Hormonal surges

Ok, I've scrolled through numerous posts and really haven't seen anyone talk about the hormonal upheaval these pills can bring.

I've been on the pellets for four days now. My emotional levels are off the charts. I should say also that I am menopausal and have virtually no issues with menopause really except for night sweats and headaches from time to time.

Since being on these pellets (HCG), my mood swings have been ridiculously off the charts. It's like the worst case of PMS I've ever had.

Has anyone had anything like this? I read a bunch of information on the internet about HCG and the side effects and some did complain of hormonal changes/PMS symptoms.

I'd like to know if anyone else has had these problems and if they go away.

Thanks!

Im so sorry!! I can say that because I too have the mood swings on hcg so i honestly "know how you feel!" A few things have helped Julia Ross, author of the diet cure and the mood cure, suggests various amino acid therapy. I read -and reread her books and the solutions have worked wonderfully for me! Before that I would cry - did not have to have a reason! Check out her books, hope that helps!

Oh thank goodness! I thought I was the only one this was happening to! I will check out her books! Thanks for the help!

Thank you for the information and admitting to emotional upheavals too. I was wondering if no one wanted to admit to having these symptoms!

This is actually quite common with weight loss in general and the faster the weight loss, the more severe the problem. Our fat stores a huge amount of hormones, including our favorites, estrogen and testosterone. As we lose the weight, those hormones are released into the blood stream. They can show up as mood swings and menstrual cycle issues for people who are still cycling and an increase in menopausal symptoms for those who are not. Taking Resveratrol can help (it's an estrogen binder in some cases) and there are other herbs that can help decrease the symptoms.

Thanks, Shelby! It's good to know I am not really crazy I sure felt like I was going crazy!

I work in the nutritional supplement field and haven't known Resveratrol to work for PMS symptoms. I will talk to my scientist here at work and ask him if this will be good for me too. Then I am going to ask my formulators here to whip me up a batch of B6, Calcium, Magnesium, Chasteberry and Vitamin E. I know these things work for my PMS symptoms. I love having the benefit of working for a company that can whip me up some pill for some malady!

Minerals seem to really help me along with B vitamins. I know you can also take some other herbs but I stick with the basics normally. I was extremely curious to find out if anyone else had any symptoms.

Thanks for your help Shelby, you are a fountain of information and awesome!

Great plan! How lucky! Your job sounds fantastic! Now I realize why you will love the Julia Ross books!! I have had great luck with L-Tyrosine for energy, GABA for sleep, Relora for stress/anxiety. AKA - mood swing!
Keep up the great work!

I think that taking the drops along with some natural HRT supplements caused me to have a very heavy period. I may say that at age 58, that was very unexpected. (had to have a D&C) Been off both for over a year, but plan on starting the Pellets soon. Do you think it was the drops and or the HRT as well? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

I am on HRT (estradiol and progesterone). I've reduced my estradiol since starting the protocol 33 days ago with no impact on mood, and now my sleep is more normal. I think I have benefited from more estrogen from my fat stores being released into my system. I had tried to reduce estradiol once before and had a horrible time with mood, energy and sleep (I've been on 5 years). I'm wondering if the hhcg has made it easier? I'm losing the the average weight for women: .5lbs per day on balance. Hoping I will remain stable after stopping the protocol. I've kept good notes so we'll see!

It's a combination of the estrogen released from your fat by the diet and the HRT supplements, NOT the h/hCG. The hCH hormone itself is not the culprit--it's the rapid fat release and the accompanying release of stored estrogen from the fat. If you're planning to start again, I would probably decrease the natural HRT supplement to compensate for the fat loss then pick it back up when you are done with the weight loss part of the protocol. Not a doctor--just my 2 cents.

Shelby, my panel says that I can not have a signature. Is there another option? I would love to follow my progress like you are.
