Hi all, Been MIA due to crazy work schedule. I'm so bummed out. I have been up and down between 156 and 156.6 for FIVE DAYS! I have not changed a thing! Still weighing and measuring, and 500 calories (or even less!) per day. Been drinking gallons of water. Occasionally have a tbs of unsweetened cocoa in my coffee and sometimes mix in some celery with greens. I had a splurge yesterday and had 3/4 cup of broccoli (gave me heartburn!)

Some days I'm not even hungry for the fruit after dinner. I have had some veggie broth that wasn't low sodium... I just think it's my body holding on...I am 2lbs under my lowest weight in like 7 years so maybe it's just a temporary plateau.

I have 9 days left of a 40 day protocol and then 2 no drop days of VLC. I was so hoping to break into 149.9

I am not giving up though... and I DO recognize that this is going to change. I WILL get back to losing if I stay the course!

Thinking about doing an apple day tomorrow? Any thoughts?

dooy---stalls will happen if you have been at this weight for a long, long time. I had no issues when I did the apple day and I DO recommend them for stalls, just as Dr Simeons says to do them. I do well, they are easy (what could be easier than nothing but apples for 24 hours???!!) and I continue losing when done with them. So you can do 1, but I know of others here who discourage them. So do what you are comfortable doing. Just remember that Dr S put them in protocol for a reason!! For me--they work!!! Reason enough for me to do one!

Good luck!!!!!!

I'm not sure of the answer to your question and I didn't see your post come up yesterday so i'm not sure why that is but i see no one else has answered you either. Are you in P3?

Down less than a lb today which isn't very exciting considering I'm still in my first week.

I wonder if the pain meds are to blame? I took a Vicodin for my tooth pain yesterday. I'm having more work done today, so I may need to take more.

I also have an icky cold, runny nose, sore throat but I hesitate to take anything for that b/c I know that stuff is laden with sugar.

Any recs on what to take for a cold that won't cause me issues?

So far I've lost 3 lbs if you don't consider my loading weight and today is VLCD4. Not as good as past rounds but on a positive note, I'm not starving like I was in R2. That was awful.

I have been taking pain meds occasionally as well. I take Vicuprofen for headaches. I don't know if they affect my losses, but I have been taking them as rarely as possible.

My problem has been my cycle. I had a loss this morning of .6 lb, but I am ovulating and feel bloated. Does anyone know if you usually make up for the weight you didn't lose during ovulation and TOM, or do you just continue to lose the same after.

I am hoping for a really big loss in the next couple of days.

Normally, I have a huge swing of about 5 lbs during my cycle. I am really curious to see what happens during this phase 2. I hope you will all keep me from jumping off a cliff in 14 days!

I have issues with my cycle too. I always stall during my period and then have a 1-2lb loss when it's over. I also think I may slow down while ovulating but I'm not sure.

I do believe that the pain meds are causing some retention and what not but I needed them.

My cycle has slowed me to a crawl this week. It's normal. In the past, my losses have picked up considerably afterwards. I'm going to my doctor today, so I'll see if I lost any body fat even if the scale is being stubborn.

Speaking of cycles, I've had mine twice this round first time between Vlcd 9-12 then again 2 weeks later. Seriously!! I want to carry on until next week February 14, but I've added the "as long as" I don't get another cycle. It definitely slows my losses. I think I'd be discouraged with 3 in one round. I forgot to mention that I started the round after my cycle too. My body is just spitting out those eggs!!LOL

Morning releasers! down .9 today for a total of 3.5 since starting this round. I'm very pleased with that and today is vlcd4. Here's my menu: grilled shrimp with an hhcg friendly asian slaw and tossing my apple into that, grilled steak with grilled romaine, strawberry sorbet, lots of water, vitamins and 15k steps on my fitbit. No hunger here at all.

Sounds like a delicious day, Walkingwoman!

I had coffee with cocoa powder (I don't do it often, but PMS is making me want chocolate).

For lunch, a chicken "taco salad". It's really just chicken in mexican spices on a bed of spinach with cilantro and lime and a small amount of tomato (mixing veggies...bad girl).

Dinner is to be determined, but I'll probably make a soup because it's freezing!

I'll probably experiment with another vitamix sorbet tonight as well. (Even though it's freezing!)

All I've had to today is coffee (with a bit of cocoa) Some tea and I"m eating my Turkey Burger for lunch right now. It hurts so bad to eat but I need to and it's not like I can go get a milk shake or something. (But that would hurt too, even liquids are causing trouble.

