Walkingwoman, I wish I woke up to chirping birds. I have to deal with squawking seagulls. If I had a slingshot, I'd be outside shooting them off my roof. They start squawking at 6:00 am. It's like clockwork.

I wish I had exciting scale news, but nada. I drank so much water yesterday in attempt to move things along. Nope. Oh well. I'm coming to terms with the fact that my last two weeks might just be slow.

Welcome CJ!

If I can knock off another week like this last one, I think I will take a week interruption, then back on for another week to two weeks before p3. i need to get a minimum 5 pounds off but 10 more would be ideal for me. Now, let this be a good week

i see we are on the same track today. No water = no loss

I will say thought that my TOM seems to effect the scale before it starts, during and a litte after. So I would give myself an extra day or two for the effects of TOM to really leave your body before you believe the scale.
Yeah, yesterday I was in Rare form in the mood department. Today I seem to be more even, at least so far. BUT there's still a lot of time left in the day. I'm feeling a lot of pressure work wise and just about a lot of things that I need to be doing, yet I'm feeling lazy and don't want to do much of anything.

My period is due tomorrow and my losses have already slowed and will probably be little to none this whole next week which stinks since this is the end of my round. It almost makes doing VLCD for the next week feel like it's in vain... but I'll stick it out and hope for at least one or two more lbs before it's over.

TMB, I drink a lot of my water hot or at least warm, with a bit of lemon juice and sweetener in it. I find it goes down *much* easier that way. Also, when I do the orange julius, I tend to refill the container with water a couple of times to get all the residue left in the blender. I love my P2 OJs... lol

QuezsMom, I go to the TJ's in Bellingham and tend to make a day of it. I have my Nexus card so the border wait is almost non-existent now.. Yay!

What sorts of things are available at Whole Foods? I don't think I've ever been to one. I had no idea we had them here in the Vancouver area.. haha
That's awesome that you didn't see a real gain. I think drinking a lot of water really does help. I've been bad with my water the past few days and the scale has not been moving.

I'm on the fence about whole foods. It's good in that they have some things there that you can't get other places, and it's mostly or no, all Organic. They try and say they are GMO free but they are not at all. Many products they carry contain GMO's. They are also very expensive, ESPECIALLY the Meats and Seafood. I used to have one 5 mins from my house when I lived in Miami but now the closest one is about 20 mins away so I never really go. TJ's is better IMO but different.

I thought for sure I would have slowed down to .4 or lower by now. My TOM is coming up, so I am sure I will slow down this week.
You're doing great! I would LOVE at least one more morning where I wake up to 1lb or more loss. But with TOM coming tomorrow, I'm not counting on it at all!

Welcome and Good luck! P3 and P4 are definitely an important part of this whole thing if you want to keep it off. I did great with it but then I got carried away with the "adding in carbs" in P4 and fell waaaay off track!

Wow Dawn that's AWESOME!!! I think that it's those losses that keep us motivated! I totally get feeling icky about not fitting in clothes. That's where I was when I decided to do this round. I just felt so much more bloated and puffy all around. I love how I don't feel that way in P2. I FEEL slim in P2. Hope this round is awesome for you!

I had that issue my first round where I just could not eat on the loading days. I felt ill. Didn't have that problem this time though Welcome back and much luck and success!

Scale is down .4 this morning, I'll take it! It all adds up, right? I'm tired this morning but it is bright and sunny and no way can i sleep in with all the birds chirping so I'm gonna relax for a few more minutes and get up and get at it. Not much going on today but I will hit the market and Target and get some walking in there. I plan to do 15K minimum steps, having two meals of shrimp and spinach with sliced strawberries today, 96 oz of water, vitamins and once again, attempt early sleep. Got to sleep earlier than usual last night courtesy of melatonin, I am sure. Happy losing everyone! Get outside today with your loved ones [/QUOTE]

The little numbers add up! Sounds like a busy day, enjoy it and have a great day!

I'm glad to hear everyone is doing so well

TMB, I had the week from !!HELL!! last week and only lost 1 lb over the 7 days. However, this week so far, it's 2.7 lbs down. So one slow week does not mean the next will also be slow. It could be your body just taking a little rest while inches down catch up with lbs and so on... Hang in there!!

Down 0.6 lbs today - 21.6 as of Day 47... I've got 5.1 to go to reach my interim goal of 180 so we'll see. Probably another 2 weeks... *crosses fingers*

Down .8 today which is good I guess, but I had been UP yesterday so it's really only .2 less than the day before.

