Down 0.1 today to make it a whole one pound this week... wow, my worst week yet. That being said, I am down 18.9 lbs in 42 days. I plan to continue for at least one more week, possibly more if I get decent losses. I would love to make it under 180 this round, if that is even possible.

Detox bath - is that baking soda and epsom salts?

Also, I have been using Dr Bronner's to wash my hands. It has oils in it, but it is only on my skin for a brief period. Do you think that's a problem? I am really confused about the cosmetics part of this. I know that most of the oils in Dr Bronner's have been saponified, so I don't know if they are actually available to the skin...

Yes...that is the detox bath. You can also add some ginger to it as well. As far as the soap goes..if you are using the bar soap it is all oil and saponified is the process of mixing oil with lye to make the soap. I used to make home made soaps so that is the deal with that. Not sure if that is affecting you or not.

My thoughts on the oil absorbing into your skin....I work in fast food as a restaurant manager. I did not get fat because the oil i came home with on my skin everyday absorbed into my skin, I got fat because I ate like a crazy woman. If that were the case I would not be losing now, I still come home every day smelling like a french fry and needing a shower to get rid of the grease on my skin.

Finally, a significant loss of 1.2lbs this morning. I hope it keeps going now that TOM is nearly passed.

I don't follow the rules for the cosmetics myself. I just wanted to clarify that she was exposed to oil using the soap and if she were trying to avoid it...she wasn't.

I need to do some more research into what saponification does. Maybe that change makes it less like oil and more like some other organic compound. I don't know. Did not take organic chemistry.

That's encouraging news, silly, about the oil from your restaurant. If it's not making you fat, I don't think my hand soap is slowing down my losses...

I just wanted to say "hi" and (re)introduce myself...This is not the first time I have done this, but my "rebound" was entirely due to the fact that I was not in the right mental place to maintain my success. In fact, I am coming to believe that the approach I have had during the past 10 months has pretty much guaranteed my failure.

I had incredible success in 2011, losing 40 pounds in two rounds. Last Spring, I returned to lose 15 pounds. Then, things began to spiral downward (or outward, depending on how you look at it!), & the weight came back on. There were a number of contributing factors, but no excuses. I didn't watch it, and I got bit. The truly scary thing is that I couldn't just "lose" it again, no matter what I did.

I purchased one bottle of pellets and 4 bottles of IM hhcg in the summer when Netrition was liquidating its supply. I thought it would be wise to stock up. I "attempted" a round at the end of July/beginning of August using the pellets. It was going pretty well, but then school started back up (I'm a teacher), and for some reason, things went sideways, and I stopped mid round.

Since then, I have had a TERRIBLE time--I have tried to re-start rounds at least 3 times since the summer, and each time I lose almost NOTHING, and then I give up. Additionally, I have experienced more hunger, and less of the other benefits that I normally experience with the protocol. As I have tried to examine what I did differently that could have caused this drastic switch to failed rounds, this is what I've found:
1. Since the summer, I used the drops I bought this summer instead of the pellets. There is a real chance that the drops were deactivated somehow. I have ordered more pellets, and will use what pellets I have left from the summer. (They seemed to work well in July). I will throw out the old drops--even the un opened ones.
2. I allowed "little" exceptions that were only the slightest bit "off" protocol, but they were off protocol, none the less. No more of that.
3. I didn't post here regularly to keep me motivated and on track. The "voices" in my head can talk me out of and/or into anything if I'm not careful, Ha! However, I can come here for voices of reason, and that is so helpful. In fact, I purchased Robin Woodall's book just tonight b/c of the posts by Buttah--Thanks, girl!

I'm really very disappointed in myself, and I do not like who I see in the mirror right now. I need to get things straightened out and I need to feel like myself again. I didn't think I would try hhcg again after only dropping 5 pounds in 17 days after Christmas. BUT, I am desparate, AND I DO believe in the protocol.

It works--if I follow the rules.

So, I write this as I enjoy my last glass of wine for the near future, and I say "hello" to old friends and new friends alike. I will need your help in the days ahead.

I'm nervous and excited--but I have my meals planned out for tomorrow, and I look forward to cleansing my system and feeling better. I will be in VLCD 1 when I wake up in the morning, and I will celebrate the opportunity to fit into my clothing again...(The stuff I'm wearing right now ain't so cute! )

Until tomorrow-

Kay
Welcome! I did a round leading up to my dd's wedding in October and started with some drops that I am certain were junk. I switched to the pellets but I really didn't get the crazy big results I had wished for. chalking it up to those. Glad you got the pellets. Love them

Best wishes to everybody today!

