Way too much time on my hands!
|
Good morning! Today, I go to the doctor for a proper weigh in and body comp check. Scale has not been exciting, but my measurements are coming along nicely. I'll be back later when I have some proper numbers from the doctor.

crazy story....lol
Hello ladies. Glad to see everyone is doing so well. I posted on this thread in Jan when I was waiting for my HHCG drops to arrive. Was looking for some support. Of course what happens when I start the hhcg. I cannot find the damn forum. O
I've been scouring my favorites. My emails etc. I have been on this site to many times to count. Why did it just disappear. If I didnt know better I would think I dreamed the forum up. Seriously I was a fluke that I found it today. But so happy I did. Did I say I am doing drops. I am, I have no problems with them. 6 drops /3x day. I must say I am losing faster than I did the first time. I think its because I have been drinking the 100gal of water plus drinking yerba mate, oolong, white tea and green tea. I dont do the milk or the grissini. Has anyone had any problems stabilizing on P3 who didnt do those either? I never got to P3 the first time (family emergency) One of the hhcg sites suggest that if you have a problem eating bread or dairy in P3 this may be the reason. Any thoughts? I am doing a long round I think 40-45days. I will gauge by my weight. so glad I found you guys! ![]() ![]()

I don't add the milk either and have all but stopped the grissini. I didn't have any problems stablizing in P3, but never added back in bread, sugar or pasta, rice, potatoes, or milk. Mainly due to carbs, I consistently kept it low carb in P3. I've come to the realization that I'll never be able to have those things again, if I want to keep the weight off. I'm doing an extended round this time, at this moment, planning at least 71 days. |

Hi all! Last day of my first 40 day protocol and lost 20.4lbs! I am now 152.6!! DH lost 30lbs
Tomorrow I start P3. We just got back from shopping for our food for three weeks of P3. Looking forward to adding a low carb chocolate protein shake for breakfast! We are also going to slowly add in some exercise - elyptical work and some walking. I am really eager to do another P2 in 3 weeks, but in the future I will do the shorter 21 day P2.Wishing everyone here a wonderful finish to P2! I will be heading over to the P3/P4 thread and will keep a spot ready for y'all! ![]() Thanks sooo much for your support here! ![]() ![]() ![]()

I dont have a problem with that. Its just you really dont know how making changes to the plan will effect you. Some people say they mix veggies or eat veggies not on plan etc. Which you may lose weight, but may have a hard time maintaining in P3/p4. So i try to stick to the plan as much as possible. I know Dr S says you can leave out the milk/grissini. But reading the blog I was a little worried that I needed to add them back in. I am glad to hear you didnt have any problems. So your doing 71 days on the shots? I didnt think you could do that? I thought you became immune or something? NO? I know in P3 you have to increase your calories significantly based on your body. Do you remember how much more you had to eat? thanks Marva |

Reddy--I don't know if you know, but I quit my Chick Fil A job to be a SAHM back around Nov. Just around Thanksgiving time. My DD's diabetes and DS's asthma was taking a toll on us. So decided it was best to just stay at home. Then I heard around Christmas time that Starbucks (where I worked for 2 years before my CFA job) needed help desperately. So desperately that I could tell THEM my own schedule!! So back to work I went---my first day back was Dec 26!! At least the paperwork was dated then. And I got some hours that day. Anyway, Starbucks is very tempting nonetheless. I am around pastries and lovely coffee drinks. But I cannot have any of it, so I am good there LOL. AND I only work 2 days a week!! Best part ever!!! Very minimal hours. So, just like my diet, my job seems to be whiplash-y
![]() ![]() I jump from one diet or plan to the next in a heartbeat and it seems my job is the same ![]() God, I need help ![]()

You are one smart lady What works for one of us will NOT work for another. I try to stick to the plan as much as possible as well. I have been known around here as the food police So there has to be something there. I take it as : stick to protocol because it works!!! But if you have medical issues then adjust as needed. Remember that Dr Simeons says to cut out anything you wish!! I take that to hear when I don't feel like eating my veggies. Most of them on his list I just don't like. Best of luck to you!! I know you are going to have a fabulous round |

Marva--one more thing---when people say that they are having trouble adding in bread on P3, they must have misposted because you are NOT allowed bread in P3. I believe they meant to post about adding bread in P4. You can have dairy in P3--I eat Greek yogurt all the time in P3 and have no issues. I love it!! Same with cheese and sour cream. Love dairy!!