I am really worried that with TOM coming tomorrow that I"m not going to see much if any losses before I end the round on Thursday or Friday (haven't decided what day to take my last dose, Scale will probably determine that) I'd love to have my last dose be Thursday so I can go to Breakfast on Sunday morning with the family and have eggs, bacon etc so I probably will. We shall see.

I'm at 155.2 this morning. I am hoping LIW will be somewhere around 153 or less b/c I usually stabilize about 2lbs over LIW and 155 would be a good number for me, something I can be happy with maintaining long term.

Going to be more vigilant about water these next few days and see what happens!

Have a great day everyone!

After two days of great losses, today I stayed the same. I am thinking this is because it is almost my TOM.

I'm not feeling well today. Really scatter-brained, and everything is hard to do.

Happy monday everyone. I hope you guys are enjoying your journey. the ups the downs, the successes, what your learning about "your" body. Once you get to your goal, you will be able to look back and say "look what I accomplished! I did it! What a great feeling right! I am so looking forward to that.
So i figured out something today...again. Well I remember it from when I did HCg before. But, its funny how you remember something when it happens again. I work at night. So normally I am not up before 12pm, its closer to 2-3pm. Well today I got up to work early at 130, and I got on the scale after going to the bathroom. lets just say surprise is not what i was feeling when I saw the scale was up 1.2lbs. Furious is more like it. Then its like a voice said, "its to early" go drink a cup dandelion tea and wait an hr. Which is what I did. I watched a movie. Went to the bathroom again around three. Down .2lbs from my weight from yesterday. Now you will think I am crazy. But the same thing happened couple week ago when I weight at like 11:45am. I was heavier. My last round same thing. Now I dont know if this happens for everyone. But I know even not on HCG, dr oz tells you to weight the same time every morning. I think it has to do with your body being in "fasting mode" while your sleeping. If you weight your self while your body is still fasting your heavier. This my opinion of course. But it seems to fit for me anyway. I know a few other people i met previously who said it was the same for them.

I definitely weigh more if I weigh too early. I have to learn to stay off the scale when I go for an early morning pee. It's never a good thing. 3 hours later, everything is fine!

I've had the same experience... just another reason why I hate my "office days" when I HAVE to go in for 8:30-9:00 a.m. Most of the time, I work at home or go out in the field and I schedule my appointments for around 10 a.m.

Down another 0.6 lbs today...

You all are awesome!

I've just finished reading the entire 19 pages of posts of this thread and you all are truly amazing!

May I join in? Please?

I started Round 6 on Saturday (my 52nd birthday) and loaded that day, and Sunday. My highest weight was 352. Today was Day One of VLCD, and I weigh(ed) 208.4 (after loading).

Can't wait to see if I can reach my goal of 180.

Onward...

What did you do nice for yourself after each 50lbs game off? anything? You should its a great accomplishment. I make jewelry (i sell it too, hint hint lol) I always make myself something special when I reach a goal!

We are playing "The Biggest Loser" at the office. First Weigh in was January 8th. Today was the second weigh in and I'm down 22 lbs. Woot! I'm #2 for pounds lost out of 68 peeps. #1 slot went to someone who lost 31 lbs. Waiting on the results for % lost. One more month to go for our contest!

That's fabulous! I wonder if the other person is also using hcg? We are having a "wellness challenge" at my school, and I had been avoiding it the past few weeks b/c I was struggling so much. But now that I have hcg on my side, maybe I'll jump back in? It helps that I eat so healthy and drink so much water on this plan!

You know, I (unintentionally) began my TOM on my VLCD 1...wasn't sure about how that was going to work. But oddly, it was MUCH better--less cramping, shorter duration, less moodiness....PLUS, I got to load while I was PMSing, which seemed to work well! Ha! Anyway, it seemed like those first few day losses counteracted the typical TOM stalls that I was used to.

BUT, I think 155 is beautiful! Way to go! I will be so happy if I make it to that mark!

WOWSA! 3 pounds is amazing! I completely relate to the pants not fitting--man, I have three pairs of jeans that I have NOT washed in at least three weeks because I was afraid that if I washed them, they wouldn't fit! (I DID wash them this weekend, because I am quite confident that they WILL fit now..) Luckily, I teach Pottery, so messy jeans are the norm...
But non-fitting clothes are definitely motivation...I hope tomorrow is as successful for you!