Finally down a pound to 153.2 for a total of 19.8lbs lost in 35 days (I didn't count the load weight, was I supposed to?). Five more days and I will be totally happy with a solid 20lbs. I always loss slower than the average and I am on HRT so all in all, I'm feeling great moving into P3 soon! This thread has been soooo helpful!
Congrats on your socloseto20 pounds! I hear you on the maintenance plan! I'm going to really make every effort this time.

I did 12.5K steps yesterday. I think I'm going to try to keep my minimum at 15K and see how it goes. Menu for today is going to be shrimp with cabbage, garlic, ginger and a splash of AA with a freezer apple, steak, asparagus and sliced strawberries with stevia. I'm puffy, so going to get over 100 oz water, club soda, get my vitamins, and attempt an early to bed night. Make it a great day everyone!

I didn't experience any low blood sugar episodes or anything that i'm sure i would have if i were going into starvation mode.

I just realized today is vlcd10 already. Wow, just about half way thru. Wonder if I stand the chance of losing 8 more pounds without extending. Hmmm...doubt it, but ya never know! I'll keep my walking on track and hopefully that will add to the equation. If not, I'll be here for 8 more pounds, I can do it

Yay that's awesome! It's so nice to see that after being somewhat stalled for days! Hope you continue to see losses. Not looking forward to the impending slow down I'm going to see next week as my period is due on the 19th.

That is absolutely SUCCESS! Isn't it wonderful to not think about food? That's the best feeling in the world, at least for me who thinks about food non stop.

Is there anywhere that has people's results by week? I am so curious to see the distribution so I can see how I compare, and what my possible outcome might be.
Those are great numbers. Almost a lb a day!?!? I don't know where you could find a list like that but i know from what I've seen on this board that most people start to see pretty big slows in week 3. First week and a half is when you get the lb a day and then it starts to go down to maybe .5 a day or less. But that can certainly vary. You're doing great!

Hey inches are important too. My last round I did not lose much at all in the way of lbs but I killed it in the inches department. It was much more about "reshaping" last time b/c although I lost barely 10lbs, I looked VERY different at the end and fit into a whole new size!

I always wonder if we're supposed to count load weight in what we lost or not. I mean, technically we DID lose it, but then I feel like I want to know my TRUE loss, meaning how many lbs I'm down from the day I started P2. So I just go by that mostly. 20lbs down? That's amazing!

Your menu for today sounds great. I keep forgetting to freeze my apples. That sounds like such a yummy treat. I've been doing the strawberry sorbet every night and that has been soooo yummy. Gotta freeze some strawberries for that too!

I'm on VLCD 10 too! We're both having great rounds. I too would love to see another 7-8lbs down before I finish that would be amazing. But I'll be happy with 5 more...

Down another lb today which I was thrilled about! I did not expect to see much at all b/c I know this is when the losses typically slow down but I'll take it all day long!

I've been having a really good round so far. I don't want to jinx it though. I know next week with TOM approaching It's inevitable to slow anyway... so I'm glad it's moving now.

I WAS very hungry yesterday so it was kind of a tough day but I got through it. I've started making decaf Coffee "shakes" at night when I get hungry. I just freeze some decaf into cubes and blend it up with stevia and cocoa powder and it hits the spot as a 'freebie'

I will admit I've taken some liberties and been slightly rogue this round.
I've been having more than the allowed 2tbsp of ff milk. Probably 2-3x that much. I've been using broth and stock liberally as well. I also been mixing my veggies a little which I never did before. I've been increasing my protein portions by about an oz too, so I think my calories are probably coming in closer to 700 than 500 but it seems ok.

I did realize that I haven't been using Bragg's this time around so I wonder if that's helping?

Also, TMI but I have been able to go to the bathroom this time around! Past two rounds I really couldn't and it killed me so that's been a plus and may also be helping? IDK but I'm not complaining!

Menu for today, so far I've had half a grapefruit and Cabbage Soup. Going to have a turkey burger a bit later. I'm also drinking lots of water today!

Hope you all have a great day!

Reddy- I use broth and stock all the time, and I am sure that accounts for some water retention. We use dashi here at my house, it adds so much flavour.