I won't be able to eat for a while after the dentist b/c of novacane so If I can squeeze in a grapefruit before I leave I will.

I hate the dentist. Did I mention that yet?

So proud of you for the no diet coke. I have been off of DC for over a year now, and I am convinced that it has helped my overall health situation. This is such a big deal, and I know it might be hard some days, but after a while you won't even miss it. I am also saving a ton of money by not buying any soda.

Sorry you are feeling bad. That on top of tooth troubles.

When I was sick on P2, I would do chicken broth and add: cayenne pepper, powdered not the flakes; garlic, crushed a clove or so. That will help with any infection, my doctor "prescribes" this whenever her patients get sick. As for medicines......check out any cold meds for diabetics. They are sugar free. I have used TheraFlu for diabetics. TheraFlu is my go-to medicine for when I have a cold and it is THE BEST bar none so I am very happy to have found it in a sugar free version. And you are experiencing inflammation from the throat, from the dental work. So you have a triple threat to your weight. Boy, you really know how to start a round Good going!!

Hope you feel better soon

You know what I can't wait for? Going shopping for new clothes when I am done with Round 2 and have met my goal. Going to start saving up now. My plan is to hit the thrift store for new clothes if I need them before I have met my goal, but then when I have met the goal, to go and spend some money on a new wardrobe. That will be so much fun!

Best reward for weight loss ever is buying nice new SMALLER clothing! After being stuck in Maternity clothing for 6 months post partum going shopping after my first round was the BEST!

Thanks Dawn. I didn't plan for this. I went and had cavities filled BEFORE I started so that I wouldn't have to deal with it during but Ive been having pain and so I had to go back to have them do some other thing today and if it doesn't work, lucky me is headed for a root canal. Right now the pain is gone since I have novacane from the dentist but when it wears off we'll see where I'm at!

Thanks for the rec on Theraflu, I may run out and pick some up if I can find the sugar free version (Is that something that is readily available?). It's not the worst cold in the world but my nose is runny and I feel congested. That coupled with tooth aches and I just don't feel great. My son just started in preschool and I'm pretty sure he brought this home to me (and he has it too) I have a feeling the next year or so is going to be filled with all sorts of bugs and germs (Or so I'm told) But i guess it's par for the course!

Oh yes Reddy!! School is fun--and very germ filled. My high schooler is bringing home something every day. He has not stopped coughing in weeks. All the while saying "I am not sick, I am fine. I didn't get you sick". Yeah, right!! I was a preschool teacher for a few years and the only way I got out of being sick all the time was using coconut oil. I ate 4 TBL per day while in school and NEVER got sick. It was the only thing that worked!! Once P2 is over for you, you might want to try it! I am just now getting back into it. I know that once I am up to my 3 or 4 TBL daily I will be on P2 yet again LOL.

Anyway, I think the sugar free cold remedies are in the diabetic section. I know at the Kroger, it is there. Not sure of the pharmacies like Walgreen's. They have a diabetic section---I know that--but not sure of where they would put the cold remedies for the diabetics. So you can check both spots.

Actually, I'm doing at least a 49 day round, possibly a bit more. I'd like to get down under 180, if I can go long enough (i.e. hack it that long). Some HCG groups are now saying you can stay on it as long as 99 days or 40 lbs lost, whichever comes first.

So, anyway, I've got at least 2 more weeks to lose 8.7.. that would take me to 179.9 Then maintain for a minimum of 6 weeks (I think it's supposed to be longer between R2 and R3 - have to look that up), and consider the timing for another round.....

I need help with celery on P2 - what do you do to it to make it taste somewhat decent. All it is making me do is fantasize about peanut butter. Help!

How about celery soup? use it as scoops for some sort of salad made with a protein and mustard? dice it up to make any ground meat bulkier, then use the celery as boats for the meat protein. Let me think about it and I'll be back

How about a chicken salad using chopped apples and celery and putting that in celery boats? wonder if you can roast celery? probably can.

I'm back from the doctor. It's been 5 days since I last went in. I usually go once a week, but they had scheduling issues and asked me to come 2 days early.

I had low expectations, because my scale has only gone down 2lbs since my last vist. The clinic scale also showed a 2lb loss.

But wait! There is more!

We did my body composition, as usual and I've lost 4lbs of fat...but I gained 2lbs in water. He said I've had a gain in water the last 2 visits, so it's definitely masking the true losses. It's TOM, so he's not surprised.

I was happy with that explanation.