VLCD 5 update

Okie dokie--I just wanted to jump back in and update my day b/c this morning was such a quick "celebratory" post.

Yesterday, I went ahead and did some additional measurements when I woke up to no loss--I just couldn't believe it b/c I FELT smaller. Sure enough, I had dropped at least 2 inches at my waist, hips, and thighs--so I felt redeemed! I ate completely on plan, and in the afternoon, my hubby and I went on a 2.25 mile walk. I also did a bunch of housecleaning, which kept me very active all day. On the downside, I was super hungry all day, and by the afternoon after our walk, I felt pretty light headed. So I had two hardboiled egg whites. That helped a ton. I also had a headache for most of the day, but I'm not sure why. Anyway, regardless, I was happy when I woke up this morning, to be sure.

Today, while all of our students had the day off, we teachers had to sit through hours of training...fun...not really! I managed to stay on plan, with the exception of forgetting to tell the deli to "hold" the parmesean cheese on my chicken ceasar salad...I remembered to hold the dressing and croutons, but not the parm... Ah well. I hope the slip up won't cause a problem. After my meetings, I went to the grocery store and stocked up on lettuces, cabbage, asparagus and radishes as well as chicken, lean beef, and crab. Came home and made beef with cabbage--it stunk up the house, and my daughters did NOT like that one bit! But it did taste pretty yummy. Now I have enough for several meals...

I am praying for a successful week of losses this week, whether it be pounds OR inches. I pray for the same for you, my friends!

Kay

KAYLEM,
The challenge definately made me start HCG a week earlier than planned and will be my motivation for extending this round to March 20th, barring any immunity to the shots. It just helps make for the extra push! And the $1300 pot doesn't hurt either

I'm pretty hungry today, but the two tbs of ACV in a cup of water helps tremendously. I've already done this twice today and am amazed at its effectiveness. Just trying to hold off the hunger another two hours till I get home from work and have my second protein.

Haha, and that's what I thought I would do too - slaughter! What the heck, somebody lost 10 lbs more than me? I think that is amazing. We'll just have to wait for the % to come out because I don't know how much this person weighs.

I wish I had exciting scale news, but nada. I drank so much water yesterday in attempt to move things along. Nope. Oh well. I'm coming to terms with the fact that my last two weeks might just be slow.

Loaded for 2 days this past weekend and gainned 3 lbs. Weighed this morning on VLCD #2. and I am down 4.2 lbs. So I lost the load weight and lost another 1.2 lbs. I'll take it! I forgot how great the first week losses are so I need to remember this when I go into the 3rd or forth week when losses may come to a slow down or even stall. Have a good Tuesday everyone!

Oh I also walked 1 mile on my treadmill on Monday!

Haven't read the other posts yet, will go back and do that, I just wanted to post b/c I'm feeling frustrated.

I know that the third week it's expected for the losses to slow down or crawl but the past few days have been slight gains. Period is due tomorrow and I usually retain a few days before and then by the middle it starts to drop back off but my last day is supposed to be Friday so I'll still have my period for my LIW and the number will probably not be great.

So It looks like I'll have only have lost 10lbs for the round which isn't terrible but it's frustrating that I need to eat VLCD for the next several days and get nothing for it you know?

My stats for the last few days:

VLCD 12 - 156
VLCD 13- 155.4
VLCD 14 - 156
VLCD 15- 155.2
VLCD 16 - 155.8

So would this be considered a stall? It's basically just back and forth fluctuating between 155 and 156 for the past 5 days. Should I try an apple day or is it not even worth it since I know that this is most likely TOM related?

I did ride my bike 6 miles lately and I know exercise can cause water retention too but this sucks!

I'm so bummed out. I was hoping to end the round around 153 so I could try and stabilize at 155 for the long term.

Thank you. If you look at my morning post, I really haven't lost anything in the past 5 days which is starting to upset me a little.

I'm right there with you about TOM. And yesterday I too felt really scattered, like my memory was impaired. Hubby and I went to start Season 5 of breaking bad and I could not remember what happened in Season 4 which we watched a few months ago. I felt like there was a hole in my head lol. Juts couldn't concentrate on things either. Hmmmm

Down another 0.6 lbs today...
This is interesting. I always thought my best weigh ins were first thing in the morning before drinking any coffee or water or anything and I'm always afraid to get on the scale again after that. Given my disappointing numbers I may just go weigh myself and put this theory to the test. I'd be thrilled if it were down, my fear is it being up though!