I just have to take a moment here to sing the praises of my sweet boyfriend. He's been so supportive of this protocol even if it means he has to make sacrifices when it comes to eating. I was a bit nervous to tell him I was planning another round, but he was totally okay with it. He has noticed how much more energy I have and he's happy that I'm feeling better.

Last night, I came home late from an event and I realized I had no meals planned for the next day of work. Well, he jumped in to action and made me a Japanese soup with dashi, cabbage and shrimp! What a sweetheart!

YAY! for you loss! I loss is a loss is a loss! You CAN do this and you ARE doing it!! I have had NO steps in today. My fitbit is mad at me... It's rainy, cold and miserable so I am huddled around my work heater. I plan on hitting it hard the rest of the week though...almost done with P2!!

Congrats on the pound down!! I love this idea of a "coffee shake"! I plan on trying that one. I've been doing the hot coffee/cocoa but a shake sounds up my alley.

Last night, I came home late from an event and I realized I had no meals planned for the next day of work. Well, he jumped in to action and made me a Japanese soup with dashi, cabbage and shrimp! What a sweetheart!
It's so awesome that he is supportive! It makes all the difference! My DH and I are doing this together (first time evah!!) and it feel so much easier! He's having fun with the recipes and has lost 30lbs in the same time period.

Have a great day, everybody! I am remembering that nothing tastes as good as thin feels!

I'm challenging everyone thats been on over a week to try on some clothes they think don't fit. I was pleasantly surprised today. Shocked actually. My smallest aren't ok yet but wow, they are close. LOL. Now I am questioning if they are really small or not

Thought for the day: "Cravings are temporary. Typically last only a few minutes is all. Whenever a person has any kind of temptation, remember it will pass shortly."

These are the words I live by and I have found it is dead on!

So true! this plan is a breeze when you're in the groove but how quickly that enthusiasm can be kicked to the curb. Gotta keep our eyes on the prize

Tmb, that's great that your so is so supportive. How long have you guys been together now? gotta check in on the dating thread. I haven't checked in since my recent breakup. Need to do that but its a long story lol...maybe I'll post from my iphone so I can talk it in instead of typing. lol. What is dashi?

What are you girls planning on doing for Valentines day?

I'm past 17500 steps. I put on some music and its easy to roam my house and get my steps in.

I plan to sort through more clothes. losing this much weight is rediculously hard on your wardrobe. I've cleaned out my entire closet TWICE. I've got so many yard bags full of clothes that don't fit, Clothes waiting in the wings to get into, and clothes I can wear now, and then the clothes I'm not sure about..LOL. I've got clothes EVERYWHERE, looks like my house exploded.....

We've been together about 1 year and 3 months, but we've been friends for about 12 years!

I have no idea what we are doing for Valentine's Day! It's so hard without chocolate of a special meal!We did buy some beautiful halibut at the farmer's market last weekend, so we could make that!

Dashi is a flavourful Japanese broth. It's fish based, unless you get vegetarian which uses seaweed instead.

Warning, lots of dashi has msg if you care about that stuff. I am not afraid of msg but I know many people avoid it. You can find it without, but it might take more work to track down.

VLCD 1

Good evening, all!

Thanks for all of the warm welcomes!

So, it is 6 pm on VLCD1, and things have gone pretty well! I've eaten on plan with little hunger, and I woke up this morning still at 176.5--which is what I had gained from the 1st loading day. So that means that I only gained 3.5 pounds of loading weight, which is pretty good, especially because I REALLY loaded this time! I find it so interesting that as soon as I start dosing, old food cravings die away and I have to force myself to load. NOTHING sounded good yesterday, but that's probably because I tried to eat so frequently.

Anyway, my hunger and energy levels were pretty good, although I am feeling a bit of hunger right now, even though I've already eaten my evening meal. I will make some tea and that will help, I know.

I can't even explain how much I need this to work. I've become discouraged and wary because of my less-than-successful psuedo rounds this past fall. I'll be so sad if this process no longer works for me. BUT, I am staying very focused, reading up on the posts, re-doing my research, and putting my game face on! I've decided to ONLY use the pellets I have, and to assume that the drops I was using have gone bad. I have tried to place another order on the Intermountain site, but they are currently sold out of the pellets! I hope that they will be re-stocked before my current pellets run out.

Well, it's time to cruise the posts and see how everyone did today!

Kay
