Kat: that is the issue. She doesn't feel like losing weight or dieting is healthy, so she will fight it. Since she will only be here for 2-4 days, is rather gain a few lbs and have to lose it again, than to ruin the whole visit. She is the type that thinks a meal from McDonald's consists of 3 quarter pounders, large fries, large sweet tea, and a large shake and then she eats 2-3 hours later. Doing salads before meals will cause enough fights, there is no way to completely avoid her food without it causing this huge family uproar. She will see me as being unfair and unhealthy to my body and rejecting her if I don't eat some of her meals.

ACV is apple cider vinegar.

------

Jabbok: thanks for clarifying. 5-10 lbs I could live with (even though it would suck) because I'm pretty confident I could lose it in the following three weeks after she leaves. I think I'd die if it was over 10.

-----

I may monitor my weight while she is here, and if it starts getting out of control I will claim I am feeling sick and just want like grilled chicken and broth or something and have fruit or a salad when she is Taking a shower or whatever. I know I can't do it the whole trip, but maybe for a day or two.

Lost 1.1 lbs as of today's weigh in!!

Having shrimp with Cajun seasoning for lunch with a salad.

Today, I am trying my drops instead of pellets. I found it difficult to keep them under my tongue. Any tips? Will this mess up the results?

Ok. up again. Back to what I was 4 days ago. The scale is definitely going in the wrong direction. I took small amounts (like 0.5-1oz) of ACV 3 times yesterday, which may have ended up being slightly more than I took when I just measured out a single shot. TOM is approx 5 days away according to my little phone app. The only other thing different is that I did not sleep well. I was so tired but then tossed and turned and think my only solid sleep was between 1a-3a. My best loss was this past weekend and I KNOW I slept enough then. During the work week my sleep tends to suffer more (and it doesn't help that I have a weird case of insomnia and can only take my Rx sleep medication on weekends or I won't be able to function).

How much sleep do you guys tend to need on average to keep the losses going?

Congrats to all of you! Looking at your losses is encouraging for me!

I go to bed around midnight, it normally takes an hour or two to fall asleep. The alarm goes off at 5 for my husband and I return to bed around 6:15. Takes anywhere from 30 mins to 2 hours to fall asleep. Wake up for the day when the baby wakes up between 10 and 11.

I work evenings, so I'm lucky that I can catch up on sleep during the morning or else I would be screwed.

If the gain is from lack of sleep, it will come off when you start sleeping again. I had this issue last week or earlier this week and it came right back off when I went back to my normal schedule.

Edit: make sure you are drinking plenty of water and eating ALL of the protein.

TOM may also be the cause, so it will go down when your body returns to normal

Weighed in today, down 0.5 lbs

Very sick (bad cold, I think) and did something stupid. I took a cough drop before thinking about it. Sure enough there is sugar in it. I hope it doesn't stall me or make me gain. I took it right after weighing in, so I guess we will find out tomorrow. I think I will skip fruit today and hope that skipping the natural sugars in them will help keep my weight on track. Thoughts? Experience?

Keep your fingers crossed for me.

I'm up another 0.6 today. my husband has been sick and so we didn't eat until late last night (a couple hours later than normal). I'm hoping that plus the fact that TOM is a couple days away is why. I'm going to try to increase my water because I know I'm all bloated feeling. Bleh. I need a whoosh!

Friday

Hello Ladies,
Well, I am down a 1/2 lb. I will take it!.
On my way home yesterday, I get a text from my sister. My mother had a heart attack. within 5 hrs, she was in recovery from having a stint put in. 100% blockage.
I ask, WHY did her doctor not realize that? I mean, she's 81. At the Dr's at least once a month. If she was a man they would have found that long time ago. I just get irritated at the health care for women.

okay, off my high horse. since I will be travelling about 3 1/2 hrs to get to my mother, I wil not be on the boards for a few days.
good luck to all !

LOL, mine is 6'5 and while he used to be 160 he's now gained up to 220 since he quit smoking 4 years ago. He needs to understand his eating has to slow down and not be all carb now!!!

