Jabbock, you just put soap and water in it and run it for 30 seconds. Then rinse, voila!

The 5200, Total Nutrition Center is most commonly sold.

Some models include the grains container but you will pay about $100 more if you want the grains container. It's great to have if you make things with whole grains...you can make flour from just about any grain (wheat berries, rice, oats, corn) you can make powdered sugar from granulated. I've done that a few times in a pinch.
Most of us probably wouldn't use that feature so make sure you check the model number so you aren't paying for something you won't use. At the Costco road show you can purchase the Vitamix with or without the dry grain container. |

I really want the grains container.
The package I'm getting from my neighbour includes... 64oz wet container with a free 32 oz wet container. I'm also getting a grain container from her used (demo version for an additional $50). The containers are expensive, they usually retail for about $180! Yikes. |

Thank you, everyone! I would really prefer to buy in the US since it's so much cheaper. I'll check periodically for a road show in Bellingham!! I doubt I'd use the grains container, so will go for the other one if and when I find a road show state-side.

I'm having the p2 chocolate spinach smoothie for lunch right now. Would I make this if I wasn't on p2? No; but on p2, it's the most amazing thing ever. Yumm!

3 oz spinach
4 oz frozen strawberries 1 cup cold water 3 oz cottage cheese 2 pks stevia I T cocoa powder (optional) Just vitamix it all up I used the cocoa and it tasted like a chocolate smoothie. I also substituted packaged stevia for two droppers liquid glycerite stevia. Can't taste the spinach at all Last edited by Felina; 02-01-2013 at 01:38 PM.. |

Oh, I've done this one with just the spinach and strawberries and yes, I agree.. It's wonderful. And you feel so virtuous.

The Vitamix is so powerful that it will start heating the food in a short while so I make sure that I use frozen strawberries and ice cold water from the refrigerator when making the smoothie. That way I can run it enough to get the consistency I want and it is still ice cold to drink

My Magic Bullet makes a smooth one.. but I did read somewhere to put the spinach in the blender *first*, then the frozen strawberries on top along with the milk and water etc.
