So, it is 6 pm on VLCD1, and things have gone pretty well! I've eaten on plan with little hunger, and I woke up this morning still at 176.5--which is what I had gained from the 1st loading day. So that means that I only gained 3.5 pounds of loading weight, which is pretty good, especially because I REALLY loaded this time! I find it so interesting that as soon as I start dosing, old food cravings die away and I have to force myself to load. NOTHING sounded good yesterday, but that's probably because I tried to eat so frequently.

Anyway, my hunger and energy levels were pretty good, although I am feeling a bit of hunger right now, even though I've already eaten my evening meal. I will make some tea and that will help, I know.

I can't even explain how much I need this to work. I've become discouraged and wary because of my less-than-successful psuedo rounds this past fall. I'll be so sad if this process no longer works for me. BUT, I am staying very focused, reading up on the posts, re-doing my research, and putting my game face on! I've decided to ONLY use the pellets I have, and to assume that the drops I was using have gone bad. I have tried to place another order on the Intermountain site, but they are currently sold out of the pellets! I hope that they will be re-stocked before my current pellets run out.

Well, it's time to cruise the posts and see how everyone did today!

Kay

Welcome Kay,
Glad you are giving it another go. If you get hungry on the pellets, try a tablespoon or two of Apple Cider Vinegar in a cup of water - it really helps.

Can someone post the formula for the detox bath? It's epson salts and ??? inquiring minds want to know

I got in over 25K steps today. Crazy. Surprised because I got a late start today and wasnt feeling it. Once I started, the steps just added up! love it. If anyone needs encouragement to get walking in, I highly recommend the fitbit. It really makes a difference for me.

I use 2 cups of Epsom salts and 1 cup of baking soda. That's the basic recipe I guess.

I just have to take a moment here to sing the praises of my sweet boyfriend. He's been so supportive of this protocol even if it means he has to make sacrifices when it comes to eating. I was a bit nervous to tell him I was planning another round, but he was totally okay with it. He has noticed how much more energy I have and he's happy that I'm feeling better.

Last night, I came home late from an event and I realized I had no meals planned for the next day of work. Well, he jumped in to action and made me a Japanese soup with dashi, cabbage and shrimp! What a sweetheart!
That's awesome! Wish I had a man to make me cabbage and shrimp soup!

Also, I have been using Dr Bronner's to wash my hands. It has oils in it, but it is only on my skin for a brief period. Do you think that's a problem? I am really confused about the cosmetics part of this. I know that most of the oils in Dr Bronner's have been saponified, so I don't know if they are actually available to the skin...
Here is what Dr. Simeons say's about Cosmetics/Oils
When no dietary error is elicited we turn to cosmetics. Most women find it hard to believe that fats, oils, creams and
ointments applied to the skin are absorbed and interfere with weight reduction by HCG just as if they had been
eaten. This almost incredible sensitivity to even such very minor increases in nutritional intake is a peculiar feature
of the HCG method. For instance, we find that persons who habitually handle organic fats, such as workers in
beauty parlors, masseurs, butchers, etc. never show what we consider a satisfactory loss of weight unless they can
avoid fat coming into contact with their skin.
The point is so important that I will illustrate it with two cases. A lady who was cooperating perfectly suddenly
increased half a pound. Careful questioning brought nothing to light. She had certainly made no dietary error nor
had she used any kind of face cream, and she was already in the menopause. As we felt that we could trust her
implicitly, we left the question suspended. Yet just as she was about to leave the consulting room she suddenly
stopped, turned and snapped her fingers. “I've got it,” she said. This is what had happened : She had bought herself a
new set of make-up pots and bottles and, using her fingers, had transferred her large assortment of cosmetics to the
new containers in anticipation of the day she would be able to use them again after her treatment.
The other case concerns a man who impressed us as being very conscientious. He was about 20 lbs. overweight but
did not lose satisfactorily from the onset of treatment. Again and again we tried to find the reason but with no
success, until one day he said:” I never told you this, but I have a glass eye. In fact, I have a whole set of them. I
frequently change them, and every time I do that I put a special ointment in my eye socket. Do you think that could
have anything to do with it?” As we thought just that, we asked him to stop using this ointment, and from that day
on his weight-loss was regular.
We are particularly averse to those modern cosmetics which contain hormones, as any interference with endocrine
regulations during treatment must be absolutely avoided. Many women whose skin has in the course of years
become adjusted to the use of fat containing cosmetics find that their skin gets dry as soon as they stop using them.
In such cases we permit the use of plain mineral oil, which has no nutritional value. On the other hand, mineral oil
should not be used in preparing the food, first because of its undesirable laxative quality, and second because it
absorbs some fat-soluble vitamins, which are then lost in the stool. We do permit the use of lipstick, powder and
such lotions as are entirely free of fatty substances. We also allow brilliantine to be used on the hair but it must not
be rubbed into the scalp. Obviously sun-tan oil is prohibited.
Many women are horrified when told that for the duration of treatment they cannot use face creams or have facial
massages. They fear that this and the loss of weight will ruin their complexion. They can be fully reassured. Under
treatment normal fat is restored to the skin, which rapidly becomes fresh and turgid, making the expression much
more youthful. This is a characteristic of the HCG method which is a constant source of wonder to patients who
have experienced or seen in others the facial ravages produced by the usual methods of reducing. An obese woman
of 70 obviously cannot expect to have her pued face reduced to normal without a wrinkle, but it is remarkable how
youthful her face remains in spite of her age.

I've been trying to clear out my closet for months! Being this is the smallest I've been in 20 yrs, if it fits, do I still want to wear it? Actually I don't have anything old this size. Once I began having children I never thought I'd get smaller than my wedding day. I may have a very limited wardrobe but if it means I'm healthier, I'll take it!!

