I peeled the orange, orange peel is too bitter. I was so full after that drink, I'm going to have another one for breakfast!

I have a Vitamix (with just one blade and two speeds--the most basic one you can buy) and I LOVE it! I tried making my green smoothies with regular blenders and they just didn't cut it (no pun intended!).

The Vitamix really blends the veggies and fruits well, and it is a warhorse. I burned out my first Oster blender, and the second one I purchased (had a metal base) was so piercingly loud we all had to cover our ears when we used it!

I use this blender twice a day, have had it for years, and it has more than paid for itself. I found it to be a great investment.

Best of luck with whatever you choose!

I have to chime in here if anyone is still reading this thread! The Blendtec is without a doubt the best blender I have owned! I have owned all of the others, 2 vita-mix, cuisinart, starbucks, oster, ninja, revile, - now my nieces are all proud owners of the above! The vitamix was too bulky and burnt out so i really only had one setting. The second vita -mix had all pre sets and was good but loud. The Blendtec is very appealing to look at but also works incredibly well! i can make mayonaisse in seconds, the green smoothie for hcg p2 comes out delicious!
JMHO!

Thanks for posting about the Blendtec as I am going to purchase one soon so now I have 2 options.

How is the noise level compared to the Vitamix?

You are so welcome! The noise level is really nice - quiet! This is the brand that was in all of the Seattle's Best Coffee and the Borders stores. The prices are good - less than vitamix but I think that is because they dont do the same branding/marketing. they also allow for 3 paments - Oh - dont forget to look at each site for refurbished blenders - they are always just as good in my experiences, and a less $

I have the Nutribullet and my mom has the Vitamix. I salivate when I am at her house but I do love my blender... Way better than my magic bullet. I got mine at Walmart for under $100.

Costco in Canada has the Blendtec on sale for $360 for the combo pack it comes with 2 containers plus the 8 year warranty so I may purchase this one as the Vitamix are between $500 & $700, I just have to make sure which one I want as I won't be buying another one until it dies.

It was easy to convince my boyfriend when I showed him some demos about making flour, frozen desserts and nut butters. There was no struggle after that. He loves cooking, so it really opened up some possibilities for him.

My dh `s idea of cooking is picking up the phone and ordering a pizza .

That is nice that your boyfriend likes to cook and was on board for the purchase. I guess you haven't tried making flour yet, I would like to use it to make almond flour as it`s so expensive.

Ya, no flour for me yet...lots of sorbet though! It's so nice to end the day with a heaping bowl of fruit sorbet with zero guilt attached.

Thanks booty, I made strawberry sorbet today. It was so delish.

I went to my local Costco today and they were selling the Vitamix on the shelf (no roadshow) for $375. I don't know if its available in every Costco nor do I know how long they will have them. Usually they sell them only at the roadshows.

I'm in Sacramento, CA. You'll just have to check with your local Costco, but I haven't seen them selling on the shelf here for at least ten years and now they have them again.

I will definitely take a look the next time I go to Costco (maybe this weekend). I am tending more towards the Blendtec due to size limitations, though.

They have the Blendtec online for $360.00 I think I will buy that one and try it it's quite a bit cheaper then the Vitamix and you can return anything to Costco if you don't like it.