Can't wait to see if I can reach my goal of 180.

Kay
That's awesome! To me inches matter more than lbs b/c that's what makes our clothing fit better, makes us feel slimmer! As for the hunger, you shouldn't be hungry. I expereinced that in my last round and I believe it was b/c my dose was off. I am on a slightly higher dose this time and hunger is minimal to nothing...

So I KNEW I shouldn't have weighed again.

It may work for you ladies but I just got on the scale again and it was up .8 from this morning!!!

At 8am I was 156.8
At 10:45 am I was 156.6

All I've had today is water and coffee so that did not work for me and just made me feel worse than I already do about my numbers.

I know I need to keep it in perspective but I hate to see gains when I'm eating such a small amount of food. I'm sure you guys can relate!

To exercise, or not?

Thanks for the welcome, quezsmom! I didn't lose all of that weight through hCG. In June of 2011 I weighed 250 and got down to 188 using hCG, and have a terrible time stabilizing in P3, so I'm back for another round. Because of the information I've learned from these forums, I'm hopeful that I will learn to stabilize correctly! I do have pictures and will post them sometime.

Yesterday was Day One of VLCD. I lost 1.4 pounds. I think that's pretty good, considering that my quasi-TOM (I'm menopausal) started on Day One of Loading.

I went to Jazzercise this morning, but took it easy. I will also take it easy when I do my resistance training tonight. This is the first time I've exercised while doing a round of hCG, and I'm reading conflicting information about it. I read somewhere that one shouldn't exercise while going hCG since (1) you need carbs to sustain exercise and (2) exercise may reflect gains on the scale, since muscle weighs more than fat.

I'll ask all of you. Do you exercise while doing a round of hCG?

My first round I did last year I walked through my whole P2. I knew there would be times that my body held on to water so I would weigh myself a few times a week so I wouldn't be discouraged. Walking is my only main exercise and I did it before P2 and during. I did a 40 day round using Hhcg drops and lost 28 lbs. so I would say my exercising really didn't hinder my losses. Some people exercise in P3 and have a harder time with the scale. I decided to continue to walk a few times a week and or ride my stationary bike as well. I know that the scale will be up on days that I exercise so I am mentally ready for it. I think each one of us feels different about exercise while on P2 so it is an individual choice as to weather to do it or not. Not sure if this helps or not.

Yes, Maggie. Your input helps tremendously!

I, too, walked on one of my hCG rounds. I normally walked 3 miles in the mornings before work, an average of 3 days per week. That was during round one, when I had more weight to lose.

The dietician in my doctor's office said that the exercise might hinder my weight loss on hCG, yet the doctor, himself, advocates some exercise.

Just like you said, Maggie, it is an individual choice, so I think I will just go ahead and continue to exercise and see what happens.

This will be fun...an experiment...can't wait to see where this leads me...

In a former life, the number on the scale defined me, but only in my mind. No one else saw that number. No one else knew that number. Yet, I knew that number, and it plagued me with guilt if it was "bad." I liken it to what it must feel like to be a criminal who commits a crime, known only to himself. Let's say Harry stole a wallet from an unsuspecting soul. The victim doesn't know that he took it; the police don't know; Harry's clergy, nor wife, nor family, nor co-workers know. Yet he knows, and the crime weighs upon his mind all day, until he decides to right the wrong, confess, take his punishment, and alleviate himself of the guilt.

Like Harry, who committed a crime and was plagued with guilt, I thought of the number on the scale from the moment I got up in the morning 'til the moment I lay down at night. If it was a "good" number, I'd be chipper and cheerful, thinking positive thoughts about myself the entire day. If it was a "bad" one, I'd think that I was "bad" and then think of all of the possible reasons why that number wasn't what it "should" be, putting me into a sour mood for the rest of the day, expending and wasting energy trying to decipher what I did "wrong" to make the number "bad" and otherwise thinking negatively about myself.

Food is not a moral or ethical decision (despite what the vegans and vegetarians say <natch>). Food is food. The decision to eat all or none is not a moral decision. I weigh what I weigh not because I'm either good or bad, but because of input and output. It's really very simple.

We need to stop empowering the number on the scale to dictate who we are.

In conclusion, the number on the scale is just that -- a number. It is not my name, clothing size, intelligence aptitude, measure of ability to love, ______________ <--- (fill in the blank).

I'm so happy that I have learned that.
this, thank you for sharing what you are learning.