Reddy, I don't have a TJ's near me at all. Heck we just got a Whole Foods a few months ago LOL. But here is a thread you can look into: http://www.lowcarbfriends.com/bbs/be...ader-joes.html
Hopefully this will give you some guidance. And some others too: Trader Joe's favorites? Trader Joe's goddess dressing!! Trader Joe's-best thing I've had in a long time!! I don't eat the melba or grissini, so I add more veggies. One thing I do to get in that tbsp of milk is make a smoothie in the afternoon. 2-3 cups of spinach, 7 frozen strawberries, stevia, and a tbsp of milk... along with vanilla or another extract. I never was a shake drinker or liked smoothies, but it's an easy way to get in the fruit and extra veggies if you're omitting the bread.

On the way home from the doctor. I wish I had exciting news, but I didn't lose fat this week. I did drop some of the water I was retaining, thank goodness. Dr said this is not unusual during TOM. Hopefully bigger results next week.

Avy, are you talking about P3? Because I am still doing P2? So just to clarify you didnt eat the grissini or milk in P3? and you added the extra veggies to P3? I know from Dr S. its okay to omit them in P2, but I wasnt going to up anything else. Frankly I canno wait to get to P3. Cheese is calling my name. OMG! Loudly! Its funny what things set people off. Sweets, like chocolate, cakes etc have never been my problem. Now give me some meat & potatoes w/gravy, or pastas in white sauce, Forget about it! ![]() My TOM just ended, thank good. This week was like a roller coaster. Down 1lb to gain 2lbs. Its over officially and I lost 3.2lbs. So I am sure you will probably have a good release when its over too. Horomones, can't live with them or without them.. lol! |

No, I'm on R1P2D6... I don't eat the bread, and add the milk to a smoothie with extra veggies to my afternoon fruit.
If I don't eat bigger veggie servings at lunch and dinner and add the extra spinach in the afternoon, I don't come close to 500 calories for the day. Even counting all the spices I use, and add to my tracker, I still barely get to 475, unless I have beef, which has only been once in 6 days. I've been weighing and measuring and counting every little thing lol. [quote=quezsmom;16263141] Quote:

Drive was 45 mins each way so a bit of a trip and something we'll probably only do once every few months so I'm sad I didn't take advantage of the sausage and chicken and beef and some of the other things mentioned in the threads. I did get the seaweed things that I've seen buttah talk about... of course if I like them I'll be sad I didn't stock up but I was afraid to in case I don't like them. I got their sf choc covered almonds, almond butter, and then some stuff for my husband and my son. I kind of wish I would have waited until next weekend b/c then I could have done all my P3 shopping for real. It was hard to get into that mindset today. Also the store was insanely crowded, like you can't get through the aisles, so I wasn't able to really really look at everything the way I wanted to, but I look forward to going back! |

Evening ladies--just a quick post to enter my update. I woke up to a .5 gain this morning, which was a surprise for me--I definitely thought I would be dropping this morning after all of the water and ACV I drank yesterday! Ha! But, it IS TOM, so that could have something to do with it.
I had more hunger today, which surprised me, too. But, I stayed on plan, even though I made spaghetti and meatballs for the fam! I am certainly hoping for a loss tomorrow...I measured myself last night, and it was NOT pretty. Not one bit. I will measure again next weekend, and compare--that always helps! Dawn--Hope your work day went well! Reddy-Glad your round is so great this time! That is encouraging, for sure. Marva-nice to meet you and congrats on your success, too. WalkingWoman--returning items to the store is always such a pain--I hope you find something else you like better. TMB: sorry for the "no fat loss" news from the doc. I'm betting this next week is much better. Have a nice evening, all! Kay

