dropped any weight... Hopefully you will have a whoosh tomorrow. I know any little deviance from protocol can cause you to lose several days of progress, so drink up and cross your fingers for a place to potty!
![]() ![]() Dawn: I hate to hear you had trouble maintaining, I did too... Before I just gave up on fighting it I was gradually seeing the scale go up and just could not get a handle on it... But we know this works so if at first you don't maintain... Try, try again! ![]() |

Dropped 1.2 overnight! Yahoo!
Week 1 total: -7.2 I'll take it! Especially with my casserole transgression I am really, really hoping this coming week will be at least a -5. I'd very much like to get under 180. For many, many years my set weight was 172, and even though I wasn't happy with it I could really stay there no matter what I ate or what exercise I did. But then I started creeping up, up, up, and right before I started hcg the 1st time around and then the past year or so, when I gained back, my new set weight was 183. I'm only 5.3.5", so you can imagine that it doesn't sit very pretty. Anyhoo, getting into the 170s will be a very positive thing for me. I'm doubting I'll get below 170 this round, since it will be short. But I'm already counting the days until my next round! I can do it! A |

Way to go Agee! With a whoosh like that you must be thrilled! I am setting my hopes at 20 pounds for a 40 day round, if I can go that long since I am on inj. I would love more, but honestly be happy with whatever I can release since nothing else works for me anymore. Today is vlcd #5 and I am down 8.4 but gained 7 loading, so just 1.4 real weight. ![]() Last edited by sanderk1; 02-17-2013 at 11:12 AM.. |

Agee--I am your same exact height. Pretty soon everyone in my family will be taller than me. My daughter is only 11 years old and is already 5'2". She is going to be tall--5'8" is waht the doc says. I wish I were that tall--then I could eat more. LOL. At my height even 5 pounds shoots me out of a pants size. I cannot wear many in my closet so I am wearing the same ones all the time. I just cannot bring myself to buy anymore. I have 5 lbs to lose and I will fit into my pants more comfortably.
So far--I have dropped 1.2 lbs. That is awful for the first week. I usually drop like 5 lbs the first day or so in the first week. I am very disappointed, but soldiering on. I cannot quit now! I hope that I have a whoosh real soon. |

I bet that's really frustrating, Dawn.
I've followed your journey as I've gone on and off this plan and I'm wondering if you've ever considered that your low is just too low? I don't mean to be nosy or presumptuous or anything like that, but I haven't weighed 115 since 5th grade or something, but maybe you're smaller framed than me. I feel like I looked best when I was about 135. I tend to be muscular, though, and even though I say 135 I haven't weighed that in 20 years...so who really knows? I just don't want to weight THIS weight. Or 10 lbs less, or even 10 lbs less than that. But it also has to be a sustainable weight, kwim? A p.s. oh - and thanks for the detox suggestion. I think you're right, but I think there's also some PMS thing going on, too. So combined it was not very pretty. |

Yeah, I am stubborn that way though LOL. Everyone tells me I should be happy with where I am but I am not! I got to my low before, so I believe I can do it again. I just have to keep trying. I know I can do it, I just have to do it. I want to be skinny again, I just don't want to work that hard to maintain it. Or maybe I just don't think I can in the back of my mind. I don't know......but I feel I should give it another go. If I can only get 10 lbs off than that is Ok. But I DO know I cannot stay where I am currently. I have no clothing!!! So I will see where the next 21 days take me and just go from there. If it goes as it does these first 2 days I am in for it!!! I may pack it up early if I don't see better losses. But if the inches are going and not lbs, I would be OK with that. I want to fit into my clothing!
