Hi love, welcome
I try to stick to original protocol. The only rogue things I use are coconut oil and half and half,oh and 0% fat greek yogurt. I stick with chicken. Last round ground beef made me stall. Ive only eaten asparagus and lettuce this round. Pretty boring lol |

Ginny Pig takes a run on the controversial HCG drops wheel
Hey folks mind if I join you all??? Here's da spill...I lost 7.5lbs in 25 days on Atkins in January.
WOOT WOOT!!! YIPPEE and everything yelled from mountain tops! It's been a ride & 7.5 lbs ain't half bad if I do say so myself. But fact is I still weigh 152 at 4ft 8inchs tall, hence you guest it smallest loser!! Anyhoo I need to loose about 50 lbs and do it faster than 7.5 in a month, so I've decided to be a ginny pig of my own choosing. So into the lab I go!!! I'm going to continue doing Atkins but add in HCG drops. Yes I know HCG protocol is only 500 calories and no fats blah blah blah but I love Atkins way of eating so pppttthhhh I'm gonna have my BUTTER & CREAM & EAT IT TO!!! Lets see how this little experiment goes. This is a test beep beep beep ... ok you get the point! No I'm not doing HCG injections!! HELLOOOO are you crazy. I'll be doing the Homeopathic real HCG drops. Needles not only terrify me they cause me to gain 50lbs if they touch me. Call me extreme , tell me I'm going over board but hey ... WHO has her only daughter getting married in less then 4 months? That would be ME!!! Strick Low Carbers will judge me for sure, all I ask of them is to please just calm it down, sit back and watch as this low carb ginny pig jumps on the wheel of lets gitter done & hopefully leaves some weight behind in the dust!!! Have no clue what I'm doing and need some help and advice so I came here seeking other daring people like myself. HCG drops arrived today so starting this experiment tomorrow.![]() Last edited by smallestloser; 02-02-2013 at 07:18 PM.. |

Thanks all nice to find a not so strict low carb thread.
Also nice to find others who understand that we are all different and some of us just can't go without our fats without feeling the brain fog. Today I did the drops. At lunch time I tried to load but felt like I was gonna hurl . Dinner I tried also but ending up just eating half a pimento sammy and some snack junk.Should I do the second load day or just start back on my regular low carb high fat diet, cause I'm honestly never hunger on high fat, medium protein, low carb regiment??? The only thing I'm gonna change doing the HCG is try to watch and see how many calories I actually eat in a day. I've never counted calories before. Lost 40 lbs on atkins 10 years ago and kept it off for 3 years but then life happened and I ate feel good cookies and gained it all back. 159.5/152/105 |

Terri.... Thank you for that advice because I so hated eating things I know will throw me out of Ketosis!!! Even though I was like oh but I finally after a month get to be naughty... I was thinking this is crazy messing up a good thing just to start a new thing! So thanks for confirming what I was feeling in regards to loading. To me hey I already load just by enjoying fats on low carb. Sad thing is I probably messed up my Ketosis and for me no ketones in the urine... no weight loss. We will see in the morning!!! |

ok loading just the one day added 1.5 lbs back on.
So no load today just right back on track! Had some eggs and a couple pieces of beef sausage this morning. Did more drops at 2PM but not hungry so not gonna eat till dinner.Weight this morning was 153.5 which was up 1.5 because of the load day. Let's see what tomorrows weigh-in says. ![]() |

I have never counted calories but might try it just to see how much I'm actually eating on the HCG. The Atkins Diet & Eat Fat Get Thin Diet spoiled me!! I was never able to lost weight until using their protocols. Which I now hear that Atkins is doing some calorie counting.
Do you count calories on HCG??? I love High Fat/med protein/low carb... only doing the HCG to see if I loose faster. But if it's still my average of about 10 lbs a month I may try the HCG protocol. So far I have no interest in food which is far better than just my regular full feeling. HCG has taken my desire away to eat so that could be the edge. |

You'll probably need to start counting calories to figure out what works for you. As Cindy says the HCG protocol is 500 calories, but not necessarily low carb. Many have done well on the OWL protocol at 800 calories. Fat Fast has been done quite a bit with 1000 calories with much success and some people can get away with more calories, maybe 1300-1500 on Fat Fast and still lose, although perhaps slower.
HCG doesn't usually work by its self without some sort of calorie restriction. Its biggest asset to many is the fact that you can get by with less calories without being as hungry as you would without it. If you're eating lower calories because of your natural LC hunger that may well work, but you would do yourself a great favor to do some tracking so you know what is working or what you might need to tweak. Of course YMMV.