Reddy - Hey mama!!!! I'm okay. I was soooooo sick from the end of November to middle of January. Bacterial pneumonia and then MONO!!!!!
I still can't believe I got the kissing disease! Although I was kissing a lot of boys so I don't know why I'm surprised :P I'm single again though. This last guy I was dating did not respect me at all or my desire to finish losing weight so he got the boot!!!Sas and I are on Atkins right now, but I wanted to poke my head in here and see how you and Dawn and Tameka and Berta are doing! I'm actually down into virgin numbers now. 166! My body is looooving Atkins. I see you're almost at goal! So happy for you

Reddy, I recently made 2 trips to Trader Joe's in Wa state (I live in Vancouver BC). I'd urge you to look for:
- frozen chicken chile lime burgers (I have them on P2, very tasty) - frozen turkey burgers (ditto) - frozen rock shrimp/langostinos (ditto) - frozen scallops - No carrageenan heavy whipping cream - Shelf stable heavy cream (emergency supply) - Marinara sauce (4 g carbs per 1/2 cup) - Frozen marinated grilled veggies (eggplant & zucchini) - Bacon with no nitrates - Pepperoni with no sugar - Frozen biryani (Indian rice dish, yum!) I haven't tried all of the above, but everything I have had so far has been really good. |

I was down 0.7 lbs again this morning, so 21.1 as of Day 45.
![]() I hope I didn't mess up today though. I stopped at Wendy's for lunch, intending to just get a grilled chicken burger no bun, but I ended up getting a 1/2 BLT grilled chicken salad and a grilled chicken wrap. Well naturally the salad came with cheese and a yummy avocado ranch dressing so I had to try those, right? I did take the wrap off before I ate that bit of chicken (and cheese). Man, when I cheat, I really cheat, don't I? ![]() Then when I was running around Walmart, I got a sudden "gotta run to the bathroom" episode, so I'm thinking something did not agree with me. I'm slogging back the water now in the hope that it will stave off any potential gain |

Thanks for the warm welcome Kay. I know how it feels. I went up +2lbs during my TOM this week. It was over but I realized it took 7days for my system to get back to normal. So I think next month I will remember to give myself a couple more days after my TOM is over before I start freaking out about the scale. lol
Hey Jeanyy. Canada is one of my next places to visit. Funny you have a Trader Joes, and here I am near Richmond VA and I dont think there is one closer than 1hr away, if we have them at all. I dont even know if theres a Whole Foods here. Probably, but of course its not close by Hmm chili lime chicken burger... hmmm sounds interesting! |

Morning ladies! i'm down .2 today. Nothing to get excited about but it is better than gaining, right? closing in on 11 lbs and on vlcd14, not too shabby! Going out looking at some houses today to see what is on the market around here. Should be fun. My neighbor is my agent and will be listing my house if I can get it together to sell, and he is such a sweetheart. He lost his partner almost 18 months ago and totally gets the widowing thing. He's thin and wantId to take me to lunch but I told him I'm watching it and he said he'd be tempted to have some wine and is on a winecation, so we decided to just grab a starbucks and shoot the breeze. Perfect by me!
I'm only doing one meal today so I'll up my protein. With the timing of the house viewing and the other things I want to do, it'll work. I am definitely not hungry this round. Nice. I was a little low on my water yesterday so today I will make it a priority. Maybe skip my morning coffee and have water instead since I'll have coffee later. Minimum 15K steps with my fitbit buddy, vitamins and early to bed. Last edited by walkingwoman; 02-17-2013 at 07:52 AM.. |