Yep, I've been aging a rib roast for two weeks. Going to cut it into 1.5 in steaks for Saturday, topped with fresh mushrooms broiled in butter. It will be so nice to be able to eat again.

I was lazy measuring this round. I only did my waist and hips. Three inches off each!! I imagine I have lost inches elsewhere as well since clothes are getting looser. Shoot...yesterday I could take my cords off without unzipping them!

So, when the scale is lying to you remember that Dr. S. called his protocol "Pounds and Inches"!!

Happy Valentines Day everyone!!

shrinking your inches lost are excellent! With HCG you can see such a difference in such a short time.

I'm 3 days without hcg and holding steady to the oz. I start p3 today. It's weird cuz I stayed true to protocol (except a little extra hnh in my coffee) and without the HCG I lose absolutely nothing even on 400 or so calories.

I am on VLCD 14 and I was down 1.2 this morning Very happy.

I have lost consistently and have never gained, so I think I am going to quit worrying about the Dr Bronner's. It seems that it is not making a difference for me. I don't think Dr Simeons is very specific about ingredients, etc to avoid, and I have changed my toothpaste, I already used baking soda and apple cider vinegar to wash my hair. I think I'm good. I think using soap is different than cosmetics, because it doesn't stay on the skin for any length of time.

Total overall loss is 13.4 pounds.

Felina, A ribeye roast sounds marvelous! Enjoy

Had a big loss on the scale this morning! my biggest this round! 1.7 gone! I thought I was puffy yesterday and guess it decided to take a hike and reward me with a woosh!
This sure makes Vday pretty easy to stay on plan. Not going out. LOL. I actually considered taking my hot self out but decided not to cos I really just need to stick to protocol and don't want to slip up with a wine or something and end up regretting it. I'll be home with music on and missing my late husband He was a fabulous valentine I think that's why the walking is so easy for me this week. I'm missing him and I tend to walk around my house and think and remember things and listen to music that reminds me of him and our time together Now, on the up side, I sure wish the exbf would pick up his crap. I'm considering just boxing it up and putting it in my garage. I mean really. Should I have his crap in my closet and drawers? and in my second vanity. I think not! lol. Perhaps that will be my valentines day activity this evening. Considering keeping his pricey hair products and using his toothbrush to scrub my shower lol..not really. Well maybe not, maybe I will. Depends. Good thing I'm not drinking Anyway, on to the plan for the day. Need to hit Target for a return and the market for a few veggies. I'm up in the air on meals. Probably shrimp with mushrooms, zucchini and onion plus strawberries and steak for dinner, same veggies plus apple. Water water and more water, at least 15k steps today. I've already done 9K, so that'll be a nobrainer.

Wishing you all a lovely Valentines day with your loves

So do I! Since I started using that my hair is so clean and shiny. I use that even when I'm not on protocol and I'm saving a ton of money too! I use baking soda to brush my teeth and I'm happier with at too(although taste is a little salty) so I never use toothpaste anymore.

TOM is just kicking my butt this month. I'm used to a more reduced flow. Not this month! Plus, I'm super moody and still retaining water. I can't wear my favourite ring that I was able to wear 2 weeks ago. Waaaaaaaaa!

I did lose 0.2lbs last night, that's better than nothing.

My inch loss has been phenomenal this round.

Chest -3.5"
Waist - 2.5"
Navel/Spare tire- 3"
Hips- 3.5"
Thighs- 3" each

I subscribed to this board a few days ago but don't think I posted yet. I love reading all your posts, trials, successes, ideas... You guys inspire me! I'm P2D4. Gained 1.2 this morning which is discouraging but I think it's because I used Bragg's for the first time on my dinner last night and retaining from that... Guess I won't be using that anymore!
Happy Valentine's Day!

On P2 again, my last attempt was a fail. VLCD2 and I'm down 1.2. Nice start!

I am upping calories a bit because I just signed up for a Mud Run in April with my coworkers. It's 5 miles and 14 obstacles and I'm continuing my workouts to be ready. I can't WAIT!

Happy Valentine's Day...be blessed!

I'm 3 days without hcg and holding steady to the oz. I start p3 today. It's weird cuz I stayed true to protocol (except a little extra hnh in my coffee) and without the HCG I lose absolutely nothing even on 400 or so calories.
ENJOY P3!!!

Enjoy
Sounds like the Dr. Bronners is fine for you so go ahead and use it!!!

Like Booty said, your post is bittersweet but sounds like you have wonderful memories! I had quite a laugh at your V day plans of getting rid of exbf stuff, who needs it. He's an ex now... and scrubbing the shower with his toothbrush sounds like a fun idea ha ha ha!!!

CONGRATS on the Big Loss! It's those mornings when we see that that keeps us motivated and makes eating this way so much more bearable!!

Baking Soda and Vinegar to wash hair? Please elaborate. Is this in place of both shampoo and conditioner? What are the ratios? I am all for trying something new...

ME too! I am losing everywhere but my stomach and hips which is my major problem area!!! I haven't done my measurments again since starting but I'm pretty sure it's going to show in my arms and legs!

I did lose 0.2lbs last night, that's better than nothing.

My inch loss has been phenomenal this round.

Chest -3.5"
Waist - 2.5"
Navel/Spare tire- 3"
Hips- 3.5"
Thighs- 3" each

I just find that so amazing!
Great Job with the inches.

Happy Valentine's Day!
I have come to the conclusion that braggs is a staller. I used it a lot in my last round and did not do well. I've eliminated it this time and I'm doing well so far! Don't be discouraged, drink lots of water and it will come back off!