Sometimes life happens and we just have to live/deal with our choices. Since your mom will be here for only a few days, just do what you can. If you eat a dumpling or 2....so be it. You will not die from it. You will gain a bit, but not a whole lot. And if you do???? You can get it back off!! No worries. Just enjoy your time together and the weight loss can wait a few days. When I have had indiscretions on P3 I will hop back to P2 in a heartbeat because I know that the weight will FALL off very easily. It is not comparable to cheating while on P2. The gains are caused by water and therefore it will come off quickly. Cheating in P2 causes stalls for up to a week! Not so in an interruption. If you stay in P3 then the need for constant correction days will drive you mad. I say, relax and have fun with your mom. Hop back onto P2 when she is gone and continue doing P2 til you are done doing it. Good luck hon Dealing with family should not be so hard, but I understand

Kat: sorry to hear that!

Dawn: thanks! I agree, family visits shouldn't be so difficult. I figured I'd do P2 for a minimum of 3 weeks after they leave. If I need to go a week or two longer, I'll just have to order more HCG. At least the breakfast meals will be on track while she is here (eggs and bacon) better than nothing I guess

Bulletproof coffee is coffee blended with coconut oil and grass fed butter. Some just use the coconut oil and omit the butter. It's delicious when you blend it up. It gets creamy as if you added dairy.

Also, WOW...you look great in your avatar!

I can't believe I've made it 13 days so far. :P I was 194.6 the day before I started loading, so, the weight loss is rather pathetic, in my opinion. I'm sticking it out the 21 days on principle, but I sure won't do another round, when I know I lose weight as fast or faster, on a normal low carb and healthy eating plan. Bah!

Avy, I feel that ANY loss is a good loss.

I have lost another .5 lbs! This last week is always my slow week. I am hoping by doing low carb the next 3 weeks helps. BUt Easter is my downfall. I am a chocoholic.

My mother, she is doing well. She has to stop smoking and lose the salt shaker. I think she is more upset by the low salt than the smoking. Since my brother is a chef and lives with them, I am hoping he can make some healthy and delicious meals for her without the salt.

It was hard going doing this diet at my mothers. always, cookies, candy and such laying around. Nope. not one. although I did have to eat 2 deviled eggs, because there was nothing in the fridge I could eat. And always the EAT more!. right.

It's nice to see other people jon us. Welcome and I look forward to hearing about everyones issues
Thanks for listening to mine

Sorry I wasn't on the computer at all this weekend. Total technology hiatus. The up and down is killing me! I was so excited to see the 4 lb whoosh on Saturday morning, only to gain the next 2 days. I slept good over the weekend but then BAM- no sleep last night and TOM graced me with her presence early this morning. My husband is somewhat supportive but thinks I'm crazy for doing a diet this low in calories (he's tall and thin and never had to worry a day in his life about losing). He knows that I have to be committed for 23 days minimum and he's counting down the days to when I am low carb again. I mentioned that I could always do another round to see if I can get down some more, to which he replied over his dead body. lol
I think he's as miserable as I am.

Don't get me wrong. I'm glad to see 12 lbs off so far. I just wish the losing was more consistent.

How are you guys today?

Been stalled for a couple of days at 123.2 lbs

Getting closer to goal so I guess I was bound for a stall and small losses

I plotted my weight loss results over the last week and it went up 2 pounds over the course of a week. Now I'm really discouraged. Shouldn't there at least be a downward trend overall? I'm not cheating. I'm ALWAYS starving. My usual dosing schedule is 3 pellets three times a day but about once a week (a weekend day) I only get 2 doses in- usually because I slept in a little or am out and about running errands an extended portion of the day. Should I be taking a higher dose? Or just wait until after TOM and see if things get better?
Anyone on this thread been doing this more that 1 round? Help?

From what I have read, try DECREASING the dosage first. Often times, less is more with HCG. Try 3, 2, 3 and see if that helps some.

If TOM is around, you should always wait atleast 3 days until it's over, before you enter P3, even if that means extending a round...is the advice I've read over and over on my facebook support group. Any hormone fluctuations can really screw up the weight loss, or hide it.

Also, CO seems to be a real problem for me on protocol. Sometimes vitamins and additives in them will really affect people. I dunno, except that I understand the frustrations.

Happy to say the week long stall seems to be gone now that I dropped the CO most people seem to be able to use with wild abandon!

Who knows, you may have such fantastic results now that you've cut the CO that you may come back for another round or stretch this one out!
