Not losing anymore
I'm in P2. Lost 10 pounds in 14 days and 5 pounds in the last 20 days. The losses got stagnant and slow but I was hoping to see an increase. Isn't happening. I still want to lose 12 pounds to get to goal and back to the weight I was after doing hcg a year ago. Gained 30 pounds with bad choices.
It is looking to me like at this rate I will not lose the 12 pounds in this round. It seems I would be smarter to do a P3 and do another round and hope the 12 come off. Has anyone else had a similar situation? Thoughts anyone? |

I guess holding out for a bit isn't gonna hurt. It is frustrating going for so long and only losing 5 pounds. Maybe it will pick up. In looking back at my last round I see it took me 30 days to lose that last 10 pounds. If I could lose 10 pounds in the next 30 days I would be happy with that. I'm just concerned that I may lose 5 pounds in the next 20 days again.
I was thinking that if I lost another 5 pounds this round and it just drags on forever, and if I had to stop and do another round, that would leave me with only 5-7 pounds to lose in a new round. And that would make a very short round. So if I broke out now that would make my next round a little longer. I am not crazy about short rounds as it is easier to maintain with longer rounds. Does that make sense? |
My losses suck after 3 weeks. I did 6 weeks the first round, completely not worth the last 3 (about 3 lbs total the last 3 weeks), and 4 weeks my second round. I'm so grateful to have found HCG, but I will only ever do 21 days again (if I do one more round - and I don't have more than 10 to lose!). Some of us... that's how it goes. Who knows why. Age, amount needing to be lost, I don't know.
To me, it's better to do a nice P3/P4 and start up the FAST losses again. And I have maintained just fine. |
I think I will hang in there for at least this week to see how it is going. I see in my last round it took me 30 days to lose about 10 pounds. If I don't see some sort of faster loss I will have to end it for now.

I'm still obsessing over this slow losses thing. :stars: I think I have made up my mind to just stick it out. The last round I did for 80 days. And I guess if that's what it takes I can do it.

I know that Dr Simeons said in the original manuscript that he didn't see many losses after 40 days, so that is why he limits the diet to 40 days or 34 lbs or goal met, whichever comes first. Maybe your body needs a good P3 and P4 to reset itself.

Sometime during week 3 or 4 most people will stall. Often for a week. If you don't cheat and hang on you'll probably have a few really nice whooshes in week 4 or 5.
It is very, very common to stall at this time. Your body is adjusting and is holding on to some water to flush out old fat cells. |
I'm at day 30 and I only weigh once a week. I decided that once a week I will measure (on Sunday), and weigh (on Monday). Well, it's a good thing I measured, because I lost 3.5 INCHES, but NO WEIGHT. Well, 0.2, but really nothing to speak of. If I hadn't measured, I would be super depressed right now, because I've been pretty by the book (I've done other rounds with success, I'm not new, and I know the protocol well, but never really had what I would call a stall).
I don't believe in "apple" days or correction days for that matter (I have a binge eating disorder and some view correction days as simply a "purge" after doing something wrong, and I won't do that to myself at this point). So, no apple day, but 3.5 inches gone instead. I'll take it!!!!! There is more to this than the scale! |
Sherrymyra - I totally empathize with you, as I am going through the same thing right now. :console: I lost a whopping 10 pounds my first week and since then it has been s.l.o.w. I did an apple day two days ago and lost 1.8 the day after. Then I went back to regular P2 and had a gain of 0.2 the next day. This is what I was doing before the apple day: gaining 0.2, losing 0.2, losing nothing, repeat. I've been eating pretty much the same thing in P2 and I'm wondering if I would have better losses if I switched up the protein or veggies or something, or maybe I should do some cardio. I feel like I'm doing something "wrong" when I know I am following protocol. It's very frustrating :dunno: Kateenie's post is something to think about, though. I have had in the bak of my mind that even though the scale isn't moving, my pants definitely feel looser, so she is right in that we are both probably losing inches even though the scale is stagnant. That's what I'm choosing to hold onto right now, anyway. As long as I'm not starving it's easier to keep going, but when I get hungry the doubts creep back in big time. I'm on VLCD17 so need to keep going a few more days anyway. I'll have to make a decision after that.
Kateenie - You make very valid points and have given me some hope that I'm still shrinking even though the scale is not moving. My husband has been making comments about how slim I'm looking and my clothes are fitting differently, so changes are happening. Thanks for giving me another perspective :goodpost: Roscoe |

This is what happened to me this morning - stayed about the same last week and was down about 2 lbs. this morning ! |
Thanks for posting that, Mojo. It's very encouraging to me and helps me to hang on.

Another thought...if you have been at a certain weight for a significant time, your body may have developed a "set point". No matter what I do, I cannot get under 150 lbs. I spent most of my adult life overweight and 150 was my lowest from another diet, Medifast. I am struggling the last few days of R4 so I know what you are going thru. Hang in there, remember that HCG is the most effective way to lose quickly. Can't beat it with anything other than surgery.
|
I'm hanging in there. Can't give up yet. I guess if I can lose 5 pounds in 20 days it's still better than a normal diet where you might lose 1 pound a week.
|
Good for you. I just ended round 4 with a very disappointing 14 lb loss. For some reason I had been down 17, but have had a 3 lbs gain...looking at my stats, I haven't gone to the bathroom for over a week! Yikes, I must be full of .....! Will have to do some tea to get things moving. I quit 2 days early from this 40 day round due to my "need" for fat. Rounds 2 and 4 have been difficult and I did RX injections. I just think my 60 year old body has just said "enough". (must be talking to my husband!) In retrospect, I couldn't have lost that on other plans. P3 and P4 will be Atkins and Paleo. No grains, sugar, starch, legumes. My tummy suffers from Crohns and the P2 has settled things down...live and learn!

Sherrymyra - Are you still hanging in there? I finally lost two days in a row :jumpjoy:

I'm still hanging in there. In the last 9 days I have lost a whopping 2.6 pounds. I still need to lose 6-7 more but I guess it's moving in the right direction. I can't see ending this round and having to do another round to lose 6 pounds.
Last round it took me 18 days to lose 5.6 pounds. So I guess this round isn't far off. I can do it. |
Honestly I would really like to lose about 10 more to get back to where I was before I went stupid and gained 30 pounds back. I ended the last round and JUDDED the last 5 or so off and will go back to JUDD after this round too.
